Her Billionaire Boss was pretty good, I have to admit I didn't have high hopes, but I was pleasantly surprised! This book follows the development of a romantic relationship between Marc (a Scottish billionaire tech guy) and Leila (a social worker). Marc finds himself the sudden father of a baby after his college friends pass away. Leila is hired as his temporary nanny. They hit if off, of course and become romantically involved, but not without some drama and hiccups. I ended up enjoying this book. The Scottish dialogue got a little old after a while, however. Overall, good book, great light read, would be perfect for a vacation or beach read. Also, no overly sexual scenes, if that kind of thing bothers you.

Lalia Daiz's last day working for child services has her going to Scotland to deliver a child to what turns out to be a grumpy billionaire. She also realizes that he needs help which he also realizes. This story though actually turns out to be a good story with good characters and very much worth the read.

This book was a really good read. It was one of those slow burn romances that had those little kisses and hand holdings. No fake romances to get money or contracts, just a nanny and her boss who spend so much time on a cruise taking time to slowly get to know each other they can’t help but develop feelings. Plus you can’t help but fall in love yourself with the characters.

A sweet romance and an enjoyable read. Marc and Laila have a few cute scenes together on their cruise and they bonded nicely while taking care of baby Grayson. Marc's family are a rambunctious lot but lovable. Laila is a well-rounded character with a backbone and I loved that she had her own career path to pursue and landing the billionaire wasn't the end goal. Marc is an all-around great person; kind, generous, and crazy about Laila.

I blitzed through this one. It’s well written, cute and super enjoyable. I adored the side characters, especially Mathilda and Jackson and all the family. There are some sexy times and it was really good.

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. On her last day of work, a fired social worker drops off a baby boy to the named guardian so he wouldn't potentially get lost in the system. When she arrives on the doorstep of a billionaire, he doesn't know that he was named guardian and is typical single guy with no setup for a baby. She agrees since no longer employed to be the baby's nanny until a more permanent arrangement can be made for baby's placement. Of course, these two start dating. Enter his family who doesn't approve, her ex boyfriend, and a mistake that he makes that costs her something she desires. Will he be able to win her back and show he how important she is to him? I really enjoyed and would recommend. This is the first time I've read anything by Leslie North, but look forward to reading other books.

This is a great book by Leslie North. The two main characters are Laila and Marc. They meet because Laila is bringing a baby, Grayson, to Marc. Grayson’s parents were killed in an accident, they had Marc listed as the guardian. Marc planned to take his whole family on a cruise on his yacht to Europe the very next day. So he invites Laila to come with them to help with Grayson. She goes with him. Their is a mutual attraction between them. They have some trust issues but they work them out and fall in love.

Leslie is another author that is new to me but I'll be reading future books from her after reading Her Billionaire Boss. I thought the story was good, would of loved to seen a couple scenes expanded a little more but it wasn't something that kept me from disliking the story at all. I'd definitely recommend this one to my friends.

Her Billionaire Boss is a sweet--if not exciting--read that goes down quickly and easily. If it suffers a bit by being too nice, it makes up for it by having a billionaire hero that, for once, isn't a kinky asshole. Marc is actually perfection; he's a generous, warm, unpretentious person with a crazy, joyful family. All that and Scottish too. (Though the Scottish accent and expressions feel a little forced, if I'm to be fully honest. If I hear one more person called an "eedjit," I may hurl haggis all over the place.)

Leila, too, is uncommonly perfect. Growing up in foster care didn't jade her at all. She's sweet and loving, great with kids, and of course totally beautiful. A newly unemployed social worker, she meets her billionaire when she brings her final charge, four-month-old Greyson, to Marc's penthouse. The baby's parents were killed and had listed Marc as godparent. The author finds a way to make it seem okay for a social worker to show up unannounced and unexpectedly to drop off a baby. Anyway, Laila is happy to take the last-minute temporary job offer to nanny Greyson on a six-week family cruise as she has eight weeks before a job interview at a local community center.

The cruise is cute, the baby is cute, the Campbell family is cute. Marc and Laila together are cute, and the two with Greyson are even cuter. What I didn't feel, however, was any true chemistry between Marc and Laila, no matter how often the author told us there was. They are just two really nice people who are nice together. The only conflict is the money/no money thing, and it is really hard to care about it as it's clear that Marc doesn't intend to use his cash to control people; he's just ridiculously generous. There's an attempt to explain why Marc's generosity falls flat for Laila, but everyone is just so nice that even when they're angry with each other, they're...nice about it.

The resolution is also sweet, and we're treated to a "one-year-later" final chapter to prove the HEA. I do wish this last bit included more of the mechanics of how it's all working though. We go from "Yay, Marc can behave like a normal not-rich guy" to a year later without proof that he maintained it. But s'okay.

In short, this novel is sweet and uncomplicated, and it can be swallowed in two or three short hours.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

I loved Marc and Laila (and Grayson). This is a sweet and tragic story. Lots of tears (sad and happy) and the best kind of ending.
5 stars!

This was a delightful book to escape into after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Leslie has written a feel good book that enveloped me into the pages. Laila finding herself unemployed, was given the job I would have loved to have when I was young. And while there was a chemistry between Laila and Marcus, I felt that both seemed a little immature at times. But then, aren’t we all at one time or another.
Positively a good story from a favorite author, Leslie North.

Another great story by Ms. North! I can always count on her to deliver an entertaining and enjoyable read, and this one also did not disappoint. Laila and Marcus are two very different people coming from different worlds. He grew up in a loving family, while she spent her childhood in foster care. They meet when she brings his godson to him. He hires her to help him take care of the baby. As they spend more time together their attraction becomes stronger and the sparks fly. They really have amazing chemistry. The story was well-written with strong characters and kept my interest the entire time. Very good story!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This failed for me because of the clumsy, inaccurate and downright insulting depiction of Scots. Adding the odd phrase does not convey Scottishness - especially if it’s inaccurate. Portraying folk of Scots origins as if they are permanently f….g and b….g is not only insulting but it’s inaccurate. Portraying all Scots as if they talk and behave like foul-mouthed dockers is wrong and insulting. .

The inauthenticity started on page 2 when the hero says ‘That dinnae look like egg foo Yong’ as he sees the baby. If he uses Scots phrases, then he would have said ‘That disnae look like….’

I found the strange usage of supposed Scots words and phrases very inauthentic and jarring. Throughout the book the accents and vocabulary move from various parts of Scotland to Ireland and at one point even moves to Yorkshire. The Irish accent and vocabulary varies across the island of Ireland, and is is totally different from Scottish accents.

As for the story and characters? Well this was a great premise but I’ve rarely come across such a collection of unpleasant and uninteresting characters in a book. I disliked the power imbalance between h/H and this spoiled much of the story for me.

I loved the cover and it was the prospect of the good looking hero and fabulous locations which attracted me but the story left me very disappointed.

Sorry but this was not my cup of tea.
