I have been loving this series so much! This series has one of my favorite girl trios. This is book three in The Boyfriend Project series. Each book follows one of the women in the trio. I loved getting a book for each character and seeing their perspective on things.
I loved London and Drew’s story. I thought the chemistry and banter between them was the best. I felt like it was very realistic. This was such a great enemies to lovers romance. It was the perfect book to wrap up the series with. If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly recommend it!
this is the last installment of “the boyfriend project” series but is the first novel i’ve read from farrah rochon. the female main characters from the first two plots make brief appearances in “the hookup plan” so you don’t need to worry about reading them before diving into this book. i really liked how everything starts from the first chapter: you get introduced to london and drew and how they go waaay back. their relationship builds up slowly but steadily and i must say… i really admire how patient drew is around london! he’s just the sweetest and is the perfect match for someone confident and driven like london.
the plot doesn’t just focus on london and drew’s romance because it also touches on family drama and friendships. i wasn’t into the instances london confronted her father or when she’d try to give her younger stepsister teenage advice. but i especially enjoyed it when london would go out with her two girlfriends (the FMCs of the first two installments) because they’ve created a super strong support system between the three of them. however, at times i felt that these subplots distracted from the times london and drew shared with each other. i would have like to see the two of them spend more time together outside of the hospital.
Really enjoyed this book and am sad to see the series end. It was fun to go on this journey with all the characters.
I LOVED this book - I've been following Farrah Rochon for a while, and this is definitely my favorite book of hers. I love London as a character - her drive and hard work and mission to be the best. Also, as someone who has had a family member impacted by cancer, it was so great being able to read about her drive and passion for medicine. This book had the right amount of spice and friction. The storytelling and narration of the audiobook was great - I couldn't stop listening.
Thank you to NetGalley for this audio ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I had no idea this was the third book in a series but I was able to read it just fine without having read the other two. London and Drew were enemies back in school, now fifteen years later they have reconnected thanks to their school reunion and it turns out their feud hasn't gone anywhere. By the end of the night they hook up and so they enter an enemies with benefits situation.
I loved these two characters so much. The chemistry, the banter, the support...SO GOOD! London is such a strong female character and what I loved about her was that she took on everything, sometimes at the cost of her health, and did not waver if she believed she was doing the right thing. Then there's Drew. This man is sweet and patient and so ridiculously supportive! And he falls first!!! Dear lord I love this man.
Romance isn't my typical genre but I thoroughly enjoyed this. If you like academic rivals turned enemies to lovers with a dash of forced proximity where the guy falls first? This is for you.
We chose this as our August club read for ThreeFriendsBookClub. This is the third book in The Boyfriend Project series, and while I think you could easily pick up any of them as a stand-alone you'll have more of the other characters' back stories if you start at the beginning. Plus the whole series is really fun, so why wouldn't you want to read them all.
Oooh I love me some enemies-to-lovers! London and Drew were enemies through high school and ended up competing so much that they were co-valedictorians. They end up running into each other at their school reunion and hooking up. Even though London still claims to loathe him, it turns into a pretty regular thing. She's definitely not going to catch feelings though...for Drew...no way. Right?
I loved both London and Drew. In particular, Drew was a sweet, suave, smart, hunk of a man and London was sassy, smart, and super driven.
I did have two complaints though...it felt a little excessive that London was taking SUCH poor care of herself, especially once she'd been diagnosed with hypertension and other things exacerbated by stress and a lack of sleep/eating right/exercise. I just wanted to give her a good shake and tell her to slow it down and look after herself. Secondly, I missed the female friendship angle that was so strong in the other books. This one had a bigger focus on the romance (which I enjoyed) but I missed the other ladies, because they didn't make as big an appearance in this book.
This book had funnier moments but it also pulled at the heartstrings. London has a complex and toxic relationship with her father that she's trying to work through. Drew lost his mom to cancer and has been putting off dealing with his own feelings there. Plus, London is trying to be a better sister to her half-sisters and brother, while also trying to do what is best for her career and save the hospital she works for!
I listened to this one on audiobook, which comes in at 10 hours 15 minutes and is narrated by Marissa Hampton. This narrator was new to me, but I really loved her performance, and will be looking for more of their work!
I love romance novels featuring strong successful professional ladies who don’t need a significant other to take care of them. The Hookup Plan definitely fit the bill! It followed a typical enemies to lovers plot but the characters and Austin setting were so much fun that I didn’t mind the predictability one bit.
Just give me all the enemies to lovers books! I couldn’t put this one down. A must read for those who love this trope!
This book is an amazing read... I mean adults actually behave like adults and communicate with each other in a relationship...
London might have started off wanting a one night stand situation with Drew, but she's able to think with both her heart and brain as the story unfolds, to accept that Drew and she might actually be perfect together...
I loved the girl gang friendship vibe throughout the book... And I have so much respect for London when she makes her professional choices...
While this books definitely works as a standalone, I'm definitely going to read books 1-2 as well to know Samiah's and Taylor's stories...
This story had my favourite trope (guy secretly in love with girl for years), really good chemistry between characters and strong female friendships.
Drew and London were academic rivals in highschool (more on London's side than his) and are now successful at their chosen careers, when they find themselves in each other's orbit once more and embark on a friend's with benefits type situation.
Of course they catch feelings, with Drew falling first. It was cool to see their relationship develop and also to see their family backgrounds that played a part in who the characters became.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an audiobook copy of The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rockon. This is a rivals to strangers to lovers, friends with benefits to lovers, workplace romance and it was so entertaining to listen to! I would definitely recommend and I am going to have to go back and read the first two books of this series, 4⭐️
I’ve liked this series from the very beginning. I remember buying the first book before I had even read the book. Thankfully when I did read it, I did enjoy it lol Although the friend I was most excited for already came out, I was still excited for London to meet her match. And meet him she did!
Ok now I know you’ve heard me say I don’t like enemies to lovers, but this one I had to try since I’ve read the rest of the series. As it turns out tho, it wasn’t very much of an enemies to lovers romance tho. They hated each other during high school and re-met during their reunion. And just when they fall back into their old habits, London adds something else to their teasing….. They start doing it. And I’m talking like by chapter 3. Now normally that doesn’t matter to me, but when I set myself up to prepare for something, I had built it up in my head for nothing lmao It was a bit of a bummer? I don’t know how to explain it.
The rest of the romance was super cute. I LOVED that London was the only one that was competing and Drew was pining. Gah I don’t know what it is, but a pining man is like my weakness. Especially if he’s been pining and the other love interest doesn’t have a clue. I don’t understand how they never know, but whatever. it makes for good entertainment. And with this one being the super driven woman that she is, I knew she wasn’t going to know anything at all. And I was right lol But I liked it even when she didn’t really know. Like when they were just doing it when they had the pact. But I loved how everything turned out. Besides the fact that this was another book that had a billionaire love interest and the other love interest didn’t want to take his money. This is one trope I will never understand lol
However, don’t go in there expecting anything other than a fade to black romance. For the most part, it was closed door. If anything, there’s like 1 or 2 scenes where she actually says what’s happening. Just wanted to make sure you don’t go in there and get disappointed. (I’m saying this because I’ve seen some people saying they didn’t know about it…) But even without all the spicy scenes being open door, I thought it was still a pretty cute romance.
Their individual characters were amazing. I LOVED London and what she was doing at the hospital. I loved that she was still the strong willed and driven character she was in the other books. I loved that even her getting with Drew didn’t change her. As for Drew, I loved that he was different from the other MMC in Rochon’s other books. He pined for her from the beginning and wanted to give her everything since the beginning. Even though he knew she would like castrate him if he tried and she didn’t “earn” it. And I loved that he knew that before they even got together.
This book was probably my favorite book of the series. Even with the weird enemies to lovers and the closed door romance, I was so happy to see them together. But what I loved most about this was super strong London. I had a lot more fun with this than the others, and I can say I’m sad that this series is over.
I really loved this audiobook and the reader was fantastic! I loved the entire story and how well it all flowed throughout the whole book.
First of all, I want to give a shout out to Samiah, Taylor, & London for finding each other and becoming #Girlbosses on their own terms!! The hookup plan is the 3rd and final installment of The Boyfriend Project trilogy so I will definitely miss these characters which I enjoyed very much. In #TheHookUpPlan Pediatric surgeon London finds herself in an arrangement with an old classmate and rival: Drew Sullivan. While London insists on keeping things strictly physical, Drew knows there can be more between them if London just lets him in. The cast of characters are well developed and each have compelling side stories going on. The one that sticks out to me is the theme about the healthcare industry that permeate the novel: issues from patients not having insurance to competitive doctors, hospitals struggling to stay afloat it reminded me of the broken system the United States has in place in the healthcare industry. But enough of that!! The Spice in this book does not disappoint! London did not mince words and did not play games when it came to telling Drew *exactly* what she wanted!! It was nice to get to know London and see her in her own element with her family, career, and the other girls from The Boyfriend Project Samiah & Taylor. I really enjoyed the story, as well as the series and I can’t wait to see what else Farrah Rochon has in store for her readers!! Finally I want to say Thank you 🙏🏾to @readforeverpub for sending me the ARC & Finished copy of the book and @netgalley for giving me the audiobook which came in handy when my schedule got too busy to sit down and read! This series was fun, sexy, and funny and definitely worth the hype!
Since the start of the year, I have been counting down the days until Farrah Rochon’s latest release. This third installment in the Boyfriend Project series follows pediatric surgeon London Kelley, who is desperately in need of some relaxation. When her friends suggest a casual hookup, London believes she’s found it with her old rival Drew. The heat between them is off the charts, but things cool down quickly when London realizes he’s in town to potentially shut down her hospital.
Having read the other two books in this series, I couldn't wait to finally learn about London. I really liked the way that Rochon explored the pressures put on her at work, especially as one of the few people unafraid to speak her mind and always ready to protect the rest of the staff, as well as the way she felt pressure from her father. Plus her growing relationship with her siblings was really special to witness, and it was great to see her realizing that they were people she wanted to prioritize more in her life.
I absolutely loved Drew -- he's such a wonderful and supportive hero. It's clear from the start how much he's always admired London and I loved his devotion to making sure she was making time for herself and for finding happiness.
Marissa Hampton was the narrator of the audiobook, and I really enjoyed her performance of both characters!
I've really enjoyed this series from Farrah Rochon—especially its focus on a group of women who support each other in every way possible. I can't wait to see what she does next.
DNF for now. The audiobook isn't connecting with me, and I was so highly anticipating this book that I want to give myself the best shot at loving it.
DNF....I love an enemy to lovers story, but London is overly mean to Drew, who seems like a nice guy. I still love the cover, but it is not enough to push through to page 360.
The Hookup Plan is the third and final book in the 'Boyfriend Project' series but is the only one I have read. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying this delightful former academic rivals turned one-night stand turned coworkers story.
We first meet London on the night of her high school reunion. And it's going terribly. The last thing she wanted to do was show up alone, but after an embarrassing off-book experience that included being one of three women stood up by a man, she's forced to go solo.
Enter, Drew Sullivan, millionaire and the last person on earth London wants to see. Back in high school, London had been a shoo-in for valedictorian until Drew shows up and forces London to share the valedictorian title, something she's never let go. It's petty but I love that London's still mad at this. I'm still mad at one of my classmates who got an A in English while I got a B, so I can relate.
However, fifteen years later, when Drew shows up at the reunion, he's entirely hot, irrisible, and *shock* still just as enamored with London as he was in high school. So when they end up getting drinks at the bar together, and later his hotel room, Drew is more than happy to go along London's agreement that this be a one-night thing.
What he forget to mention, however? He's about to join the hospital that London works at, while she's expecting to never lay eyes on her rival ever again.
It's such a great story to read, lots of fun and plenty of story to go around. I love London's journey as she tries to handle her stress and health, while having an important job, and Drew's journey with his grief of losing his mum and his feelings for London.
I'll definitely be going back and checking out the other two books, but you can totally read this as standalone.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publishing team for the e-arc in exchange for a review.
I LOVE this series! Each book is similar but completely different, and can be read as stand alones too. This one is the third story, and still just as fun to read as all the rest.
This story follows the third friend of the group, London as she attends her class reunion. She re-connects with her former nemises Drew and learns she is going to have to see him more than she would like over the next few weeks. Throughout the story London deals with some personal family matters, health issues, and more while navigating some budding feelings between her and Drew.
What really draws me to these books is the way that the author is able to showcase so many different stories and personal issues in such an elegant but fun way. Each character has so many things going on and something that everyone can relate to. Its also a good reminder that you never know what someone else is dealing with. I envy the friendship between the main girls and appreciate everything they do to be there for one another throughout the series.
Something else I enjoyed about this book was that the MMC was the one to fall first. So often I feel that women are portrayed as the ones to fall in love quick and chase the guy but it was so fun to see Drew navigate his emotions and feelings for London.
Overall I loved this book and cannot wait to see what Farrah has in store for us next!
London Kelly is a stressed out, passionate doctor who need to relax. Drew Sullivan is her hot high school rival. A high school reunion and a hospital audit bring these two together and lead them to a hook up plan to help London unwind while Drew is in town.
As always, a hook up becomes more. London and Drew are both wonderful characters with rich personal lives that we see develop and change as much as their relationship. London's friends are a joy and the hospital operations backdrop is a great world for this love story.
I will definitely be going back and listening the other books in the Boyfriend Project series. I can't wait to learn more about Samiah and Taylor's relationships that we got glimpses of in this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the advanced copy.
