I really enjoyed this book! It had a mix of funny banter and romance! Silas is probably one of my favorites. Maggie is also a really great character, I liked her development/also Silas.’ Overall I enjoyed it, and I think others will too!!! Very relaxed, cute story that many will read!
OMG loved it. Lucy did it again and sucked you right in! God I love her books! I want me a Silas! I wish I had Maggie’s skilled and again… I want to move to a small town. I love the small town vibe the neighbors being your family… I can’t get enough of Lucy’s small town stories. As much as I love the couples in this book Cody and Wallace were my favorite. Those men were amazing people. I also am thrilled how we got a run down of everyone’s lives at the end. There was nothing left to make you wonder. It was perfect!
I fell in love with Lucy Score after reading Rock bottom girl. That book made laugh out loud but also made me care deeply about the characters. Lucy has the greatest ability to make her you feel like you are reading about real people who have flaws and issues. I’m always glad that I get to go on their journey with them to discover their truth and find happiness. Maggie was one of my favorite woman in her books. She was strong and driven and had a huge heart. I loved that she built herself a family. Silas was a smokin hot hero but his family was the best thing about him. I highly recommend this book.
Absolutely loved this book. From the main characters to the supporting cast who will all hopefully get their own HEAs in future books set in Knockemout.
The book works through two different kinds of family conflict cause by money as well as a child potentially moving into foster care. Lucy Score brought the issues to life in a very relatable way and was able to give all her characters what they really wanted in the end - a big, happy family.
The epilogue shows the potential for several more stories - and I hope Lucy Score is already busy planning and writing the next couple.
Maggie moves on is a heartwarming story about how our pasts can impact the decisions we make day in and day out, whether good or bad, healthy or more rash and made out of fear. It’s a representation of the psyche of real life where being hurt in the past stays with us and impacts our thought processes as well as feelings going forward. Maggie and Sy are such wonderful, lovable, and REAL characters who show such a deep understanding of each other as well as the good-natured want/need to understand your partner more. I love how good Sy is with navigating his girl and her needs (for the most part). As with any Lucy book, the characters are real and fantastic, charming and funny, and have problems of their own they’re dealing with which make you love them even more. The storyline never got dull or repetitive and the host of supporting characters made the book amazing. Loved this story front to back and can’t wait for more Lucy Score. I will legitimately read anything this woman writes because it’s all pure gold!
Thank you, Forever! I had not yet read a Lucy Score novel until this one and let me just say, it won't be the last! I was hooked the first couple of pages and this book is now one of my favorites.
This book had everything to offer - a strong heroine, "hot landscaper", a mystery involving hidden treasure, and lots of love & friendship.
Maggie - strong and lovable. She has gained success after a lot of hard work and she rightfully deserves it. She's the ultimate heroine and I cheered her on all the way!
Silas - *sigh* I'm in love. Seriously. There's nothing I love more than a hero falling in love on sight and starts planning the wedding right away. He has it all, a charming personality, a love of family, and oh yeah, a nice body.
Lucy, I can't wait to read your past books AND I look forward to your future titles.

Lucy Score provides another excellent novel! The characters were amazing, the story line was fantastic, and everything of course came to a HEA in the end which is one reason why books by Lucy Score is always an automatic buy! I loved the bit of old Western history tied in with the modern romance. Her message of self-care and communication is spot on and made the characters so relatable!
Another fun read from Lucy! Maggie, Silas, Dean, and Kevin are all fun characters in this story. I really enjoyed watching their stories unfold and the extra mystery that Lucy infused through the development of this book is superb. You get multiple HEAs in this adorable romance.
Once again Lucy Score masterfully creates a brand new world, a quaint small town in rural Idaho, ever so eloquently named Kinship. Our protagonists first meet as professional acquaintances when Maggie arrives to Kinship and starts meeting with contractors for an old Victorian house renovation to be featured on her successful YouTube show. Silas owns a local landscaping company and together with his dog Kevin makes a lasting first impression on Maggie.
This book has all the hallmarks of a bestseller - captivating story line, well developed characters, amazing community that rallies around their own, love, swoon, humor, and a bit of a mystery that makes for the most refreshing unputdownable experience you are sure to love!!! I definitely recommend to all contemporary romance enthusiasts and readers who love a great story.
I wanted to be BFFs with Maggie, wowed by Silas, and part of the Kinship community. And access to that amazing house would be nice too! Of course, I stayed up way too late to finish as the pace kept me turning pages. There's a mysterious subplot to go along with this adventure that added to the fun. I loved that the hero was an impulsive romantic and the heroine tried to be no-nonsense, ruled by facts and data with an ambitious drive to succeed.
Book 13 of 2022 — ARC of Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score — Publish date JUNE 21, 2022
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Forever! I had not read any Lucy Score titles before but I follow her on social media. This book surprised me in so many ways. For fans of modern romance, this book has everything. From the can-do heroine, the “hot landscaper guy”, a centuries old mystery, and great side characters, there’s something for everyone!
Pros: Maggie is a fantastic main character/heroine. She is strong without being cold, sweet without being saccharine. With the book centering on the renovation of a falling down mansion (“The Old Campbell Place”), fans of HGTV and fixer uppers will also enjoy. Silas is every girl’s dream! The hot landscaper guy is so much more than a pretty face and a gorgeous bod. The ancillary characters are humorous and loving, adding levity and laughs to the story. As I started the book, I was worried it was going to be a bit long since it is longer than other romances I have read, coming in at 416 pages. Instead, Score uses the extra pages to flesh out the characters, relationships, the mystery surrounding the renovation of the mansion, and tie up some loose ends in the town’s history, as well as Maggie’s. This book reads more like a women’s fiction than a romance. The romance is a main part of the story, but it doesn’t take the lead. The story itself is about the characters and their willingness (or un-willingness) to change and adapt!
Cons: The only con here is that now I want to read a book about each of the characters! There is definitely room for books about Silas (and his parents!), Michael, Dean, Dayana, Cody, etc etc etc…! I hope this becomes a series!
I’m so glad I got the chance to read this book before it was published! I will be looking into more Lucy Score titles!
My eighth 5⭐️ of 2022.
5⭐️/5
Delightful, sparkling, endearing. I had such a good time reading this book!
It had everything. Small town life. An old mystery involving buried treasure.
Creating a family and rehabbing a great old mansion.
The characters were all fantastic. Silas and Maggie incredibly romantic and hot.
This was perfection.
I absolutely adored this book. As with all of Lucy's books, you go through so many emotions with this one. It may cost more than her other books, but is well worth it!!!
This book had everything! House flipping, small town feels, a mystery, cute kids, cute pets, and a perfect love story. Too much? No! It was the kind of book that you pick up and want to stay reading. You fall in love with the characters, the town, the feel of the place and you don’t want to leave! I found myself wishing it was a real place that I could go to and that they were real people I could be friends with. There’s laughter, there’s tears and there is just a perfect balance in the writing that lets you sit down, get lost and enjoy.
Lucy Score hits it out of the park again! She writes about a strong heroine and the hero is that modern guy nit afraid of his feelings we all want to find. The cast of characters surrounding Maggie and Silas is so much fun and rounds out the story. I love the mystery interwoven into the story, it keeps your attention and you won’t want to put this book down!
Lucy Score has moved into our hearts with another chart topping hit! Maggie Moves On is full of Score’s magic formula for the perfect read. Lovable characters, family fun, acceptance, a dash of mystery, a sprinkle of suspense, a heap of steamy chemistry, and a storyline begging to be devoured.
5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Maggie Moves On is a wonderful book. It has compelling characters, a great story and was a joy to read.
The banter between Maggie and Silas was at times laugh out loud funny and Kevin the pit bull was a delight.
Reading about how Maggie's renovation of a mansion turns into the creation of a found family is very satisfying. Learning about Silas' real family provides a lot of humor.
I highly recommend this book to all rom-com lovers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Maggie's life hasn't been all rainbows and butterflies, but she's a survivor who found her path...all over. Silas comes from a tight-knit, albeit unorthodox, family with deep roots. They are thrown together while working on a big renovation project, and discover that opposites might just help create balance. With plenty of hijinks, and a few mysteries to solve, there are some revelatory moments for almost every character introduced in the book...and of course, a happily ever after. :)
Maggie’s Moves On is an adorable book. So amazing! It’s got humor and heat. There is nothing about it that I didn’t love. I’m ready to move and live in the book. January was a long month. I was feeling down. This book was just what I needed to help perk me back up. This is my second Lucy Score book after Rock Bottom Girl. They both were knocked out of the park for me. She’s an author that I want to read more from this year.
I voluntarily read an early copy.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a nice change having the male lead be the one wanting a committed relationship from the start. The characters are very likable, but flawed and dealing with their own baggage, which is pretty much true for all of us.
I would recommend it to others, it is definitely another great book from Lucy Score.
