Did I read a Christmas book in August. Why yes I did and it was just the amount of fluffiness I needed right now. All the cats are adorable and this is a super sweet and fun Christmas/winter read.
3.5 stars
I really like Ben and Kara in this book - the gradual build up of their relationship and the way they just worked together. But, the thing I craved more of throughout this story was more festivity. I feel like if Christmas is in the title, the book should feel like a Christmas book, and to me, other than the few instances sprinkled in, it could've taken place any time of year and had the same plot.
Was cute though.
Cozy: Snuggly, warm and comfortable. (Dictionary.com)
This book is the definition of cozy and perfect for animal lovers everywhere. Kara and her best friend Charity run a cat cafe, where people can get a coffee or pastry, spend time with the animals and even adopt one. Each chapter starts with a catchy two-line description of one of the cats, which was my favorite part. But the cafe's in financial trouble, and they're not sure if they can stay open past the holidays.
Ben thinks "women were in the same category as Double Stuf Oreos - best avoided, as they did nothing but cause problems for him" after his fiancé falls in love with his brother. Kara thinks all men have terrible motives after her ex abused her trust to steal money from her nonprofit employer. Their worlds collide after Ben's town marketing promotion sends tons of new customers to Kara's cat cafe, causing her to have a panic attack on the sidewalk.
It's dislike at first sight, but then Ben and his friend Schwartz find a tiny kitten in his ductwork. He's sure he's not a cat person, but Kara convinces him to keep it until she can find a foster. Then their friends meet, and Charity invites Ben and Schwartz to Friendsgiving. Ben convinces Schwartz to help him develop a marketing plan to save the cat cafe. As feelings grow between Ben and Kara, misunderstandings develop, and the two will have to decide if they're meant to last after all the tinsel comes down.
Ben is literally the kindest guy, and I was rooting so hard for Kara to trust him. Readers everywhere will have a new book boyfriend after this book. This romance is like a cup of hot chocolate - sweet and warms the heart.

Cats and Christmas? What could be more perfect?!
This was such a cute read. The whole time I thought this would make the perfect Hallmark Christmas movie!! (My favorite!!)
I loved the premise and I was invested in every character, especially the furry ones. 😉
This book was seriously made for me!! It’s a Christmas romcom and had ALL my favorite tropes—enemies to lovers, opposites attract and somewhat of a workplace romance as Ben helps Kara find homes for the resident felines of the cozy cat cafe. It’s also deeper than you might think. Both main characters have complicated pasts that they need to move on from. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I honestly had so much fun reading this book and I hope I get to see it turned into a movie.
*cough* HALLMARK CHANNEL *cough*

A Cat Cafe Christmas is a cute Christmas read! I enjoyed all the cats and the story of saving the cafe. Unfortunately, I didn’t really connect with the main characters. Both of their backstories were interesting, but not fleshed out enough to be fully believable or for me to be that invested. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to any cat lover!
Cats, Chrismas and Cheer!
What more can you want from a RomCom. I enjoyed myself the entire time reading this and I NEED Hallmark to make this into a movie.
Kara is running away from her past and wants to make a difference. With her best friend Charity, they open The Meow and Furever Cat Cafe. With Charity in charge of the baking and Kara caring for the rescues, they will help so many cats! Running a business isn't as easy as they thought when the rent comes due and the special needs cats stay too long, they might not make it through the holiday season.
Enter Ben Reese. As a self-proclaimed non-animal lover, he doesn't seem qualified to help, but as a marketing professional, he's just what Kara and the cafe need to stay open.
Ben has created a plan to find homes for all the felines, and raise money for the cafe to stay open and maybe even expand. But Kara's past comes back to haunt her, will she be able to trust this handsome guy? Can Ben and Kara can set aside their differences to be together for a purr-fect holiday and save the cafe.
This is a sweet holiday romcom where two people with deep hurts from previous relationships are brought together by a kitten and the feelings they can’t deny. An enjoyable read with two lovable leads. I loved their relationship with each other and their best friends as well.
Final Thoughts - Great holiday read to get you into the spirit, enjoyable descriptions of the cats with cute illustrations and

I thought this was a cute book! Likeable characters, and a fun story that kept me reading into the night. A Cat Cafe by Codi Gary is a fun, sweet read!
Ok so I love both cats and Christmas so this book was pretty much perfect for me.
This was a sweet romance about Kara, owner of meow and forever and publicist Ben. While I enjoyed the opposites attract romance story, my favorite parts were the descriptions of the cats at the beginning of each chapter. I actually liked that there was minimal spice and that was more of a cute love story.
As a cat person any time I see a book that features cats I have to read it. I mean that’s the unspoken law, right? So when I saw that an author I adore was writing a book featuring a veterinarian who owns a cat cafe/rescue I knew I had to read it. This book was the perfect opposites attract romance that left my heart longing for the holidays.
Ben and Kara are both trying to heal from really complicated pasts. While they didn’t exactly get off to the best start (totally understand Kara’s feelings at this point with the anxiety she feels), I did really love watching them grow closer. I think the dual POVs was a really nice touch and allowed us to see what they were feeling, even when they wouldn’t admit it to themselves.
I’m also going to go ahead and say Chaos is my favorite side character. The path of destruction his tiny little self left behind was just hilarious.

A Cat Café Christmas is a cute opposites attract holiday romance! Vet and non-profit owner Kara teams up with marketing guru Ben to try to save her cat cafe for the holiday season. While they originally start out on the wrong foot, I loved seeing their relationship grow and seeing Ben and Kara learn to trust again after being hurt in previous relationships.
The story was really cute, but the writing felt underdeveloped. Because of that I never felt like I really connected with the characters and the plot felt like it lacked a lot of depth.
Overall this is a cute holiday story and would be the perfect book to read while cuddled up with a furry friend and a cup of hot chocolate!

This book has the cutest storyline that is perfect for Christmas time! It reminded me of getting cozy and watching a sweet Hallmark movie during Christmas. I often caught myself smiling from ear to ear while reading this book. The humor and romance in this novel blend so well together for the perfect holiday mix. If you're looking for a sweet, romantic, and heartwarming next read, this is it!
New author for me. Loved reading this book. I didn't want to put it down. I'm also a lover of cats. I suggest this book. I'm hoping it becomes a series
What's not to love about this feel good story, a coffee shop that doubles as a rescue center for cats, how smart and inspiring is that. Two people who have trust issues start a relationship over a foster kitten that helps a non-animal person become a pet owner Yeah. And how Ben helps Kara bring, The Cat Cafe, to social media that not only changes adoptive cats lives for the better but inspired others to get involved and help, but first Ben will have to help Kara get over using social media since her ex-boyfriend nearly destroyed any trust that Kara had in anyone and Kara will help Ben recover from a broken heart that involved an ex-girlfriend and brother.
I love all the kitties that are in the story, I like Charity and Schwartz best friends to Kara and Ben who help both of them realize they are meant to be together and they also bring color and humor to the story. This is a very quick Christmas story that will get you in the spirit of Christmas.
I want to thank Forever (Grand Central Publishing), Forever and NetGalley for an advance copy of this entertaining story.
Doing a lot of Christmas in July reading ...and this one sounded cute! What do you get when you put together cats, Christmas and a chance at love? Only super cute Christmas romance novel! Such a fun cozy Christmas read, will give you all the holiday feels, mixed with personal growth, Love and redemption! (and tons of cats LOL)
Cute read for the holidays!

I love a feel-good holiday romances that get me in the Christmas spirit! And if it’s funny, that’s a plus. A Cat Café Christmas was just that. Enemies to lovers & opposites attract are some of my favorite tropes. With Christmas being my all time favorite holiday, the mix was absolutely perfect. Oh, and you get a TON of adorable cats. Each with their adoptable profiles, that ties them in perfectly. I also loved how characters were very diverse, & there’s a lot of character development.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC for an exchange for an honest review.
Oh I really enjoyed this book. Had so much fun reading it.
As a cat girl at heart 100000% I loved this so much. Give me allll the books about cats!! A perfect Christmas romance.
this book seemed really cute and promisingly good to read, especially when it comes out for the holiday season.
it is about kara, a veterinarian and owner of a cat cafe and ben, who works in the marketing industry. ben did a quick marketing thing for the cat cafe and when the two meet, it goes pretty sour.
when ben is renovating his house, he finds a kitten and takes it to the cat cafe for help, but there is no room for another cat. while ben works closely with kara on this kitten and with the marketing for the cat cafe, their relationship gets closer as well.
i can’t say this was a really great story since i really didn’t feel any of the feelings the characters felt. i didn’t feel their pain, anxiety, jitters, and excitement. i didn’t see any connection between kara and ben.
I can only compare this book to white bread. Nothing new or exciting, easy to find everywhere, bland, completely forgettable. I'm only giving it an extra half star because of the addition of the cat cafe. I just think our MC's acted like complete juveniles, I never felt any tension, and some of the dialogue actually made me cringe. Though I wish I'd loved this because I wanted that cover on my shelves, I unfortunately couldn't wait to finish it.
This was such a cute and funny read. I'm not a cat person, but I won't turned down cat snuggles.
A Christmas in July read and cat lovers everywhere this book may be just what you need for an early boost for the holiday season. The fun banter and sarcasm between Ben and Kara was funny and entertaining. This also gave me a bit of a Hallmark feel and craving those winter nights, especially with these 95 degree weather we are having here in Washington.
Kara and Charity's cat cafe seems like the perfect place to get those cat snuggles in and read a good book while enjoying some yummy pastries and delicious warm drinks during those winter moves, even in California.
Such a fun romcom with all the right feels.
