Description
Veterinarian and animal lover Kara Ingalls needs a Christmas miracle. Opening the Meow and Furrever Cat Café to find loving homes for adorable, adoptable cats was a dream come true—but with more cats than customers, it’s quickly turning into a nightmare. If Kara can’t figure out some way to get the café out of the red, it won’t last past the holidays.
Marketing guru Ben Reese may be annoyingly smart and frustratingly bossy, but when he hatches a plan to put the café in the “green” by Christmas, Kara realizes that she’d be a fool to turn down his help. And so what if he turns out to be an excellent problem solver and nerdy-hot—he can’t even handle fostering one little kitten. She needs to keep their relationship professional and focus on saving the cafe.
But if Ben and Kara can set aside their differences—and find homes for all the cats by Christmas—they might discover that, by risking their hearts, they’ll have their own purr-fect holiday . . . together.

This book is holiday magic perfection. It features two grumpy leads and tons of adorable cats, need I say more?
While the cats were the stars of the show, the healing journey both Kara and Ben go through over the duration of the book was beautiful to see. Kara and Ben have experienced recent heartbreaks prior to meeting each other and we witness their romance grow along with their own personal healing.
This is the perfect holiday rom com to read curled up under a blanket with a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
4 stars
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As a huge cat lover & a local to the Sacramento & Roseville area, I was so excited to see this book. As a huge fan of rom-coms, this book did not disappoint.
Kara co-owns and runs a combination cafe and vet & rescue clinic. Or at least, the vet part is a dream that she’s desperately trying to achieve while also trying to keep the business open.
Ben is a marketing guru, who even after having a bad “meet cute” with Kara, decides to help her put together a plan to save the Cat Cafe.
Sunshine/Grump & Friends to Lovers trope enthusiasts will enjoy this adorable story, while those that also love cats will get a snicker out of the Cat Introduction snippets that start each chapter.
Overall, this was a cute story that happily earned 4 stars. I would recommend as a fun book for those that love rom-com and want an enjoyable & quick read. There were little scenes that I felt were unrealistic, but in the end, we all want a happily ever after & a saved Cat Cafe.
I received this book from NetGalley.
I have never been a fan of the romance genre at all, but lately I've been letting my guard down here and there. I saw the title of this book, and I was sold and I'm so glad I dove into it.. I desperately want to visit a cat cafe, I am a life long cat lover and this book just hit the spot. The love story was adorable and believable. This was such a fast read, mainly because I could not put the book down. I loved how every chapter started with a cute cat bio, this book was just so fun to read.
As a cat girl at heart 100000% I loved this so much. Give me allll the books about cats!! A perfect Christmas romance.
I absolutely adored this book! I was given an ARC from Netgalley & Grand Central Publishing in exchange for an honest review. These thoughts are my own opinion.
This book is like a warm cup of hot chocolate will make you happy and warm your heart! We meet Kara who owns Meow and Forever Cat Cafe that is just opening. Her best friend runs the front of the store with lattes and bake goods and she runs the intake and adoption side of the car cafe. She is a veterinarian with a heart of gold! Sadly the Cat cafe is struggling out of the gate! In comes marketing extraordinaire Ben! There first interaction isn’t great after all he’s not a cat person. Ben finds a kitten in the house he’s working on. Ben brings the kitten to Kara at the cat cafe but there’s no room for him. Ben agrees to keep the cat until a home can be found for him. But his heart may be warming up to not just Chaos the kitten but to Kara too.
This book was the cutest rom com ever I swear! My favourite was each chapter started with a cat and their description that live at the cat cafe and looking for their forever home! I’m going to adopt Buddy the elf I swear! I think Codi handled fade to black romance really well with this book and I’m excited to read others by her!
Be prepared to fall in love with more then just the cats of Meow and Forever! Be sure to pick this up on Oct 4,22. You won’t be disappointed!
A Cat Café Christmas is a Christmas rom-com featuring Kara and Ben. Kara is a veterinarian and co-owner of Meow and Furrever Cat Café. She currently has more cats than customers and needs to figure out a way to get the café from red to black. Ben is a marketing wiz, who has some ideas on how to get the café in the black through the day of Catmas. Kara realizes she would be a fool to turn down his help. Ben and Kara need to set aside their differences, and trust in each other to make this a Catmas to be remembered.
The cats in this book were perfection. Each chapter featured a bio of a cat available for adoption, which were sweet and adorable. Adding to that was the healing journey that both Ben and Kara went through in overcoming the heartbreaks they had experienced and learn to trust again. Both had been burned in the past and had a lot of personal growth that needed to happen in order to be able to be in a relationship.
The chemistry and banter between Ben and Kara was perfection right from the start. Even though neither were looking for a relationship, the time they spent together was fun and exciting. I also really liked the grumpy/grumpy trope in this book, it made the characters all the more entertaining. The book was a bit formulaic, but I think that was part of the charm too. It would be a perfect book to read cozy by the fire with a cup of cocoa.
This book was an absolute delight, filled with Christmas spirit. I really enjoyed it and it would be purr-fect for cat lovers and Christmas lovers alike! Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.
Cats, coffee, and Christmas. What’s not to like?
Ben, a marketing executive new to LA, and Kara, a veterinarian running a nonprofit cat cafe/low cost clinic, unexpectedly find themselves in each other’s lives. Ben and Kara are both still reeling from breakups that left them jaded and maybe even a little cynical. After an immaculate meet-cute, they find solace in the cats, the rescue, and each other. Can their budding relationship survive the lingering trauma from their past loves?
I loved watching both Ben and Kara on their journeys to healing. This was a sweet reminder for me that there is no “correct” timeline for finding love and building a life with someone; life does not end at age 30, and there is always someone waiting who will think you’re fantastic. And as a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, seeing Ben fall in love with a wild little kitten made me happier than words can say. This is such a sweet, cozy read, and I highly recommend it for romance lovers!
After going on a bit of a thriller binge A Cat Cafe Christmas was the perfect lighthearted pick me up that I needed! As a lover of cats, coffee and books I was absolutely ecstatic when I was approved for this NetGalley request.
Kara Ingalls is nursing her broken heart after her ex stole the information and money of donors who had trusted Kara. She’s hiding out at Meow and Forever the cat cafe she started with her best friend Charity.
Ben Reese never expected his ex-fiancé was in love with his brother but it all happened right in front of him. He’s in Sacramento hoping his family will stop trying to push he and Boone back together.
Kara decided rather quickly that she couldn’t stand Ben, after all, he was the cause of her awful work day. But then Ben comes groveling back with a kitten in tow, and Kara starts to warm up to him. This book was more cute than you could imagine, the descriptions of each cat at the beginning of the chapter were perfection!
A Cat Cafe Christmas was sweet, and wholesome (but a little spicy) and completely adorable. Throw in one crazy kitten named Chaos and this book has everything!
I usually don’t read seasonal reads outside of the winter months, but I had to make an exception for this incredibly cute book—and I’m glad I did!
This is THE book for cat lovers, for the holidays and beyond. Each chapter starts off with a cartoon and description of a cat for adoption at the cat café, which has got to be the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.
Most of the book revolves around cats and our interactions with them, from introducing kittens and cats to new environments, to finally meeting the purrfect match. But that’s not saying the romance takes a backseat, not at all. Kara and Ben have both gone through their own traumas, and at each step I was rooting for them to find ways to heal and be together.
Cody Gary is excellent at making the reader feel emotionally invested in the story, as I found myself getting madder and madder the more I heard about their stories and craved some restitution. That being said, I found the ending a bit meh, but overall I didn’t think it took away from my enjoyment of the story.
Overall, if you’re looking for a cozy, holiday read with characters you want to root for, and the tiniest dash of spice, add this to your Christmas wishlist asap!
Thanks so much to Netgalley and Forever, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing, for providing me with an ARC of this adorable Christmas story.
