I think this one was just fine, there's so many contemporary romances on the market this year that tjis one wasn't up to par for me.
I love enemies to lovers troupe! Elizabeth knocked it out of the park with this one! Ten years later and the rival is still there but its burning passion! I read this book in one day because I could not put it down!
Release Date: June 10 2022

Posy and Lucas have hated each other for ten years. They were high school rivals that never made peace. When they reunite at their reunion, both posy and Lucas find that they need the other to solve their problems. Fake relationship to real love.
I am furious about this book. How in 2022 can an author write the sentence that a wedding dress must have been worn by an elephant previously because it’s a large size. Posy is a jerk. I found myself rooting against her instead of for her. Lucas wasn’t much better. Great concept but terrible personalities.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

A nice and cute read! I really enjoyed this one! Thank you to the publishers and netgalley for a copy of this book.
I heard about this new release from One More Chapter and it sounded so great I wanted a copy there and then! Unfortunately, I had to wait a short while to get my hands on a copy but it wasn’t too long before I was sitting comfortably reading along.
In the reunion we meet Posy and Lucas, they went to school together and were head boy and girl but also firm enemies. Posy was the popular girl, Lucas the only scholarship kid whose parents worked at the school so obviously (and stereotypically) doesn’t have any friends and is a bit of a try-hard. We join them as they meet up again at a 10-year reunion, both entirely different but in need of change in their lives as nothing is working out as planned. They both have a lot of growing to do but realise they can support each other to achieve some of their aims.
The plot, though entirely far-fetched and fantastical is a little crazy but fun to follow. Posy lives in her own little, very spoilt, world and brings Lucas into it wonderfully, though kicking and screaming at times! His desperation leaves him little choice though. The beginning was a little slow but stick with it, by 20% it becomes much better for the rest of the book.
Lucas is a likeable character but can be annoying at times, I loved his spreadsheet obsession and organisational skills, which are immense! Posy is loveable but also annoying in her own way, especially her complete naivety about how the world works and how people live and earn money. They have good chemistry and great banter, despite being chalk and cheese they bring out the best in each other. The comedy of the headmistress and her deputy is very amusing.
Posy’s family loves her but is also quite mean to her, teasing her all the time and she is obviously still upset by her mother’s passing when she was young yet nobody really seems to care and just thinks she needs to get over herself a bit, which is really sad. They do come through for her though and their love is demonstrated well.
Despite a bit of a slow start, I loved this romantic comedy. The characters and plot were well drawn, and I loved the ending. I would like to see a sequel to follow their hilarious life together.
I really wanted to love this one but it just fell super flat to me. None of the characters were particularly interesting and the whole plot line just felt messy and strange.
2/5 stars. I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an authentic review
2.5 stars….The writing was okay, and the basic plot had potential, it just didn’t really come together. The two main characters are mostly unlikeable through the story, and the unnecessary fat shaming (specifically in the wedding dress shopping scene where Posy says a dress must have been “worn by an elephant” because it was a larger size- yikes!) That alone makes both Posy and the author questionable. I think another author could have made this story work, but this just wasn’t great.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me access to this eARC for my honest opinion!
DNFed after Posy forces Lucas to team up with her
This book is about a high school reunion of two enemies but both have financial issues and decide to work together in order to get what they need. As much it was said it was a rom com, I'm sorry to say that I don't think there was any potential for a good romance. Usually I hardly ever DNF a book but boy was Posy such an annoying character. I couldn't stand her at all and she is pretty much more the enemy in this story. The writing just didn't work and I don't know if it was just because of the MC where I just gave up with the book. I could have gone with finishing it but why when I can start a new read.
There is nothing that I love more than a enemies to lovers, fake dating love story. However, I'm sorry to say, this one missed the mark for me.
I just couldn't get past how much I didn't like the main character, to the point where it was hard to continue reading the book. I'm sorry to say, this one was a DNF for me.
This is your typical enemies to lovers storyline however it was super fun to read and some important topics are discussed which keep the book engaging. I think this book would make a great rom-com film.
I am really looking forward to reading more of Drummond's work.
I'm sorry to say that this book just wasn't for me. The writing felt clunky and the characters' motivations didn't make sense to who they were. I wish I had something positive to say, but it the plot and characters were a bit of a mess.
Full of romance between Lucas and Posy which left me feeling with the aw feeling. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.
With this book having 2 of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers and fake dating, I thought this would be a winner for me but I couldn't do it. The characters were horrible and there was no chemistry there. The premise was absurd. I just..... this wasn't it for me. Thank you for the chance though.
Posy and Lucas didn’t like each other much in high school. As head boy and girl, they had to interact often and couldn’t agree on anything. They both arrive at their ten year reunion wishing they were more, different or something other than what their lives have become. Posy’s rich father has cut her off. She needs cash to get to Hawaii to fulfill her dreams of becoming a famous photographer. When she remembers a little used bylaw that requires the school to pay for a wedding and honeymoon if the head boy and girl should ever marry, she thinks she’s found her solution. Now she just needs to convince Lucas to go along with it.
I found The Reunion quite funny and entertaining. Enemies-to-lovers is probably my favorite romance troupe, so this book was right in my wheelhouse. Posy and Lucas have undeniable spicy chemistry when they finally give in to it. I wouldn’t run out and buy this one, but I’d definitely check it out at the library to enjoy on a lazy afternoon.
One of the best enemies to lovers + fake relationship troupes I've read in a long while! I wanted so much more of this story. Posy comes off as entitled and out of touch at first, but you eventually grow to love her morals and tenacity. Lucas is literally a dream. I was invested in them from the beginning, but the character development really sealed the deal for me. Panic was invading when Lucas kept getting calls from Sally, but thankfully that only brought closure and a maturing for Lucas.
You KNOW I love me an enemies to lovers romance, and then add in a fake relationship and a fake wedding to boot?! This should have been my catnip... Sadly, I just didn't like Posy and so I couldn't get into the book. I kept plugging away hoping it would get better and it just... didn't. Didn't love the fat jokes and stereotypes thrown in there for laughs.
Posy and Lucas go to the same private school and we’re head boy and girl. They absolutely hate each other. But when they meet up years later at a reunion, they decide to try to enact one of the school’s policies: that if the head boy and girl decide to get married, the school pays for it. Okay needs money cause she was cut off from her rich father for having no purpose, and Lucas needs Posy’s family connections for his wealth management business.

I actually only made it 70% of the way through before I DNF’d. There was just no character growth, I didn’t connect with the characters and they didn’t have a lot of redeeming qualities, unfortunately.

CW: sexual content, alcohol and drug use, heart attack, and bullying.
Unfortunately not for me. I didn't gel with the characters and found the overall vibe of the story was not what I was expecting. I did not finish this title
This book had me hooked! I couldn’t put it down. It did take a little while to get into, but once we’d reached the action, I was obsessed. Lucas and Posy were Head Boy and Head Girl at their private school, and naturally they did not get along. Posy comes from money, where Lucas’ parents were the Gardener’s at the school. Flash forward ten years at the school reunion and Posy has been financially cut off, but to properly kick start her photography career she needs to get to Hawaii. Lucas’ company is about to fall through and is in desperate need of clients.
‘You aren’t just some chaotic wanderer to be corrected, Posy, you’re a force to be reckoned with.’
Posy remembers the old by-law stating if a Head Boy and Head Girl get married then the school has to pay for the wedding and honeymoon. Posy comes up with a plan and attempts to get Lucas on board, she will get Lucas clients if they have their fake honeymoon in Hawaii. Obviously this is a childhood nemesis to lovers story and I ate it up! There was lots of tension between these characters; it was the perfect summer read. If you liked the premise of It Happened One Summer, then maybe give this a chance!
I love a good enemies to lovers trope and I enjoyed this one! It was a slow burn but a bit too slow at times and the character development was minimal. I did enjoy the romance aspects and the relationship between the two main characters! I would recommend for enemies to lovers fans!
