exchange for an honest review!

I requested this on a whim as the cover enticed me and I’m so glad I did! This book is super easy to read, so entertaining and utterly enjoyable.

There are outright occurrences of sexual assault / harassment and blatant sexism so please be aware of this before reading!!

Overall I am so glad I requested this book & cannot wait to read more from the author.

Truth or tequila: This book was good ! Good enough to make me want to read the next book. I felt like the main characters didn’t really have a lot of chemistry but it was okay. 3/5

I loved this book. The female character was so strong and the male character was sweet. It's refreshing to see a female main character who isn't a shrinking violet. This is a funny, short & easy book so i flew through it in a day.

A fun and easy read!
I enjoyed the character development and the plot, but I felt as though the pacing was a bit off. And sometimes I felt the romance was a little bit too unconvincing - also I didn’t enjoy the sort of insta-love.. and the miscommunication also was a no for me.

The title really was intriguing and it did not disappoint. A fun romance with a strong female main character that knows what she wants.

2.5/5 Stars rounded down to 2 (It was okay)

I really wanted to like this, I swear. Unfortunately, it just didn't deliver.

Sophie is a PR Consultant who is hired to sniff out the scandals someone is hiding for the major league baseball team, on which Sebastian (Seb) is a member. This book is written from both MC's perspectives.

The relationship between Sophie and Seb is forbidden, which I don't have a problem with. And I usually can handle insta-love. However, the way their relationship developed just isn't it. This is written like a 17 year old's fanfiction, but it's the author's 4th novel.

The entirety of Seb's internal monologue is how if anybody gets near Sophie, he wants to beat them up because he's so protective of her. That's a yikes from me. Sophie is just kind of forgettable, even though everyone describes her as the opposite. We don't even know what they like about each other, except that they're both attractive.

The main conflict of the story doesn't happen until a 3rd of the way in, but is wrapped up without much detail, but it should have been the most exciting part!

Overall, if you like insta-love and a quick read, this one's for you. Otherwise, pass.

Thank you Netgalley, St. Martin's Press, and Donna Schwartze for access to this ARC.

A steamy romantic comedy about good timing, bad temptation, and way too much tequila.

Seb’s the most famous baseball player in the world. Sophie’s not impressed. Game on.

As someone who loathes baseball, I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. I fell in love with all the different characters. A badass, feminist main character who doesn't let anyone kick her around? Yes please! A respectful love interest who is able to be protective without coming across as misogynistic or patronizing? Uhh check! This book has about a medium amount of steam, which I think perfectly balances the rom-com energy throughout the novel. Definitely give this book a read. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one in the series!

This book was adorable. Mild on the heat but had me smiling from beginning to end. I loved every one of the characters and I can't wait to read more from Donna Schwartze.

This novel had a lot of potential, I love a sports rom coms but it fell short.
The instalove troupe wasn’t done well. The two MC went from “keeping their distance” and not dating while working together. To hanging out alone for the first time, eating dinner and having sex within a page or two… than Seb professing is feelings and stating he will never break her heart and asking over and over if she trusts him… they knew each other for no time at all and she knows he’s keeping secrets from her but she says yes.
Honestly the book just felt rushed and choppy, there was several times I had to re read conversations or pages just to figure out who was talking or what was going on in that scene.
I can see why people might love the book, a very quick easy read. But if you compare it to any popular “rom-coms” it doesn’t stand up.

I'm not a huge fan of insta-love, and it really only works for me if I truly believe it - in this case, I didn't.

I mostly enjoyed Truth or Tequila! It was very readable and flowed easily. Seb was swoon worthy and I loved that he was a baseball player. There was some cute banter but I could have gone for even more!

The insta love trope didn’t allow for very much tension, so I thought the relationship stayed surface level. I would have liked a little more depth.

Thank you to NetGalley for the e-copy!

"Truth or Tequila" was pretty much exactly what I expected. A quick, funny romcom read that was easy to digest.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a simple, funny romcom.

A cute sports romance with a side story that kept my interest! I didn’t think I’d love a sports romance as much as I did this one. From the first chapter, I loved the sarcasm and banter between the characters. As the story grew, I wish I had a best friend that stood up for her as much as she did. The story of friendship, love, family, relationship between mother and son, this book was excellent!

Highly recommend!! My first book to read by this author but definitely not my last!! Uniquely and beautifully written, this story and its characters stay with you long after you finish the book.

I quite liked this sports rom com, a fun and quick read. Seb and Sophie had a strange relationship curve but it seemed to work. I just think that the whole mystery was quite overplayed and probably shouldn’t have been as much the main conflict. Still, the book dealt with themes of misogyny and assault well and I would recommend to people who like romcoms.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was a cute, fun read. I wish I could have read this on the beach instead of in the rainy weather.

This book is great for people who want an instant-love, quick romance. I personally enjoyed it after reading a slow burn.
The cons were some grammatical errors and some cliche characters, but overall I enjoyed it.

This is an easy and fun read. Sophia and Seb are adorable together and I like the push and pull they have. This is not a steamy story but the book flows well without it. There is some nice tension with other characters that drive the relationship between Sophia and Seb. Overall a good read.

I really love Sophie and Seb! Not to mention all the side characters in this story! This was such a fun sports rom com! Seb is an amazing guy who is so protective over Sophie and it all started with tequila... need I say more? (no really you will have to read the book) Sophie has trust issue (totally get) Seb totally gets it too which just makes him even more perfect! I think I found my new book boyfriend for a while! (I'm not sharing just an fyi) This was super fast paced and didn't want to put it down! If you like sports romances pick this up!
