Amara had me rooting for her from the start, and adding Lennox into the mix was pure fire! Loved this book so much!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is wonderful. I really enjoyed it. It's the third book in a series and I have not read the other two books, but I was still able to enjoy it.

LaQuette has a new fan! The book gave me everything and usually I am not a fan of the alpha male types but you did such a great job with Lennox and Amara gave as good as she got it was a nice balance relationship wise. I also loved how we saw them both fall so helplessly in love with one another, as their family and friends watched it unfold right before their eyes. As much as a love the baby trope often times it's too drawn out and we it gets repetitive; however, that is not the case and the pregnancy is written really well so do not let that determine whether you read this book! I had to give this book five stars for the L.L. Cool J reference it really was the cherry on top! I look forward to reading more from LaQuette, she's in a league of her own!

One Night Expectations begins with Amara Devereaux Rodriquez finding out that that she didn’t get a promotion to head Legal Counsel of the company because her grandfather feels she’s not ready. Amara tries to unwind at an exclusive lounge to lick her wounds and figure out her next move, when a sexy man with golden brown skin, hazel eyes and full lips, interrupts her thoughts. For a perfect stranger, he knows what she needs most. Amara has no problem expressing what she wants; one night with no inhibitions.

Lennox Carlisle is a corporate lawyer and city council member who is running for mayor. He knows he made the wrong decision, but can’t get his mind off his brief, but steamy encounter with “Angel”. Needless to say, Amara and Lennox discover their one night came with a little more than they bargained for. The situation forces them to make some decisions and get to know each other, beyond their physical bond.

Laquette continues to focus on the importance of family in the series. Even in his weakening state, great uncle Ace always know what his family needs. He wants Amara to have someone who will love, support and protect her. Lennox is thankful for his best friend Carter who talks some sense into him when he needs it. One Night Expectations is packed with plenty of heat, as well as positive family interactions, and I highly recommend it.

One Night Expectations by LaQuette, book three in the Devereaux series has it share of family drama, and two very strong-minded characters. Amara Devereaux-Rodriguez loves her grandfather but believes he fails to recognize her abilities in the family company. After a difficult day at work and needing a drink, she doesn’t expect to run into mayoral candidate Lennox Carlisle, the one person her grandfather wants her to stay away from. Unfortunately, a one-night stand turns into the kind of trouble she was not anticipating; trouble that changes the lives of both Amara and Lennox. This led to a mix of drama, putting on a ring on Amara’s finger, getting married, and angst between these two. Amara and Lennox might be faking a relationship while married but being together just might lead to growing stronger feelings for each other.

This is a smart, steamy, emotional romance. I enjoyed seeing these powerful characters face off and force each other to confront their vulnerabilities. Amara's relationship with her family added depth to the story. This enjoyable story kept my attention from beginning to end. I highly recommend One Night Expectations to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the 3rd book in the “Devereaux Series” that has it share of family drama, awesome characters and plot. This is an awesome that kept me enthralled from the beginning to the end. I love the fact that Amara is a strong woman in her family business. Disappointed with her grandfather’s interference in her plans for the company, Amara makes her way to a local bar for a drink. What Amara did not expect to find was mayoral candidate Lennox; so, when he makes his presence known there is an instant attraction. The two have a hot passionate night between the sheets. What they did not expect was for Amara to get pregnant. With Lennox running for mayor, he cannot afford a scandal.

So, what’s the solution to Lennox and Amara unexpected pregnancy, put on a ring on Amara’s finger and get married, fake a relationship or play it by ear, or does it really matter, will Lennox win his mayoral bid and Amara be the 1st lady?

Stung by her grandfather's interference in her plans for the family business, Amara heads to a snazzy bar to let off some steam. When mayoral candidate Lennox approaches her, she's instantly attracted. It was just supposed to be an evening together, but now they face the possibility of an unexpected pregnancy. Lennox can't afford a scandal this close to election day. Is marriage the solution?

This is a smart, steamy, emotional romance. I enjoyed seeing these powerful characters face off and force each other to confront their vulnerabilities. Amara's relationship with her family added depth to the story.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I don’t like pregnancy as a trope. I really despise it but Laquette is the only, one that is read. The glam and glitz of this third entry in the DeVeaux Inc series didn’t disappoint. Talk about sexy, swooning over Lennox! Jeesh he was one of the hottest MCs I’ve read in a whole

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin/Harlequin Desire for this ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review. All opinions are my own. Scheduled to be released on April 26, 2022.

“One Night Expectations” by LaQuette, new author to this reader was an enjoyable romance story. Amara Devereaux-Rodriguez loves her grandfather but feels he is overlooking her abilities in the family company. After a troublesome day at work and needing a drink, she doesn’t expect to run into Lennox Carlisle the one person her grandfather wants her to steer clear of. Unfortunately, a one-night stand turns into the kind of trouble she was not anticipating…trouble that changes the lives of both Amara and Lennox. There was a mix of drama, a fake marriage and angst between the H/h. Well-written story that engaged my attention from beginning to end.

This is a Romance, and this is the third book in the Devereaux series. I have not read the other books in this series, but I do not think that took away from my enjoyment of this book. I loved the characters in this book, and I enjoyed the romance and the drama in this book. The romance in this book was one night stand turn into a fake marriage. This is not a cute fun romance, but it is a romance of two hard headed business people. I loved there was drama mixed into the romance. This book pulled me into it from the beginning, and it kept me wanting to not put it down. I really enjoyed this book and love every minute I spent reading this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Desire) or author (LaQuette) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on April 26-2022.
