Her Billionaire Boss is a great read when you want to escape the real world. It’s a quick read that doesn’t involve you to think too much; not really anything profound. But it’s great for what it is. While it does lack a bit in character development, the author does give some background into Laila’s childhood and reason for pursuing her new job, as well as the strained relationship between Marc and his dad. I enjoyed how the author wrote Marc and his families spoken words; I felt as if I could truly hear their accents. Plus I fell a little bit in love with Marc because of how caring and attentive he was with Grayson right away.
While completing the final task for her job before she is officially laid off, Laila volunteers to nanny infant Grayson for Marc as he embarks on a 6 week cruise with his family. We learn that the purpose of the trip is to get Marc’s dad to a treatment center overseas. Throughout the story we see Laila and Marc quickly bond over their love for Grayson. The two then begin a relationship of their own, but like any romance novel things go awry. Will they end up together? Will Marc adopt Grayson? Will Laila make it back for her interview in time and get her dream job? There are also a few other little storylines in the book.
Unfortunately sometimes the story is inconsistent and lacks details. All in all, it’s a worthwhile read.
Leslie North had me in my feelings with this book. The search for acceptance and family while keeping your independence gives this book some deep meaning. I love it completely and I cant wait to see what Leslie North does next. I am a true fan!
Thank you to Relay Publishing and Netgalley. What a lovely romantic story. It follows Laila and Marcus who come from very different situations. She has just been let go from her job in children's services due to cut backs, and he is a billionaire. Her last job is to take a 6 month old orphan to his legal guardian, who happens to be Marcus. She then takes on the role of nanny as he doesn’t seem to want to take on the responsibility of the little boy, Grayson. The characters were all likeable and relatable, with enough twists of will they, won’t they. Marcus’s extended family were also believable. An easy read showing that love can conquer all.
hmmm mixed feelings🤔
i liked the meet-cute.. that was def unique and ig what made this book worth reading.
i found weird the dialogue.. like the mc talked normal but the rest of the characters cuz they were Scottish kept saying 'ye' 'aye' like you don't need to type all that.. just say they have an accent or sumn😭😭 and also when the mc broke up w him he just replied with a "sad 'aye' " LIKE 😭😭😭😭
the H was like selflessly selfish.. like damn think abt how other ppl will react !??
sorry but when he almost ruined the h's interview day that was a big red flag i would've dumped him atp fr
his character growth was supposed to fix this selfishness but i didn't feel like that was well executed or succesful :/
AND when he literally proposed to the h on his cousin's wedding like.. way to ruin someone's special day dude just keep it for another moment 😐😐
This was a cute story between Laila and Grayson. Laila is pretty much hired on the spot by Grayson who needs a full time nanny. While the story had some unrealistic aspects to it, it was still a nice read overall.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Okay I know this is fiction, but it is not at all realistic. No way would child services just drop off a child. They would at least have to vet the person and home first. So, if you just go with the flow, this is a fun, quick read. 3 stars
An original story revolving around a baby in need of a temporary home and a woman who can be a temporary nanny. Some great supporting characters and funny one liners with a strong plot, the endings never in doubt but that doesn’t matter a bit!
The insistence of adding ‘bairn…lass…and ye instead of you every third sentence so we would really know that the characters were Scottish was irritating all the way through. That really grated and ruined the fluidity of the tale.
Great plot, annoying language.
Her Billionaire Boss
Rating: 3 stars
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own.
Her Billionaire Boss was a very sweet and slow paced story that mostly takes place on Marcus' yacht heading towards Greece in search of a new treatment for his father. Along this trip he falls in love with Laila, who is hired to be a live in nanny for Grayson who Marcus was just awarded custody of.
Why the three star rating?
I liked the story and thought it was okay. There's nothing bad with the characters or story, but I just felt that something was missing for me. These two are attracted to each other from the beginning and did not know what to do with this attraction. It was fun to read how his family was very well aware of his feelings towards Laila.
I have enjoyed previous books from this author and look forwards to reading more from her.
This book was lovely, easy to read and absolutely sweet.
For most of Laila Diaz’s life, nothing has gone as planned. But now, things are finally looking up. On her last day working for child services, she’s scheduled to deliver an orphaned infant to his new legal guardian…grumpy Scottish billionaire Marcus Campbell.
It’s immediately clear that while Marcus is capable and gorgeous, he’s also in need of a nanny, especially with a family retreat on the horizon. Laila’s out of a job, so he makes her an offer she can't refuse. Marcus has never met a woman as caring, sincere, and beautiful as Laila. Even as they enjoy paradise together, the real world still looms over the three of them, ready to burst their happy bubble. When the holiday ends, can they can build something new, something that can last? Something more than just a fantasy…
This two are just too cute. Laila is orphan too, so she immediately feels compel to protect Grayson. She is strong, sweet and super generous. Marcus is an amazing character. He is protective and caring and I loved that he is not the usual alpha billionaire type. They have some issues regarding money —she doesn´t like him paying for everything, he just sees it as a way of making everyone’s life easier— but not a lot of aghast.
It’s well written, cute and super enjoyable. I adored the side characters, especially Mathilda and Jackson and all the family. There are some sexy times and they were really good.

Her billionaire boss by Leslie North.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Read In one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Great story and characters. 5*.
A cute contemporary romance with some deeper themes that I was not expecting. If we are being honest any romance with the "billionaire" something in the title I always assume it'll be a spicy quic read but this one had much more going on that I enjoyed. Especially Grayson!
Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for providing me with an arc for an honest review!
3.5 Stars
This book is sweet! Laila needs to find herself out of the control of a boyfriend and Marc needs control. But through a twist of fate, the precious social worker is his temporary nanny while they grow and learn. The spice is essentially closed door and the story drags a bit which is why I rated it 3.5 stars.
This is Laila’s and Marc’s story. Laila brings Marc the baby of his deceased friend because he was named godfather. After this Laila has been laid off because of budget cuts. Marc needs a nanny to take on a cruise with his family. He asks Laila to take the job. On the open seas romance happens. There are many family undercurrents. As well as subplots. Marc likes to be in control but Laila needs to be in control of her life because she grew up in foster care. Laila and Marc come to a compromise. I loved the story. I can’t wait for Leslie North’s next book.
You would think that a luxury yacht cruise would be beautiful and day dreaming worthy. I didn't enjoy that part at all. The stops were nice though.
At times I forgot that Laila was hired to be a nanny. Marc hardly ever treats her as an employee until he's reminded by his family. They both are too focused on what others think. With that said, I really enjoy the story. Marc's family is both wonderful and not. I like Laila's independence.
Surprisingly this was my first experience reading Ms. North's books. I read the blurb and something just clicked for me that made me think I would really enjoy this read which I did. It was a nice, easy read and I especially enjoyed Grayson -- he was adorably written. Marc and Laila were a lovely couple as well and even though it was quite predictable, it was a charming romantic read and that's why I'm giving it 3.5 stars. The entire Campbell family are a bit of a hoot though! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
A breezy read that suits well for read-ins.Marc and Laila are so cute together. Grayson is adorable too. The Campbell family especially Jeanie , Sutton and Matilda are super good. They are a lovely but boisterous bunch. On the whole the book was a joyful ride.
This is a smart, sweet, and enjoyable novel. With one major exception (I'm pretty sure child welfare agencies don't just turn up at your door with a baby, regardless of what the will says!) the story was quite realistic and had understandable, honest obstacles that weren't forced or manufactured. More importantly, the MCs were both kind, thoughtful adults who reflected on their choices and tried to do what was best. This made it very easy to root for their happiness!
There is some nice steam here, not quite closed-door but not quite as explicit as most contemporary romances. There's also some nice travel detail from the characters' cruise in the Mediterranean. Pick this up for a well-written, fun read!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
Laila Diaz needs a break, she has been cheated on, lost her job and needs to drop off baby Grayson with his guardian after informing him f the death of his old friend. Billionaire Marc needs a nanny, so she gets a working holiday aboard his yacht. A great story of love building, despite family involvement.
When I think of romance, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and satisfies every romance junkies' heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day. North is one of the best.
