Great thriller that keeps the reader thinking the whole way through. I loved the main characters in this one. They were well done and interesting to read.
This was less of a domestic thriller and more of a game of cat and mouse. The last twenty percent of the story had me reeling until the jaw dropping conclusion. There were many twists and turns I never saw coming, adding to this gripping tale of betrayal and revenge. To say this was entertaining is not even enough.
This was an ok read. The author did spend a lot of time with each characters so I felt the story was dragging. There some twists but overall a slow burn.
Twisted, compelling, and not your average domestic thriller!
Olivia spent 5 years in prison for something she didn’t do. Now she wants revenge …. On her husband, the man who set her up.
I was hooked from chapter one and really enjoyed the storyline. Thank you #netgalley for a copy of The Guilty Couple.
The way I LOVED this book! The suspense, the deceit, the lies, the plot twists.... I could not put it down and I'm so sad it's over. Would give more than 5 stars if I could! New C.L. Taylor fan, can't wait to read more!
Fast paced cat and mouse thriller, I loved it. I went in with no expectations and came out with a great read!!
After five years Olivia is finally released from prison and she’s looking forward to being reunited with her daughter, Grace. Not only does she have a lot of time to make up, Olivia also wants to prove that she wasn’t guilty of trying to have her husband killed. Instead, she maintains she was framed by her husband and a police detective.
The Guilty Couple has an interesting plot, a wide-ranging cast of characters, and a lot of relationships that are revealed as the story progresses. With several story lines as well as several perspectives, the reader needs to pay attention in order to appreciate how it all comes together. It is a well-written thriller, although it was sometimes a little difficult to read, since the different points of view were either first person or third person and that seemed to disrupt the flow for a bit. Otherwise, this is a fast-paced thriller that is entertaining to the very last page.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.
I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I was expecting your average domestic thriller. What I got was a very unexpected surprise. This was less of a domestic thriller and more of a game of cat and mouse. The last twenty percent of the story had me reeling until the jaw dropping conclusion. There were many twists and turns I never saw coming, adding to this gripping tale of betrayal and revenge. To say it was entertaining is an understatement. Thank you NetGalley and Harper 360 for my copy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really liked this book! It was a bit farfetched but kept me reading until the end. I didn't connect with any characters, and I wanted to badly. I rate this book a 3.2

Olivia has just been released from prison. She served time for a crime she did not commit. During her time in, she lost the relationship she had with her daughter, Grace. Her main goal is to repair that relationship.
The second thing Olivia plans on doing-expose the people who framed her. Olivia was falsely accused of trying to murder her husband. She knows her husband is involved but as she starts to unravel the truth, she finds that more people she trusted are also a part of the lies that convicted her.
It felt like Olivia was working against the clock on potentially losing her daughter for good. So many twists and turns!

Fun, fast paced thriller that made for such a quick read for me! I throughly enjoyed this one and it managed to hold my attention despite my lack of desire to read. I needed that. This book was easy to get lost in and just enjoy the story as it unraveled. However I probably won’t read it again.
I received a complimentary copy of this book "The Guilty Couple" and all opinions expressed are my own. My first book by this author. This book will keep you guessing. The story flowed well and the characters were really interesting. Overall good book.
My Review:
Enjoyed!!!! I’ve had this book on my to read list for a while now and I’m so glad I finally got a chance to read it. I couldn’t put this one down. There were so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I love it when a book keeps me guessing the whole way through. The characters were just the right amount of evil. The story line kept me intrigued and wanting more. That ending left me shocked and speechless. What more could I ask for in a book. This is not my first rodeo with this author and it certainly won’t be my last. Also, this book is currently on sale in the United States for $1.99. I would definitely recommend it for that price.
In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 4 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hot damn!! I loved this one! I legit couldn’t put it down until I’d finished the last gripping page! This was twisty turny and kept me guessing for quite awhile how it was all going to end. Delightfully original! Many thanks to the publisher for this early copy for review
I love he said/she said psychological thrillers with unreliable narrators so my allegiance can switch around. This one was so promising and I couldn’t wait to get started. The beginning was great - Olivia is getting out of prison for a crime she said her husband framed her for - his attempted murder. Halfway through the plot and tempo changed and became a sort of mafia book with rather unbelievable cross plots and the characters became unrecognizable to me. I finished it but was sorely disappointed it didn’t stick to the plot of the first half which was so more interesting.
the was a textbook 2.5 star book for me. I was looking forward to it after seeing a lot of glowing reviews but this ended up being a pretty standard domestic thriller for me. i just never really connected or cared much about the story - it takes place in the aftermath of a prison sentence so it feels like the stakes already happened…

Synopsis: Five years ago, Olivia Sutherland was wrongfully convicted of plotting to murder her husband. Now she's finally free, Olivia has three goals: repair her relationship with her teenage daughter, clear her name, and bring down her husband – the man who framed her. Just how far is she willing to go to get what she wants? And how far will her husband go to stop her? Because his lies run deeper than Olivia could ever have imagined – and this time it’s not her freedom that’s in jeopardy, but her life…
My Thoughts: I want to first say that I typically love Taylor’s books but this one did not work for me. The premise was intriguing, even if it has been done before, and it even opened up with a bang, but never caught back up to the opening. I could not connect with either of the MCs, as they both were flawed, entitled, and could only see vengeance and revenge, not justice. I believe characters can be flawed, but relatable and I just did not feel that here. I did feel for the daughter, being stuck in the middle without a choice. While fiction can be, and is often, unrealistic, I just felt it was too unrealistic. The book did go pretty fast, there was some highlights. There were twists in the book but the plot was just a little too unrealistic for me. The book wasn’t a bad book, and I am hoping that other readers will enjoy it because Taylor is a vert talented writer.
I recently finished the book The Guilty Couple by C.L. Taylor. A brief synopsis of the book is as follows: Five years ago, Olivia Sutherland was convicted of plotting to murder her husband. Now she’s finally free; Olivia has three goals. Repair her relationship with her daughter. Clear her name. And bring down her husband – the man who framed her. I found this thriller to be quite exciting. I didn’t immediately guess ‘who done it,' and it was well-paced. I like the cadence and tone that the author provided, and I always love when books give multiple points of view.
I really enjoyed the secondary characters in this book. Smithy, though with questionable morals, has a good heart, and her friend Ayesha really cared for her and was there for the ups and the downs during this five-year period.
The driving motivation for the character, Olivia, was how can she rebuild her relationship with her daughter after being sent to prison for five years. As a mother myself, I felt her angst with trying to repair this relationship, and I was constantly rooting for them to have a happy ending. It is written in UK English, so if you’re not familiar with that country's vernacular and slang, it may trip you up, but I found it easy to understand, and Google was only a tab away! I enjoyed this book, and I would recommend it! This was the first book I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be the last.
I just reviewed The Guilty Couple by C.L. Taylor. #TheGuiltyCouple #NetGalley

Addictive and gripping. This book could easily be converted to a TV series and I would totally watch it.
This was a brilliant, extremely well written book, which takes you on a rollercoaster ride from start to finish. It is a perfect advert for "just one more chapter!" I felt as if I got to know all the characters, they were so very well described! I love Smithy! I loved the ending. Highly recommend.
I will be recommending this to my followers who are obsessed with thrillers. This book will have so many rereading.
