Another fabulous thriller by Alice Hunter. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to read this after loving the Serial Killers Wife. There are plenty of twists in this fast paced read and I highly recommend it.

This was a gripping book that kept up the suspense right till the end! I was a little worried whether I'd be able to follow this book as I hadn't read The Serial Killer's Wife but this isn't exactly a sequel even if it's set in the same universe, so other readers like me will have no problem reading and enjoying The Serial Killer's Daughter. Jenny, a local veteranian, mom, married to Mark, suffers from night terrors and occasional blackouts. She's not had the easiest childhood, her dad being a serial killer, and her mom not being great, but Jenny's worked hard to move on and she just wants a normal, happy life. All that is jeopardized when Jenny wakes from one of her blackouts with dirt under her nails, and later realizes a local woman who Jenny doesn't get on with has gone missing that same night. The thrills and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and I was genuinely surprised at some of the twists in this book. Following Jenny as she tries to make sense of what's happened and whether she's following in her dad's footsteps is nervewracking in the best way, and I read this book really quickly because I had to know the ending.

Great follow up to The Serial Killer’s Wife, although not necessary to read the first one.
Jennifer is prone to blackouts and wandering, worse when she is stressed. And her husband has really stressed her recently.
When a local woman with ties to their family goes missing, does Jennifer’s black outs and muddy clothes have something to do with it? Or is it her secret family she has kept hidden from those in her life?

This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Avon Books UK and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

I didn’t want to put this one down once I started. If you’re a fan of enticing thrillers, this will fit the bill.

Just like The Serial Killer's wife I had difficulty doing anything other than reading this book once I had started it!

The characters are interesting and each twist, as they develop, brings out more reasons to keep reading to find out exactly where this ride will lead. As with the first book, I really didn't see the ending coming until it started to unravel and even then, there was a surprise included!

With how much I have enjoyed these books, I have to now add Alice Hunter to my list of authors that I automatically buy any new books from, they both really have been that good!

Thank you for the ARC, closer to the release date I will put some posts on Social media about this too.

Having enjoyed the authors previous work ‘The Serial Killer’s Wife’ I was excited to receive #TheSerialKillersDaughter and I was not disappointed!

I read this in one sitting. It was fast paced and had lots of red herrings to keep me guessing. I can’t wait to see what Alice Hunter comes up with next. The serial killer’s mother, anyone?

Thank you to the publisher and #NetGalley for my free advance copy in return for an unbiased review.

What a thrilling read. Kept me guessing who the guilty person was. Jenny didn't have a great childhood as her father went to prison for a very long time and she has never told anyone the truth as she worries that they will think that she has his evil genes.
A local woman has gone missing and Jenny is worried as she has been having more blackouts lately and she doesn't know where she disappears too. But would she really have done anything like that? Her husband Mark is worried about her and he knows that she is hiding something. But could she really have anything to do with the missing woman? He knows that she has reason to dislike the woman as he broke his vows.
Is Jenny losing her mind as she has started to find dead animals that have been left for her but could it be someone from her past? Is it her insane mother that wants to keep trying to destroy her life?
Mark is about to do something that will change everything it and not in the best way. Jenny is destroyed but she isn't willing to go without a fight. She knows that she can find the answers that everyone is looking for but at what cost?
A great thrilling read. We all have family secrets but Jenny's is so dark. Her father really messed with her mind I am surprised that she is still so normal. Did not like Mark he was too weak for Jenny he needed to trust her more yes she wasn't completely honest but what he did was so wrong.
So many interesting characters they each added to the storyline and just when I thought that I knew who it was it wasn't.
I received an ARC copy from Netgalley & the publisher Avon. The above is my voluntary honest review

Alice Hunter is a genius!! Stand up and take a bow because you are truly amazing!! Wow what a book!!! I’m unsure where to start with this one, I definitely don’t know how a written review will do this justice.

We are introduced to Jenny, a local vet and member of the community. Only, it becomes evident that Jenny has secrets, even from her husband. Hunter fans will know a little about Jenny from the previous book. Jenny is the daughter of a serial killer.

This is a book filled with twists and turns. I have devoured page after page. The tension builds and you can’t help but be desperate to know how this plays out. There are characters you cannot help but be suspicious of- my suspicions were definitely directed at the wrong characters.

This has been completely unpredictable and OMG THAT ENDING!!!! I need more!! I’m really hoping that there is more to come because Hunter cannot leave it like that! I’ve literally been like “nooooo”

There are a number of elements to this book- the nightmares and black outs Jenny experiences due to her past. The secrets she has kept as well as the automatic- guilty by association. Hunter has created a literary gem and this is a masterpiece.

This moves at the perfect pace, we are fed enough information to crave more detail and feel the tension as you work through the pages. The book is written in a way that transports you, you feel connected to the characters and as though you are there.

Hunter is definitely an author to watch out for and is automatically on my must buy list. I will 100% be recommending this masterpiece. I cannot say anything negative about it.

The Serial Killer's Daughter is the second book in a series, having come after the Serial Killer's wife, which was one of my favourite debuts of 2021

While this one is still a good read, it does not live up to its predecessor and at times just fell flat. A lot of the issues in this book could have been solved if the characters just tried to talk honestly with each other for once. Overall still fun and entertaining to read

The Serial Killer's Daughter by Alice Hunter

In a sleepy Devon village, a woman is taken from the streets. Local vet Jenny is horrified. This kind of thing doesn’t happen here.
But it’s not the first time she’s been so close to a crime scene. The daughter of a prolific serial killer, she’s spent her whole life running from who she really is.
And the crime is harrowingly similar to those her father committed all those years ago…
I thought The Serial Killer's Wife was a brilliant read and looked forward to her next title. How clever to come up with the idea for this one.
Really enjoyed the the telling of the story through Jenny and was gripped from the start.
Great characters ( even the badies ! ) and a fantastic conclusion .
Alice Hunter you've done it again.

Another fabulous thriller by Alice Hunter. I loved the first book and was therefore super excited to read this one. It certainly didn’t disappoint and I devoured it in one day.
It’s a fast paced read with plenty of twists and one I’d definitely recommend.

I was excited for this one - but, I got super confused… because of how the first book ended and the similar covers, I thought this was a sequel rather than another standalone book. For this reason I spent the first 5% trying to figure out who was who and what was going on.

The premise of the story is great, I enjoyed the idea of questioning your own identity and capabilities based on the actions of your parents.

There were subtle clues to the perpetrator in the book, but I always think if you have a good motive and good story, it doesn't matter if you guess or suspect the killer. This one swerved around deliberately leading the suspicion in different directions.

The ending was good - without wanting to give spoilers, there were kind of two parts to the ending. One part, great ending and pleased with how it ended up. So many “what ifs?” as well in there around what could have changed this outcome. The other part to the ending, after the big reveal, where as readers we need to have the last bits and pieces tied up… I also enjoyed how that panned out!

Did I enjoy this as much as Alice Hunters debut book? No. It wasn't quite as gripping - but maybe some of that was my confusion at the start. This said, it was still a cracking read that I will be recommending!

Looking forward to the next one!

I read this in one very short sitting, I was completely hooked, I even took it to the toilet with me. Well written with a compelling storyline and well developed characters. It started of slow but the pacing increased as the tension in the plot increased. It was intense, gripping, twisty and unpredictable, I loved it.

I received an advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review

This one was a slower burn than the first, and a bit less “psychological,” but I still enjoyed it. The interviews between the killers were great fun. I lol forward to where the author will go next.

3.5 rounded up

I truly enjoyed The Serial Killer's Wife!
When I seen The Serial Killer’s Daughter, I had to get my little fingers on a copy!

Alice Hunter has done it again with another one of her binge-worthy suspense thrillers!
The Serial Killer’s Daughter is a tense, taut thriller that pulls you along with it right to the last page.
I loved this book. Once I picked this novel up I didn’t put it down. Read in one sitting.
Not one moment did this book slow down to allow you to catch your breath.
The twist at the ending is so cleverly written that I was left thinking about it for a long time after.
Such an addictive read!
