I always look forward to reading a book by B.A. Paris. Great characters, a wonderful setting, and a plot that is full of chilling twists and turns.

B.A. Paris does it again! Ok I'll admit, it took me two times to get into this book and finish it but that's on me and not the book. Paris is one of my favorite authors and I one of my most anticipated books every year. When I was having trouble in the beginning of the book I knew it was me so I set it aside and came back to it. Boy am I glad I did!! I absolutely loved this locked room story. The overwhelming creepiness of being in a dark room constantly, not knowing where you are or who put you there or who is holding you captive was maddening, but in a good way for the reader. Not knowing who you can trust and who you can't added to the absolute terror. Paris has a way of making me sit up and turn the pages furiously until I finish the book. If you love a mystery that will completely set you off kilter and making you turn the pages so fast until you reach the conclusion, this one is for you! I am so glad I read it and I cannot wait to get the next one by this awesome author!

I know that back and forth timelines aren’t everyone cup of tea, but this played out so well. I really enjoyed this read!

I read all B.A. Paris books and I loved them all. This one is no exception. It’s an excellent thrilller and it reminds me of the 1st Paris’s book I read, Behind Closed Doors.

This novel has LOTS of twists and turns. The main character is complex and well developed. It is a fast read that keeps the reader guessing throughout.

I enjoy a good "captive" novel, and for the most part, I enjoyed this one.
It did feel a little off at times and the whole "angry millionaire husband who was just married for a month to spite his parents" spin felt too contrived to me.

I read it quickly, I was able to figure out the "who done it", but it was still a good read.

Amelie lost her dad when she is a teenager and goes to London where she meets a group of women that help her and become friends. Through alternating timelines, we find out that Amelie’s dreams of becoming a lawyer just might come true, until she becomes The Prisoner. A fast paced read and I enjoyed it.

The Prisoner by B.A. Paris is unique psychological thriller. When a young woman marries a billionaire, she has no idea what is in store from her. From the first few terrifying pages, you will not be able to put it down. From there, the book is not quite as exciting. However, it is still quite worth the read. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Amelie lost her parents as a child and had to survive. But she met handsome, rich Ned Hawthorne and things began to change.

But then, Amelie wakes up in a pitch-black room, not knowing where she is. Who took her? Why? And why does she feel safer here than with her husband?

If you liked Paris' book Behind Closed Doors, you may enjoy this one. I found the pacing to be uneven, but still enjoyed the suspense.

The Prisoner by B.A. Paris starts off with a bang, our main character Amelie wakes up in a dark room after being kidnapped. The story is told in dual timelines - the present where we focus on Amelia and her escape from captivity, and the past, a narrative that focuses on what happened prior and the circumstances that lead to her being taken. The start was so thrilling, I loved seeing Amelie's history and how much she struggled to survive after the death of her father. She had ambitions, goals, and wasn't going to let anyone stop her from achieving them.

This book was totally bingeable, from the moment we find out that she's been kidnapped your immediate thought is why, and how. It's clear that Amelie was being targeted based on who her husband is, and we find out very soon that things aren't what they seem when it comes to their marriage. Once the plot starts to unfold, the story becomes a bit more predictable and certainly less entertaining, it seemed like too much was trying to be crammed into one plot and unfortunately ended with a few missing key points.

Although I'm glad that Amelie finally found characters that she could trust on and rely on for her survival, the ending left me unsatisfied, I was really into the whole sub-plot at the end and wanted a bit more of that!

This was a decent thriller. I have only read one other book by this author and I did not enjoy that one at all. This one redeemed her for me.

If you are looking for a thriller where the protagonist wises up throughout the journey, this is the novel for you! Amelie goes from an orphan run away on the streets of London to being kidnapped and held captive in a pitch black room. Her struggle of loss and survival had me rooting for her throughout the novel. I love how the villains get their comeuppance and how all of the resolutions come about. I will recommend Jones' novels to everyone!

I was very excited to read the latest novel by B.A. Paris but I have to admit it is not one of my favorites. I was hooked right away but began to lose interest as I was reading. I found the main character likable but never grew attached. There were twists and turns and moments that were captivating but overall, I wasn't too impressed. I say it is definitely worth a read but don't rush.

The Prisoner by B.A. Paris is a CRAZY intense thriller with so many twists and turns.

I love this author and his previous books, but this one is so INTENSE, I kept flipping the pages. Like crazy.

The ending left me gasping for air. Such a well written twisty thriller with characters that will make you question everything.

I liked The Prisoner. It had a good story and was a pretty quick read. The chapters bounced back and forth between the past and present, which I enjoy. I didn’t love the ending but that’s okay. Unlike some books, it didn’t take anything away from the story itself. I would definitely recommend.

I really liked how from the beginning I was glued to the story. Engaging, interesting and a nail-biting tale. This is the kind of story I think of when i think of a thriller. Thank you to NetGalley, publisher and author for the free arc.

She’s kidnapped and held as a prisoner, along with her husband. But this isn’t the first time she’s felt like a prisoner and it won’t be the last. Amelie has had a difficult life but she finally finds a place where she’s happy and has friends, until it all gets ripped away from her because of one choice she made.
This was a quick thriller read. The first half was a little slow but part two picked up the pace. #netgalley

I love thrillers and B.A. Paris so when this one came out, I was super excited. Unfortunately, I DNF this book as it did not interested me to continue reading after the first 20% or so in the book. I have liked other B.A. Paris books, I just did not connect with this one. I will not give negative review as I support this author. I don't want to be unfair with the rating as I did not finish the book so I will give an average of 3 stars.
