Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for access to this advanced copy of Maggie Moves On in exchange for my honest opinion!

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I think Silas' family was fantastic, so much love for all those humans. I was also so drawn into this story and the family they created during this renovation project. Grumpy Wallace was the star as well as Kevin (the dog). Great banter and unique career/settings. Theme of signs in life and things falling into place.

On the flip side, it was a bit too long for me, we had a lot of sub plots and day-to-day life things that didn't really add to the story as a whole. I would have liked to observe Maggie's relationship develop with her sister. Silas came on a bit too strong in the insta-love game in the beginning but this also got way better over time!

I thought this romcom would be cute but it was actually SO CUTE! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I absolutely loved the home remodeling aspect and all of the animals! This was such a fun and surprising read.

I’m learning that I need to pay more attention to publication dates when I request books. Maggie Moves On sounded so good from the blurb, but I totally ignored that it came out during my last full week of school in June. June is a rough time for teachers, and sadly after I missed pub day I ignored this one, probably because I was a little intimidated by its length. I usually enjoy longer books, but I have to be in the right mindset for them. I’m glad I decided to revisit this one via audiobook, but it wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. I’m not sure what was off - perhaps it's because I’ve read a few other house-flipping romances - but I didn’t really connect with the characters (besides Kevin the dog) and felt that while the book was long their getting together was nearly instantaneous. This was my first book by the author, but I’m definitely going to try some other books because I’ve heard great things! Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for granting me a copy to review - all opinions are my own.

I liked this book. The premise was great - Maggie buys old houses and fixes them up. Tackles this one, has help with a hot contractor, falls in love with contractor. A bit spicy!

Lucy Score is absolutely becoming an auto-buy author for me! This book is so great! If you love DIY or HGTV this is the perfect romance for you!

Maggie is a successful house flipper with her own show on an HGTV type network. She comes to town and meets Silas - a sexy landscaper who drives her crazy and not always in the good kind of way. While they fall for each other - and the audience does as well, they both know this can only be a short term fling, because Maggie won’t ever put roots down and slow her workaholic lifestyle.

This is SO good! No clue how it took me this long to read it! This one came highly recommended by @stephsbooktherapy ! And she was totally right! Maggie and Silas have amazing chemistry and deal with actual real relationship problems - not just miscommunications that plague so many contemporary romances lately. Love this - giving it all the stars!

Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score. Pub Date: June 21, 2022. Rating: 2 stars. When I read the synopsis of this book, I thought it would be the perfect rom-com between a Youtube fixer upper sensation and landscaper. But, honestly this book did not do it for me. I felt the premise was promising, but the execution was not. I felt the romance was surface level and immature. The best part of this book was the cute dog. I regret to say this was not the book for me. Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review. #netgalley #maggiemoveson

This was the first book I've read by Lucy Score and it will definitely not be the last! I laughed and cried and beamed from ear to ear and fell in love with every single character in this story! The pacing felt perfect and the length of the story felt good! I love when there are enough pages so that a story doesn't feel rushed! I wish the epilogue had more to it... or maybe I just wanted the story to continue on because I loved it so much! I literally just finished the book and already miss Kinship!! Very well written book that draws you in to the small town vibe with romance, intrigue, found/made family, and a little bit of mystery! I loved it all!

I loved Kevin the dog but ultimately I had a hard time getting into this one.

While Silas and Maggie were cute and I normally LOVE an influencer story, it felt too insta love for my liking.

Was it missing tension?

Was there too much going on?

I’m not sure, but I had a hard time.

I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!

An amazing heroine; a compelling hero; with great family interactions and great drama! This book was thick but Lucy always has the girth to her books which I love anyway. This book felt very modern with the use of youtube and how our main character uses it.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing the ARC for this review, which is entirely my own opinion.

DNF. I made it 35% in and just cannot move past how infatuated Silas is with Maggie within the first conversation they have. He acts possessive over her, as if they have been dating for years when they only just met. She attempts to make it clear that she isn't interested and he just continues to pursue and call himself her boyfriend after one kiss.
I was enjoying the house renovation aspect of the story, but sadly the rest just wasn't working for me.

A burned out YouTube star famous for flipping houses buys a mansion in rural Idaho where she once vacationed with her family. As she renovates the house with her crew and a team of local tradespeople, she falls in love with the town, its people and its resident landscaper. Maggie Moves On follows the classic big city woman inherits a small town house and then learns the magic of community and home plot, with a few deviations.

Maggie works with her ex-husband in a very positive relationship. After years on the road, he wants to stop moving every three months. Maggie has a lot of family trauma to process and she's been essentially running away from it for decades. And then there's the not-safe-for-Hallmark aspects. (The sex and the gays. Oh noes.)

This was my first Lucy Score novel and I was underwhelmed. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more at a different time, but I was immediately irritated by Silas, the love interest, and my irritation never went away. He's aggressive with his affections. From the jump, he's determined to get her to give up her career, keep the house, and stay with him to make fifty babies. She tells him she's up for a fling but loves her career, but he knows better. Score tells us he's a marshmallow while also telling us he's some sort of alpha something, and I just wanted to smack him. I loved so many other things about the book that the frustrating central relationship was a big let down.

Cutest HGTV romcom of my dreams. A little more detailed than I like for my romcoms as far as having a side plot line, but still a really cute read.

Lucy does it again with this hilarious romcom.

Maggie and Silas sure have the insane chemistry that one expects from this author’s works. Working together closely on home renovation project can bring out all of that with the right couple.

These two are adorable together and the fact he fell first was a bonus. Their steamy scenes are page melting. But the best part(s), besides these two, is the secondary characters that present themselves. Especially a dog named Kevin who stole the show.

Loved it though it dragged a bit.

Silas and Maggie's story was exactly what I needed. It's laugh out loud funny, and has some serious steam while still being sweet, I love the quirky small town and the side characters, which includes and adorable dog, made the story even more wonderful! Filled with great banter, insta love, from our H, and blazing chemistry this book is exactly why Lucy is one of my favorite authors!!

Lucy Score's novels are like onions... they always have tons of layers. "Maggie Moves On" did not disappoint. She does an amazing job of making readers feel like they're in Kinship with Maggie and Silas (hopefully there's another handyman around town). Looking forward to Score's future work and definitely going to dive into her backlist when I'm needing a sweet read with depth.

Thank you to @netgalley and @readforever for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to @hachetteaudio for a free download of the audiobook.

This was my first book by @scorelucy , and now I have added all her books to my tbr! Maggie Moves On was a story about Maggie, a home renovator with a show on YouTube. She purchases a old manor determined to rehabilitate it. It is the largest job Maggie and her partner Dean have ever taken on. Dean is dropping not so subtle hints that he’s ready to slow down their schedule, but Maggie doesn’t want to hear it….until Silas infiltrates her life. And Cody too.

The length of this book was daunting at first, but I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the reading was and couldn’t put it down. I loved how Maggie worked with the town to restore the home and how she grew to love the town. I struggled with how domineering Silas was, but I can also see how Maggie needed to be told to stop. Stop running and look around.
