"Instincts can speak volumes but you have to listen to them. Even if it means going against everything you thought you knew."

The way this story is told was very captivating. I had lots of fun reading this book and can't wait for the next one.

What a delight THE REUNION is! I love the enemies-to-lovers theme, and the plot of two people faking their romance and accidentally falling in love in the process. These themes are used in a lot of stories for good reason, and this is no exception.

Lucas and Posy are both flawed characters in the best possible way, and by the end you'll love them for who they are, having joined them both on their own journeys. Not to mention all the other characters too: colourful, funny and delightfully-drawn.

I can't wait to see what's next from Elizabeth Drummond!

The Reunion held a lot of promise with some of my fav tropes (fake dating, enemies-to-lovers). The premise of high school enemies reuniting at their 10 year reunion felt like it held a lot of potential for fun banter and tension.
Unfortunately, the specifics of this book didn’t work for me. I struggled relating to or feeling sympathetic towards Posy’s character. Her immaturity was hard to get past. I also didn’t really feel the chemistry or tension between her and Lucas.
I thought some of the scenes trying to fake a wedding/relationship were entertaining, but ultimately I was skimming to the end.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this book, and unfortunately I did not enjoy it. The overall storyline/plot were what initially intrigued me, but it just wasn't enough. I found the writing and pacing of the story fell flat for me. I typically enjoy banter (strong rom/com). And I often enjoy a closed door romance book too. Technically this book should have been right up my ally, but I found it hard to read it. I felt like I was dragging and forcing myself the entire time. The characters just weren't interesting enough. Their growth was minimal at best. And I cannot deal with a miscommunication trope. You're adults, talk. I just didn't like the characters enough or care about their problems. Also a lot of the humor was the characters saying ugly and rude things to each other or about one another and that just isn't funny or interesting to me.

Fake dating and enemies to lovers are my favorite tropes, and I was looking forward to reading this one when I saw the synopsis. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work in this book because Posy, the main character, is so unlikable.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

I'm definitely a fan of fake dating and was excited to start this book! While I enjoyed my time, it was kind of bland.

There wasn't a crazy amount of character development and both leads were a bit one dimensional. I had a nice time reading, but wasn't anything crazy amazing.

2.5 stars rounded up.

I’ve never laughed so hard as I did while reading this one. It’s the perfect summer read for 2022 so make sure you all add it to your TBR. The main characters were lovable, the plot was amusing and the pacing was sheer perfection. Not too slow, not too fast. I couldn’t have asked for a better romcom to break up my fantasy and thriller reads.

Lucas and Posy meet up again after ten years. All has not gone as swimmingly since they were head boy and head girl at school. Coming from such different backgrounds. They were enemies at school. Will this be an enemies to lovers story? I did find their plan for success to be stretching credibility a little but their fake engagement did give lots of opportunities for some humour. You also see some character development through their twin points of view as their relationship moves on. This is a light, entertaining read so long as you can go along with the basic premise of the story.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book

The Reunion was a cute story and a quick and easy read. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

This was a cute read. It was very surface-level, which is just what you need sometimes when reading a rom-com!

I didn't love this book as much as I thought I would have.
It was advertised as Enemies to Lovers, which I usually love, but I felt like this missed the angst of the enemies to lovers plot. There was also 'marriage of convenience', which I'm not a huge fan of.
The book is a VERY slow burn, which I found dragged at times and I often found myself getting bored.
The characters were badly written and I didn't see much development in any of them.
I really wanted to love this book but it just didn't do it for me, it took me a few months to finish it if I'm honest and I had to keep forcing myself to go back to it.

Tropes: enemies to lovers and marriage of
convenience
This is a dual pov, enemies to lovers romance between
two former high school rivals. Posy and Lucas were
complete opposites in high school and after meeting
again years later at their school reunion, it seems as
though nothing has changed. When Posy gets cut off
from her family's money and Lucas's business is
months away from failing, the two decide to enter into a
marriage of convenience thinking it will solve both of
their problems.
The romance is a slow burn with the leads not getting
together until over halfway through the book. I love a
good marriage of convenience but this book slightly
missed the mark for me. I would've liked to see more of
Posy and Lucas warming up to one another before
getting together.

The reunion was a great concept and have everything I usually love in a book - enemies to lovers, slow burns, etc. Unfortunately it couldn't get me all the way there. I didn't love our main heroine, and it didn't matter much how much I learned about her I never fully could sympathize. And all though it was a slow burn, I feel like the romance went form 0 for most of the book, to 100 for the last part.

I really enjoyed this read. Although it was a little predictable, it also deserved a nice chuckle here and there. I would recommend this romcom

This is a dual POV, enemies to lovers romance between two past high school rivals. I just loved Posy and Lucas even with their flaws. I liked how they were able to get to know the person they believed they hated at school. In the end, this was not the same typical romance I did find myself liking the uniqueness of it.

The blurb made me curious and I was curious how this arrangement will work out.

The author really surprised me with the plot. Especially how the protagonists have developed in the few weeks.

Here you read about a chaotic planning and a great enemies to lovers story.

I was very entertained by the book.

Have fun reading!

I LOVE opposites attract! Unfortunately, I didn’t like the characters so this one made it hard for me to enjoy. I was hoping for a bit more Tessa Bailey humor like the description said.

I enjoyed this for the most part, it’s an enemies-to-lovers / fake-marriage trope where Posy who has recently been cut off by her Dad, meets her former classmate Lucas who has a struggling business, at a high school reunion. It’s a bit of a slow burn and I thought the writing was good, but the characters felt unlikeable and the chemistry wasn’t always there.

This book got better as it went along. At first I was annoyed by the characters, but that was also kind of the point. LOL. As the book moves along you find more of the characters' humanities and why they are the way they are. I never fell truly in love with them, but it was still a delightful book to read!

I love my romcoms but sadly, I really struggled with this one. It was hard to get into the story, the characters were unlikable (especially Posy) and to be fair, I didn't feel all that excited about her getting a happy ending. I ended up skimming to finish this one.
