Sadly, I just could not get into this book. I loved the premise and had very high hopes for this book! That being said, I could not stand the main character. Several things that she did in the beginning didn’t make sense. She was so whiny with her daughter. Plus, I strongly disliked the unnecessary lie she told right off to start of the list. I’m glad Lily, aka Lydia found herself and her happiness through your the story. Jake was a wonderful character, as were many of the other side characters.

I’m seeing lots other positive reviews, so I’m probably in the minority.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy to read and review.

This was a super sweet and lighthearted romance that was the ideal summer read. I really enjoyed the premise and I also loved that the main character was a divorcee looking for a second chance at romance. I didn't love Lydia at first but she experiences so much character growth that I couldn't help but root for her HEA. Jake was by far more likable and I loved that they both helped each other heal in different ways.

Will post review on Amazon upon publication

Who doesn't love a bucket list? The one in this story is definitely one with a difference, for a start it's found in the bottom of a shopping trolley.
A nice easy to read tale, perfect for relaxing with on your sunbed or in a sunny garden

I just couldn't get in to this one. I couldn't gel with the main character. I did like lots of the supporting cast though and they made it more interesting.

I seem to be very much in the minority but not one for me I'm afraid.

I really enjoyed this. I wasn't actually expecting to find it quite so uplifting - I was instead rather anticipating a light read, with a relatively predictable storyline. The storyline does follow the tried and tested and always welcome trope of 'not looking for love, but finds it anyway' romance novel we all enjoy, but does it in such a way it holds your interest, entertains at every turn of the page and rewards with that happy, warm feeling inside. And what Bea learns, we can all learn from - jut be yourself. Smile with your whole face, plunge into every new and scary experience and discover the fierce, capable woman you truly are.

After bumping into her ex husband and his glamourous new girlfriend at the supermarket Lydia realises she needs to do something drastic to win him back. Serendipitously, she finds the bucket list of Lilly Bennett at the bottom of her shopping trolly, so instead of coming up with her own list, she decides to complete this one.

Along with a new friend Jake, who believes she is Lilly, Lydia starts ticking off the adventures. Making memories and getting closer to Jake in the process. But at what point does she reveal the truth about her identity and will Jake ever forgive her?

This had me gripped from the start. I loved the growing confidence of Lydia and her strength to change.

A true story about finding yourself and being true.
Lydia is recently divorced, in love with her ex husband and missing her daughter dearly.
She’s grieving for the life she had or thought she had. She finds a bucket list and picks it up.
Meanwhile she absently tells her travelling daughter about it and she decides to shake her mums life up a bit.
Jake makes contact and they decide to work through the list together platonically!
This book is so good, it’s about being you and grabbing chances.
I loved it so much.

Lily Bennett’s Bucket List by Katherine Dyson, is a story of a woman recently out of a lengthy marriage who finds Lily Bennet’s bucket list at the bottom of a shopping trolley. Lydia adopts the bucket list and works through it with Jake, who believes her to be Lily. Through completing the list, Lydia faces some fears and grows as a person. This was a feel good read, with well-written and mostly likeable characters.

This was a lovely, feel good story. Lydias' marriage comes to and end after 20 years as her husband wants a more exciting life! She then finds Lily Bennetts' Bucket list in her shopping basket and decides she is going to be adventurous. She hooks up with Jake who agrees to help her complete her challenges, although she doesn't tell him she isn't Lily.. This is hilarious in parts and sad in others but Lydia has an amazing family who have her back. My kind of conclusion.

What would Lily Bennett do?

This is the question Lydia Grey finds herself asking when she discovers Lily’s bucket list at the bottom of her shopping trolley. Having just run into her ex – and his supermodel gorgeous new girlfriend – while doing the walk of shame, Lydia’s discovery takes her down an unexpected path…and into the company of Jake Jones.

Jake mistakes Lydia for Lily when he offers to help her complete the list, but tempted to be someone – anyone – other than plain old Lydia Grey for once in her life, Lydia doesn’t correct him.

Now, as each new adventure brings Lydia and Jake closer, her lie threatens everything. To complete the list she’ll need to tackle #9: ‘do the scariest thing you can think of’, but how can she do that when the scariest thing she can think of is telling Jake the truth…which could mean losing him forever….

Such a well crafted novel, compelling enough to pull you through and very quick read. I enjoyed it so much from the first page till the end. A good story like this needs a quiet afternoon, a sofa and a warm blanket. Moving and heartfelt! Enjoy! Whimsical but never frivolous, sweet but not sugary, deeply kind rather than merely nice. I loved it.

Loved this book enormously. It was such a fun read, and I really enjoyed the culture and message. It had a less traditional outcome than romance novels and featured someone of a different age bracket, which I found refreshing and relatable. Thank you for creating a relatable and inspirational book that was so enjoyable to read.

Lydia cannot seem to get over her husband leaving her because she was boring. On her way home from a terrible date, she finds a paper entitled Lily’s Bucket List. She decides to do the list to become more attractive to her ex. On a dating app, Lydia asks for some one to complete the tasks with her. She is up front with Jake from the start telling him she wants to win her husband back. Jake Jones suggests a meeting and seeing the title, assumes Lydia is Lily and she does not correct him. Lydia does not like herself and decides she would rather be Lily. I loved this book. Lydia now lives at home and is subjected to her mother’s criticism of how she lives her life. When Jake comes into her life, he supports her and sees a different woman altogether. Jake has a lot of secrets himself and concentrates on being the person Lydia needs him to be so she can feel better about herself. The items on the list made the book lots of fun. Surfing lessons, horseback riding and camping had me laughing out loud. This is at the top of my favorite reads this summer.

Let me start by saying, this book was a big breath of fresh air. It inspired me to write my own bucket list and to tackle adventures that would normally terrify me. Lily Bennet’s Bucket List is an incredible book. I feel in love with all of the characters. Lydia, Jake, Ollie, Aga, Tosh, Mila, and etc. They all hold a special place in my heart when I think about this book.

This book is fantastic and shares a great message to its readers. Hold onto those who bring out the best of you and let go of the ones who try to change you. This book gives you strangers to lovers, adventure, love, tears, and so many laughs. I have can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard while reading a book.

The amount of times I laughed at the different ways Jake “broke” his arm, hilarious. Every single one of them. Phenomenal.

If you’re looking for a book that will inspire adventure and to get you out of your comfort zone while still getting that Rom Com feel, this is the book for you.

Thanks to Netgalley, HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter, and Katherine Dyson for early access to this arc. I can’t wait to read everyone’s reactions when it comes out September 9th.

Oh what a book!

I absolutely loved the premise of the plot. Lydia is stuck in a bit of a rut after separating from her husband and when she finds Lily Bennett's bucket tlist in a shopping basket she decides to go for it and complete it... even though she's never done anything like any of the things on the list before.

Jake offers to help with the list after meeting Lydia on a dating app although she accidentally lets him think that she's Lily and not Lydia!

I really enjoyed watching Lydia and Jake's friendship unfold, with it being clear that Jake was also keeping something from Lydia. The two are very different and sort of looking for a new start a bit later in life. I liked the fact that these characters weren't the usual 20 somethings but instead had histories and things that made them who they were.

This was such a fun book to read and one I couldn't put down.

Lydia Grey is at a particularly low ebb when she finds a bucket list in the bottom of her shopping trolley. Deciding her life could do with a reboot Lydia takes the list and makes it her own. With encouragement from her daughter, Lydia quickly finds herself a companion, Jake, to share her adventures. Unfortunately Jake is under the impression that Lydia is called Lily Bennett, the original author of the list.
As they cross things off the list Lydia and Jake become closer but how can anything happen when they are both keeping secrets that could tear them apart.
Funny and heart-warming, you’ll enjoy Lydia’s adventures as she works her way through Lily Bennetts bucket list and tries to find herself along the way.

Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I found myself struggling to get invested in Lydia's story for the majority of the book. About 3/4 of the way through is where I began to really look forward to the next chapters. What I did enjoy was Lydia's character growth and seeing her fall in love with herself. I thought the adventures were awesome and I enjoyed watching the romance between her and Jake blossom.

Overall, I would recommend this book as it was a light and happy read!

So many people have a bucket list, including me, either one for later or like me, working through it bit by bit as when something can be ticked off.
Lydia Grey's life is often dull, as dull as the colour grey when there's no light and shade and atmosphere to it, say like you would see in a painting. It's just plain dull! Even her husband, since left, even though after so many years together, because she had become drab and boring.
Then life spices up quite significantly and brightness shines through, along with a whole array of colours and experiences when she discovers Lily Bennett's bucket list at the bottom of a shopping trolley. Lily is a complete stranger to Lydia, but this list looks adventurous, so she gets brave and decides to make her way down it doing all the activities on it. Then the excitement and wonderful adventures begin!
Jake assumes Lydia is Lily and she doesn't put him right, which later causes a bit of trepidation and wonder about what she is going to do when it comes to it, as they embark on the adventures together.

It's a sweet, uplifting read with an edge of bittersweetness. It's a really nice debut novel for readers to settle down and relax into, with its warmth, romance and humour.

I really enjoyed Lily Bennet’s Bucket List.
Lydia Grey is stuck in a serious rut.
At almost forty, separated from her husband and back living at home with her parents. She's stuck in a job she hates and is going on awful date after awful date.
So when she finds Lily Benentt's bucket list in the bottom of her shopping trolley she decides to throw caution to the wind and complete the tasks.
In this bold move she decides to needs someone to help chivvy her along in this bucket list mission and enlists a companion Jake to help her. And so Lydia becomes Lily as her life seems so much more exciting than her dull grey one!

A delightful rom-com inspired novel, this book is equal parts romance and self-growth.
There's humor, romance, bromance, heartache, and laughter.
This book was cute, light-hearted and an easy read.
And who knows, Lily Bennett’s Bucket List might just inspire you to create one of your own – I did a 30 before 30 bucketlist and highly recommend.
