An inspiring story for young kiddos. We like gifting books for special occasions. This one is heart warming.
A cute story to share a cure moment with your children. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to share a moment with a young one.
This book has such beautiful illustrations. It has a great message about the light that is in each and every one of us.
This is an amazing little book about a little boy who is told to find the light within him. At first he cannot find it, but he keeps practising to see if he can find it. My daughter and I loved this book. It made my heart shine, and I just loved it. The illustrations and the writing are beautiful.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The best part about this book are the lovingly drawn illustrations. The child and their mother talking about the light within and how to find it and how to feel it. You see this on the child’s face, and you see the love in the mother’s expression. The story flows well, however I wish there was more of a description of what the actual light is. Of course it’s a metaphor but there’s nothing to explain that metaphor, so while the book is nice it could be better.
The Light Within is a beautifully illustrated picture book about the light within that guides oneself and is the best part of us.
What a lovely children's book about a boy discovering the light that is shining brightly inside him. I love how by smiling all the time he feels he is emitting his inside light out to the world. My six-year-old daughter enjoyed the book as well as the colorful illustrations.
Thank you Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read this book.
The Light Within is a cute picture book which explores the idea that we’re all special and have an inner light which comes out and effects these around us when we smile.
The illustrations are cute and colourful but I’m not sure how much of the “message” will be understood by small children, who this is clearly aimed at.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I read this with my six year old and she loved it!
It’s such a sweet story about finding the light within ourselves and how to love it. I loved the illustrations, they are so sweet and diverse too.
My daughter especially loved the stars and we talked about sharing the light as if the light is kindness, love and happiness.
I thought it was a lovely little book about self love in terms easy enough for a child to understand and process.
I will say the formatting for the ebook will need adjustments as the pictures fell on different pages to the text.
A beautifully illustrated and cute story about embracing the spark that's within each of us. I love the representation and diversity.
Beautiful illustrations and a lovely little book. However I'm not sure my 4 year old grasped the concept of the light within.
A beautifully illustrated book to teach children the value of meditation and kindness , and to teach them the value and charm of their smiles. My daughter ( 5 years old) loved this one and asks me to read over and over again.
This felt more like an adult book rather than a children's book. I read this with a 5-year-old; the idea was lost on her. I liked the illustrations and the colour palette.
A charming read about finding the light that's within each and every one of us. The illustrations are beautiful!
This book would be really good for a bedtime story. I think the message is necessary for children. A little boy was trying to find the ‘light’ within him. The illustrations are wonderful. Since this would be a wonderful bedtime story, I will not be adopting it for my classroom, however I will keep this book in mind for when I have children of my own.
Thank you @netgalley for the ARC e-reader edition!
This story is super sweet and exactly what children need to hear when turmoil swirls around them. I could see it becoming part of a meditation or mantra to calm little minds before sleep or to settle stressful thoughts.
This is a heart-warming story of a child discovering the light inside themselves. It is hopeful and places value on individuality and the uniqueness of being human. Leticia Ribeiro's illustrations are absolutely stunning, and bring so much joy and wonder to the text. It is a picture book that is comforting and warm, reminding children that they too are special.
I read this book with my 9 year old son, & we both loved it. I felt quite emotional at times with the beautiful wording and pictures. Such a gorgeous book about finding your own inner light and how everyone is special and important in their own ways. Beautiful illustrations and beautiful story, as a parent this book really pulls at the heart.
A simply illustrated picture book with a very important message. Beautifully written but I think the message is aimed at a higher age than the illustrations although both are aimed at toddlers. Lovely book, message is well conveyed but feel somehow it could have had 'more'.
I love the illustrations in this book, it was really eye-catching for my little girl and I'm sure it would capture the attention of a class of small children. I like the idea of a light within, and I think it would be a marvellous exercise to do with small children in order to find their own light. I also love that it encourages smiling as a way to share your light - beautiful,
