Judging from the positive reviews this book has received, I have to believe my copy just didn't download correctly. Formatting issues made it virtually unreadable. The plot, which was fine (if a touch predictable), was compelling enough that I'm mostly glad I slogged through.

This is a 2nd book in the series. I really enjoyed the first book and was excited to jump into this one. Jenny is a vet in a small town. She lives there with her husband, Mark, and two children. When the woman that Mark had an affair with, Jenny starts to worry that she is the one that took her. Jenny suffers from blackouts since she was a child. She sleepwalks and cannot remember what happens during those times. Jenny also is the daughter of a serial killer. A fact that she has kept hidden from everyone in her life.
I enjoyed the followup on the previous book and the hook that seems like there might be a third book. I felt this book was a little slower getting to the crux of the book, but enjoyed it just the same. Thank you NetGalley for my opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with this book for an honest review.

I’ll start by saying I haven’t heard of the first book in this series, The Serial Killer’s Wife, but will be trying to find it now that I’ve read this book. I loved this book and it was the kind where you know things aren’t quite adding up but your not sure how they’re meant to add up. The story flowed well and the main characters were interesting while also intriguing and not too crazy that you didn’t want to find out what actually happened.

After reading the authors precious book, I wS excited to get stuck into this one and it didn't disapoint! This is one kf those books that just get under your skin and won't let up until the last page. I thought I knew what was happening but I really didn't see all of those twists coming until they were actually revealed. It was just a sheer delight to read and I found myself reaching for it every spare minute I had. I just couldn't get enough and needed answers!!! I'm not sure how I feel about the ending but it definitely gets you thinking.......

This is my first book from the author, so I don't know any clues or relate information with the first book. First of all I like the MC who fighting so hard to find her happiness. With all her weakness and limited condition she active to do everything to prove her self as better one. Writtens from several POV and flip flop plots between nowdays and childhood memories, this story still easy to follow. The pace is fast and keep us sitting in edge. The twist and turn not really shocking but this still enjoyable read for me.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with this book.

This book was always going to snap my attention just from the title. I understand that the Author’s daughter book is called The Serial Killer’s Wife however I haven’t read it but got to start by saying I’m going to be getting a copy after reading this one.

In this novel, we jump straight in with both feet, the novel being told through the eyes of Mark and Jenny, who are married and live in the countryside with their two children aged 6 and 8. Jenny is a vet and lives locally but there are clearly already a lot of secrets that they are keeping from each other, Jenny in particular in respect of her childhood holding onto a lot of resentment towards her mum who she has not seen since she left home aged 17. But Mark is not one to pry and is concerned about his wife as she has regular blackouts and night frights that he feels unable to deal with. Add to that the affair that the couple are still unable to really speak about, their relationship is clearly going through some pretty sensitive emotions.

But as if that wasn’t dramatic enough, Mark tells Jenny that there has been an abduction of a woman from the village, Olivia, who is the woman Mark was having an affair with. It’s made the National News and with the Police search comes Jenny and Mark’s own reflection and suspicion of each other. Jenny is already living on a nerve’s edge with dead animals being placed on her doorstep, something that is clearly intended for her but by whom, she could not possibly imagine.

One thing is clear, you’re in for a thrill of a ride in the hands of the Author. It’s exquisitely tense from the very beginning until the very ending.

I was really impressed by the fact that despite Jenny’s background, the dead animals turning up on the doorstep, the missing person all leading to the possibility that this was always going to be Jenny’s destiny as the daughter of a serial killer, you still have great passion for her character, understand what she’s going through and don’t want her to be the person responsible.

The Serial Killer’s Daughter is terribly compelling and I finished it in days as it swept me up in the whirlwind of wanting to know who could possibly be responsible and strangely wanting to know more about her father.

Everyone surrounding Jenny comes under suspicion including Jenny and her husband Mark which was very cleverly done and as it neared the end, I did have my suspicions but there were so many twists with the book being so fast paced, I really didn’t have time to consider in which direction the Author was taking us in which is something that I love about any thriller and I was completely immersed in both the characters and the story.

The world could’ve ended when I was reading this book and I wouldn’t have noticed.

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC. These opinions are honest and my own.

Meet Jenny. Local vet. Add into the mix, her husband Mark.Put them together in a sleepy Devon village.
Meet Olivia who goes missing after walking home from the pub. Now the games afoot. What happened to her?

Jenny is worried she will be a suspect as her husband has an affair with Olivia. Mark is worried as Jenny has blackouts and sleepwalks. The village is worried it will happen to someone else. Jenny has a past that she has not shared with her husband. Do letters from her father help her understand that past?

The book was a beauty. I just LOVED it. It was written in alternate chapters between Jenny and Mark, so almost felt like a conversation as opposed to a book. Several twists and questions arose throughout leaving me, not ready for the end. I’ll admit, I didn’t see that coming.
It was, what I term, an easy read. I finished it in 2 days. It was a pleasure to read. My list of preferred authors now gathering new names.

Thank you for a superb read.

I thoroughly enjoyed Hunters previous novel, The Serial Killers Wife, so of course I needed to read the follow up novel immediately. Jenny, a local and loving vet, naturally keeps her parentage a secret from her husband and colleagues - who would ever willingly tell everyone that her father is a notorious serial killer? Suddenly her world is turned upside down when a woman goes missing in their small town and someone is trying to point the finger at her. A slower burn than the previous novel it kept me intrigued especially with the ambiguous ending. Methinks another is coming soon.

In a sleepy Devon village, a woman is taken from the streets. Local vet Jenny is horrified. This kind of thing doesn’t happen here. But it’s not the first time she’s been so close to a crime scene. The daughter of a prolific serial killer, she’s spent her whole life running from who she really is. And the crime is harrowingly similar to those her father committed all those years ago…
But she’s not her father’s daughter. Is she?

I loved the Serial Killers Wife and was very eager to read this next book. Alice Hunter has a wonderful way of bringing her characters to life and that with a very engaging plot makes this another winner in my eyes. A woman disappears and it just happens that this woman had had an affair with her husband, was she now a suspect? This really is the heart of the story and Jenny sets off to find out the truth about what happened. This is a fast paced book with a great storyline that had me gripped to the pages and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending was also very satisfying and wrapped everything up nicely. As soon as I see another book by Alice I will purchasing it regardless of what it is about, I know she will not let me down. Highly recommended.

thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a copy of the book in return for an opinion that is purely mine.

I really enjoyed Alice Hunter's previous novel ‘The Serial Killer’s Wife’ and was thrilled to be invited to read I was The Serial Killers Daughter.

I found the tempo in this one slower, but the story of Jenny and who is tormenting her is gripping. I had my suspicions who it was and it varied throughout the book but there was enough red herrings to keep me guessing. The husband wasn't very supportive and seemed to have a lack of a remorse over the affair with the missing Olivia and I wish that more had been resolved in terms of Jenny's blackouts. However I thoroughly enjoyed the read.

Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for my advance copy in return for an unbiased review.

I enjoyed the first book by this author so I was looking forward to reading this one.

Jen appears to have it all, great marriage, lovely family, perfect job but underneath the surface, her life is slightly out of sync. When a local woman goes missing and dead animals are left on Jen’s doorstep, it brings back horrific childhood memories. But Jen has never told anyone about her family’s past secrets, so who has discovered who she is and who can she trust?

A suspenseful thriller which was an easy read.

Loved the cover and title of this book.

Is Jenny just like her father? Her father is the Painted Lady Killer and killed 5 woman. He did lots of damage to his little princess by taking her on adventures.

Now she has blackouts and doesn't know what happened during the night. Did she take Olivia? How did all these dead animals get by her house? Did she do it or someone targeting her? You really think Jenny is loosing her mind and she has no idea who to trust.

Jenny is horrified when a woman is taken off the streets - that sort of thing never happens here. The crime is chillingly similar to that committed by her serial killer father... but she's not her father's daughter, is she?

A thrilling sequel that keeps you turning the pages. Gripping and exciting. Recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

I was totally gripped from the first page to the last, suspicious of everyone and everything. A tense, faced paced thriller that will keep you up at night.

Alice Hunters first book The Serial Killers Wife was a surprise top read for me last year so I was very excited to get an ARC of her second novel. Though I think the first one intrigued me a little more this one definitely did not disappoint. Like her first this book is full of twists and red herrings that finally when you think you have an idea of who done it a twist will flip it all around. I love the short chapters altering different points of view of Jenny, Mark and a unidentified third person. You know the writing is good when you go from loving to hating a character in one chapter while second guessing if they are innocent or not. Definitely recommend this one for a suspenseful, entertaining quick read. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book that I have read by this author. I didn't know this book was the second in a series so my review is based on this book alone and without any information that may have been given in the first book. To start, I liked this author's writing style. The book was told from a few different perspectives (Jenny's, Mark's, letters between Jenny and her dad, the bad guy's, etc) but it was easy to follow. The suspense was there throughout. While I didn't really see the ending coming, it made sense when the explanations were all given. 3.5 - 4 stars.
