This is an ARC I previously was given the opportunity to read and review by the Author. Well no excuses here I just let it go and it became really overdue. I finally read it and WOW what an awesome fast paced psychological thriller. I couldn't read it fast enough. Rachel is estranged from her sibling's and because of that her and her Husband Gabriel get themselves mixed up in a murder and the more they try to cover it up, the more complex it becomes. You have to read this to see how everything works itself out by happenstance.
Thank you to Netgalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and the Author Isabella Bright for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Stealing Foxy by Isabella Bright is fresh, original, and not at all what I was expecting when I was asked to review an early copy. Ms Bright is a new author to me, and I was delighted to get my hands on this one after seeing its tantalizing premise.

Rachel and her husband Gabriel are restoring an old farmhouse in the south of France. With rescue dog Foxy recently joining them, life is close to idyllic. But while sorting out the inheritance left by her late parents, Rachel will discover a dark side to her siblings, as jealousy and resentments begin to surface. When brother Truck, who has made ominous threats in the past, discovers her new living arrangements, Rachel fears not only for the safety of her home and family, but for her very life.

This was a darkly comedic read that kept me guessing at each and every turn.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an ARC.

This was a darkly comedic tale of strained family relationships coupled with lush prose describing the French countryside. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs and the realistic portrayal of a family drama.

I was delighted to receive a message from an author whose previous reads I’ve really enjoyed. This one is written under her secret pen name so it’s very different to her other books. The blurb sounded right up my street but I think my expectation might have been a little off. I just didn’t find it as fast paced and twisty a read to what I usually like. The storyline is an interesting one for sure and I can see why there are some rave reviews. I did enjoy the family dynamic side of the storyline and what that entailed. There was a good variety of characters along with great character development and a great view into the idyllic French countryside but unfortunately it just wasn’t as fast paced and twisty enough for me but I do think others will enjoy it.

Thanks to Netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the opportunity to listen to #StealingFoxy

This was a good read, quite dark and crazy in places but definitely addictive and a page turner for sure. Great debut by Isabella Bright.

Rachel and her husband Gabriel live in a run down but beautiful house in the French countryside far far away from Rachel’s toxic family. From a very young age Rachel has always known difficulties in her family. Truck, her brother, was the main protagonist and bullied both Rachel and her two sisters, Priscilla, and Julie, relentlessly. Then when their parents died tensions hit fever pitch when trying to divide the inheritance between the four children. There were various items that Truck thought Rachel had unfairly taken and therefore she became the sole focus of his anger. One day his anger gets the better of him and he suddenly decides to travel to France and pay her a visit to take back the items he felt rightly belonged to him, Julie, and Priscilla, but does Rachel even have what he wants and if so, how will she react with a surprise visit from her older bully of a brother?!

I really enjoyed this book, an ordinary couple pulled into the most extraordinary circumstances. The tag line “when sibling rivalry goes a step too far” is perfect for this story. I was hooked quite early on (always good), and I thought the descriptions of the French countryside were so well done, they made me feel like I was really there. Whilst reading, and throughout the story up until the end, I did feel that Rachel and Gabriel were the unluckiest couple I had ever read about. I did enjoy hearing the story from them though, but I also liked hearing from Saffron, Truck’s wife, Julie and Priscilla as I felt it rounded out the characters more.

I have no doubt that I will looking for the next book by Isabella Bright as I enjoyed this debut so much. I definitely would recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley, Isabella Bright and Jupiter for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

The book is darkly funny, emotional at times, and very suspenseful, with a slow burn tension that leads to a roller coaster ride you don't want to get off because it is so entertaining. The four siblings are realistically drawn, yet at the same time bursting with life, and you find yourself completely immersed in their stories. And there are other characters, too. All artfully crafted and fascinating.

Happy Publication Day @isabellabrightauthor ! I
absolutely loved Stealing Foxy. It was so well written, extremely suspenseful and captivating. All kinds of dark and twisty family secrets, crazy relatives and one very toxic dysfunctional family.

Rachel and her husband, Gabriel live in a beautiful old farm house in the French Countryside. Rachel spends her days restoring her old farm house and going for walks in vineyards and surrounding sunflower fields with her new rescue dog, Foxy. Life is almost perfect for Rachel except for the fact that she is estranged from her siblings, and her mentally unstable brother, Truck, is threatening to hunt her down and hurt her. What transpires is a comedy of tragedies if you will. Someone dies and a huge bumbling cover up ensues.

I am so thankful to Isabella Bright for sending me an e-arc of her debut novel in exchange for my honest review. A definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me.

Stealing Foxy was an impressive debut novel that kept me turning the pages! First, I’m a sucker for any novel with a dog playing one of the main roles. Dog lovers like myself will absolutely relate to this one! This was a twisty read about a dysfunctional set of siblings fighting over an inheritance, along with some more sinister threats that will leave readers checking the locks on their doors. I don’t want to say too much, but this story starts with a bang and never lets go. I also loved the unique setting in the French countryside – a place that I will gladly travel to as I’m reading. Overall, a unique, well-written, and suspenseful thriller.

I was grabbed from the first sentence to the end. A young couple starts a new life away from the city temptations and their toxic families.

In the beautiful French countryside, not everything is so quiet as it looks like.

A turn of unexpected events will change that in a matter of moments. Gabriel is fighting with everything that comes on his way to his wife’s life. In his haste to find her, everything comes down to his new dog. If it wasn't for Foxy, none of these have happened.

Slowly, burden secrets are coming out to light. There are quite a few turns I haven't seen coming my way, and the hospital scenes kept me guessing even more.

It really made me question about why would her husband do everything for her the way he did and not even a second will he stop and think that this is not right. I think this part is stuck with me forever.

Her sister was an interesting character and the final twist was perfect to set this story as a must read suspense.

🆓📖Very grateful to the author for my review copy

🎉Happy Pub Day!!🎉

I enjoyed this book and loved that it had such an original storyline! It centers around a dysfunctional family and has lots of suspense and dark humor. The characters were well written, and I liked that it was told in multiple POVs. It had nicely done twists and turns and I love how everything came together in the end! Also, it has a dog in it, so what could be better!?

Thank you to Netgalley and to the author who reached out and offered me an e-arc of this book!

When is a victim not a victim? 4.5 stars! Twists, turns, and avoiding most of the current psychological thriller cliches makes this a debut novel worth reading.

Rachel, 38, is living in the French countryside with her husband, but is being harrassed by her brother, Truck, about some heirlooms that he is convinced she is hiding. Did she take them or not? Does it even matter, or is Truck's obsession about something else?

He has threatened to visit her after their oldest sister gives him her address. She is also under stress of the moneypit home that has used up all of their money. In the midst of all that, they find a dog, who is pivotal to the storyline.

This is not just about the events happening, but also a spotlight on the past of the siblings. How did they end up against Rachel? How did Truck become the way he is?

Then a death happens and everything begins to unravel. Gabriel and Rachel scramble. An accident happens. A witness has seen too much. All the complications make this an exciting read that can strain credulity at times, but offered enough to keep me guessing as to how it would all turn out.

Sometimes it takes one event to act as a domino and cause family to reassess their roles and to make changes that may undo years of damage.

Note: I received an advance reading copy from NetGalley. I enjoyed it and bought a copy.

"Rachel tentatively approached the dog...He was large and once majestic despite his weight loss. He looked like a German Shepherd or a Siberian husky-mix, yet was red as a fox, with a gentle glint of love in his brown eyes when he looked up at her...as if he knew that what was to happen next was his rendezvous with destiny."

If you start your book was a dog rescue I am all in. Stealing Foxy by clever imaginative author Isabella Bright is a farcical psychological thriller with a emphasis on a highly dysfunctional family that makes the sibling relationships in
@hbomax 's Succession look healthy.

Rachel and her younger husband Gabriel live a basically idyllic life in a fixer upper French country side farm house. She has just survived years of a bitter fight over her parent's inheritance with her two obnoxious sisters and paranoid cruel brother Truck. She mistakenly thinks its all settled until Truck's threatening emails demanding she hand over certain items that belonged to their parents. She does not have them. He doesn't believe her. He is on his way to take them from her, by force if he has to, but he doesn't know about Foxy, who will protect his human Rachel at all costs.

What happens when Truck shows up leads to a crazy farcical romp filled with twisty surprises, dark humorous moments, diabolical family drama and even some murderous tactics.

The humans in this tale often behaved untamed but canine Foxy was always tame...until some humans behaved like animals. It's a fun one folks. Enjoy!

I received a free copy of this book from the author via #netgalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is intriguing and smartly written book by the debut author Isabella Bright. Stealing Foxy is a fun and gripping page-turner that takes the reader on a colorful and suspenseful ride through the French countryside. The rode is bumpy, and there are many unexpected twists and turns along the way as Gabriel races to save his wife's life.

I really loved the final twist and I am looking forward to reading more books, hopefully in the near future, by this new author.

I feel so honored to review this debut novel by Isabella Bright. Thank you so much NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVED this debut novel by Isabella Bright. Her writing was superb and the characters are so well-developed. I especially liked Rachel and highly disliked Truck. I loved the bond between Rachel and Foxy.

Stealing Foxy was an intense and suspenseful read. My anxiety was high 50% in when there was an unexpected twist! I also enjoyed how the chapters were written from the POV of all the siblings and Rachel's husband. I always love a book where I hear from each characters POV. This book is a 5 star read!

If you enjoy dark, suspenseful sibling rivalry with a few twists and a satisfying ending, then I highly recommend this book!

A character-driven, darkly comedic suspense novel, this beautifully-written page-turner would appeal to fans of Liane Moriarty and Cynthia Sweeney 's The Nest.' The author richly evokes the gorgeous French countryside, which provides a unique setting for this twisty caper that features an adorable and extremely loyal dog, and an extremely dysfunctional set of siblings in conflict over an inheritance. This is a fresh take on the suspense genre, with its amazing sense of detail that brings the characters and the countryside to life. Full of unpredictable twists and turns, this glorious romp is a very refreshing must-read.

2 stars!

wow okay.....I was really looking forward to this one as I wanted to read something with a toxic family dynamic for some reason, and I got right into this.

Sadly I lost so much motivation when reading this that it took me forever to get through. I don't know what happened but I lost interest and felt many chapters were filler and not really needed and slowed down the pace of the book too much for me and what I wanted or expected.

It's written quite well but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping for.

Stealing Foxy was a deep dive into the dysfunction of a family of siblings and how secrets and lies can make people make deadly decisions. I loved it! The characters are great, even the dogs! Twisty and dark with a mix of humor and emotion, this one was so very hard to put down.
