I really enjoyed this book. It did spend a lot of time on the kidnapping but I was instantly drawn in the book. I didn’t find the husband charming so not sure why she married him.

The first half was absolutely amazing!! Kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat. The second half was a little too much explanation and drug on but still left me with questions unanswered. Overall a decent thriller and I will continue to read from this author!

Lack of character development so I had trouble relating to the characters of caring about what happened to them. Very over the top and Unbelievable

I haven’t read a book this quickly in a very long time. Wow! Told in two different timelines, it was very easy to follow which is a huge plus. This story totally reeled me in and grabbed me. Very descriptive, it kept me up reading till all hours..

Wow, wow, wow I just finished this book and I feel like I want more. This book was a page turner from almost the beginning. I was hooked, I loved how this story linked the past and present together. My heart was pounding and racing for Amelia at all of the twists and turns through the story. I will definitely be rereading this story again.

Wow wow wow! This book was amazing. I was hooked from page one. A page turner for sure. Dark, deep and deceptive. This book was a terrifying break neck speed race to the last page. Once you pick this one up you will not put it down. Once of the best reads of the year. Wonderful character in one of the most intense, unique plots I’ve ever read. My heart was pounding for the whole book. This is a must read!

I just want to start by saying I will read anything by B.A, Paris but this one was lukewarm for me. It started out really strong, Amelie was kidnapped in the middle of the night and held prisoner in a dark room. As the story progressed you had no idea why she was kidnapped or who had kidnapped her but the conclusion fell flat for me. It wasn’t twisty or shock provoking.

I have read each of BA Paris’ books. This is one of my favorites. The story grabbed my attention from the start. Amelie, a teen orphan, moves to London to start a new life after the death of her father. She lucks into a good friend group which leads her to a job with a magazine. She marries her boss during a “business trip” to Las Vegas under what she believes are mutually beneficial pretenses. Upon her return to London she quickly realizes that she is the one being used.

As the book goes on, it becomes more and more unbelievable. However, unbelievable I still found the book very enjoyable. I thought a lot of the characters lacked depth, but overall it was entertaining.

3.5 stars. The book was well written. This was an enjoyable read. This was not my favorite book by this author. The book was a bit slow and I figured out a few of the plots early.

I love B.A. Paris and have read most of her books but this one was a hot mess.

2. The reveal was so long and drawn out. We were told everything, not shown anything
3. No character development
4. No attachment to the characters

B A Paris is one of my favorite authors so I was thrilled when I received an ARC of The Prisoner. I just finished reading it and my heart is still racing! What I love most about this book is the complex characters and how you think you know what’s happening, but then there’s another major twist. This book deserves to be on all the best sellers list! I’ve read over 100 thrillers & mysteries in the past year, and this one is my favorite!

Took me a minute to get into this one but once you hit 30% you're invested and it starts to fly bye.

Amelie has no family, no one to turn to when she finds Carolyn and a group of women that become her family. She then gets quickly caught up in a web of lies and danger connecting all the women and Ned, a man born with a silver spoon who think he can get whatever he wants. Amelie gets kidnapped after a serious of events and has to unravel the mystery of what is going on.

The Prisoner throws plenty of info at you and leaves you wanting to know more. I did feel like the ending wrapped up a little too neatly for my taste but it was still a fun thrilling read.

This story starts a little slow but I promise you won't want to out it down! I literally finished it in 1 day. Amelie is alone when ge father dies from cancer. Being a minor and not willing to go to a group home or worse leaves for London to start a new life and hopefully college for the law degree she craves. A series of kindness of others leads her to Ned Hawthorne where her story really begins. Do yourself a favor and read this book...you won't want it to end

I have mixted feelings about this one, I was intrigued about the whole kidnapping thing but since it was only in the middle of the book, I felt like it was dragging a little bit. I would have much prefer if the prisoner thing was the central point in the book without a big intro/conclusion.

ok.. this book will literally have you up the entire night reading. B.A. Paris is the queen of thrillers. The first half of the book will leave you squealing in fear as she makes you feel like you are in a dark dingy basement being held captive. Usually when I read the first half of a book and have NO clue what the heck is going on, I do not finish it. But this one...I was enthralled, intrigued, dumbfounded. I couldn't believe how expertly Paris unraveled the plot and smacked me in the face with all the pieces of the puzzle that came together. FABULOUS!!

This book pulls you in from page 1 & written so well, I felt like I was there. Read this in a day & simply could not put it down. B.A. Paris never disappoints!

There’s a lot of moving parts to the story, and the plot continually shifts, keeping the reader off-balance throughout the book. The ending felt a little rushed as the plot lines all finally connect, but overall this is a gripping thriller that you’ll speed-read through. B.A. Paris never disappoints! This book will leave you on the edge of your seat with each turn of the page! It goes back and forth with Amelie's life in the past, before she was abducted, and in the present while she's being held captive, but doesn't know why or by whom. Such a great suspenseful read, that has a plot twist that will make your jaw drop!
A must read!

Amelie has nothing when her father dies until three wonderful women befriend her, take her in, and give her a start. That is until she meets their wealthy boss Ned who proposes Amelie marry him for one month to get his father of his back, and he will pay for her college education. But nothing is at it seems. A page turner of a suspense novel that will suck you in so sit down read, and enjoy the ride.
