As always Rochon wrote a fabulous book! I love these girls so much. Reading this and watching the romance bloom made my heart happy. I can't wait to see what's next!
Old high school rivals meet again at their high school reunion and it’s safe to say sparks fly… and not all in the right direction!
London and Drew have been very successful since their high school competition of who can be valedictorian ended. They met again and their aren’t just feelings of anger rising to the surface…
This adorable and hilarious romantic comedy is so sweet! It was a great read (or listen)! I enjoyed the banter between the two MC along with all the family drama and of course the Friday nights out with the girls! I need to go read the rest of the books in this series ASAP!
Love this author and her steamy books! This one was a lot of fun, the characters had chemistry and I loved the friendships too.
I love this series, this book, these narrators, Farrah Rochon's writing... all of it. But since this is my review directly for the audio, I must say that these characters were PERFECTLY cast. I was hooked and enthralled and the voices were perfect.
My full review of the book can be found on goodreads.
This was so cute and a book I highly recommend for contemporary romance fans! I need to pick up the author’s other titles asap
Sadly, this got returned before I could get to it so the rating I'm giving it is based on the average of what people gave it. Everyone who picked this up seems to have thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait to join their ranks when I pick up the physical copy.
Amazing ending of a 3 book sequel. Throughly enjoyed this audiobook. I loved the plot especially because it was about very successful black people and their role in their communities. Also, the book enlighten the health care distress in regards to low income people and not accesible services which was also deeply discussed. Most importantly the tease in this romantic book was everything. Highly recommended.
The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon

Thank you sincerely to Netgalley, Farrah Rochon, Hachette Audio and Forever for gifting us not only an advanced digital copy, but also an advanced audio version of this fresh, fantastic and fiery novel in exchange for an honest review. I have become obsessed with audiobooks over the summer and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to read along with Marissa Hampton’s flawless narration.
Former high school rivals London and Drew reignite their 𝘉𝘓𝘈𝘡𝘐𝘕𝘎 competitive fire when their lives become interestingly intertwined in this romcom masterpiece.
The third instalment in Farrah Rochon’s “The Boyfriend Project” series features an unlikely 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 between these archenemies on the evening of their high school reunion. Consequently, the chaos that romcom dreams are made of ensues.
London, an ambitious, adept and ardent paediatric surgeon, stole my heart as the woman embodiment of the 𝘛𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘈 personality whose career and life are overly organized but whose heart is always in the right place and energy is tirelessly dedicated to ensuring the well being of everyone around her.
Enter London’s adolescent adversary: the devout, determined and discreetly-pinning Drew, a self-made millionaire and the only man who has ever been able to ruffle her feathers.
The two go head to head but end up heart to heart as they transition from enemies — to friends with benefits — to lovers. Farrah writes a sexy and sweet romcom that is so much more than a love story. It offers genuine and relatable moments inspiring emotions and reflections on career, self development, complicated familial dynamics, and self realization. The novel is propelled by fierce professional ambition, delicate love and a courageous commitment to family. It delicately handles and thoughtfully explores heartbreaking family loss and heart wrenching, complicated family dynamics.
Audiobook specifically, Marissa does a remarkable job with this story — she is a delight to listen to and, somehow, increased my interest in this story, the characters and plot through the thoughtful inflection, emotion and care she brings to the recording.
I highly recommend this novel, especially to my fellow Type A’ers who will adore, empathize with and unabashedly cheer for London finding the confidence to really stand in her power. While it isn’t necessary to read the previous two novels in the series in order to understand and enjoy this one, I do think your appreciation for the secondary characters would be elevated and enhanced having read them.

I didn't think I'd like the premises of this book, but it surprised me. I loved the enemies to lovers trope in this one. I'm guess ing this is about a 3-4 flame rating. Also, I absolutely looooooved the discussion on fatherlessness that this book brings up because everyone always thinks fatherlessness has to do with physical absence, but you rarely see it depicted as emotional and mental absence.
Thank you so much @readforever and @hatchetteaudio for the advnce reading and listening copies of The Hookup Plan so I could read and review the final book in the Boyfriend Project Series. The Hookup Plan, y Farrah Rochon came out on August 2, 2022 - available now!
If you've read this series, you'll know that this is London's book. London is a brilliant surgon who reconnects with her highschool rivel when he comes in to help develop a financial plan to keep the hospital working.
This book fits in perfectly with the rest of the series, I love seeing not only the specific relationship but also the friendship between London, Taylor and Samiya continue to stregthen as tiem goes on.
I highly recommend picking this series up, and reading them all in order. Though they would make sense on their own or out of order, the relationship between the three women is my favourite part.
I ended up going with the audiobook of this one, and the narration by Marissa Hampton really brings the story to life. Farrah Rochon's writing flows so nicely throughout all three books, I'm looking forward to her future books and will definately be keeping my eye out for her backlist titles.
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed because it was funny. I really liked the narrator I feel like she matches both people so well when reading them.
This was nice. It was entertaining enough and I enjoyed the characters. However, I think this would have been a lot better if it was just in the fmc’s point of view. It would have added a lot more “what if” and would have felt a lot less insta love on the mmc’s side. It also got a bit repetitive having both povs.
As far as the narrator goes, I thought they had a very soothing voice and did very well with the tone. But it was very clear when there was a cut in the audio or if a clip had been added later, which took me out of the story at times.
This was a cute romance. I did love the strong female protagonist. I wish that it would have been steamier and for some reason I didn’t fall in love with their relationship. Something was missing for me.
It was bittersweet to read The Hookup Plan, knowing it’s the final book in the The Boyfriend Project series. After watching Samiah and Taylor get their HEAs, I was so ready for London to get her shot! The whole reason she ended up meeting her two BFFs was because she was searching for a date for her upcoming 15 year class reunion. That “date” went viral, since the dude was also seeing Samiah and Taylor. London ends up flying solo to her reunion, with the added notoriety of the recent viral video.
London doesn’t have time to focus too much on the present, when so much of her future is at stake. She’s at the tail end of a prestigious pediatric surgery residency, looking forward to what comes next in her career. She loves the work she does at a county hospital in Austin, but she wants to make her mark in a more long lasting way, and she thinks she’s going to have to look elsewhere to make that happen.
She doesn’t plan on reuniting with her high school rival at the reunion, but when Drew shows up, London decides to end her dry spell with a hate-ish hookup. One hookup leads to… more, and they decide to keep their friends-with-benefits arrangement going.
Drew felt a little differently about London in high school, more reverence than rival. Now that he has a shot at getting to know her better, he’s all in. Except for the part where his company is tasked with huge budget overhauls at her hospital that could put her livelihood on the line… nbd, right?
This has all the humor, heart, and heat I’ve come to expect from Farrah Rochon books. There are layers of so many emotions built in. From past grief and trauma to present anxieties, Farrah dives into deep, complex stories without making them seem too heavy. The chemistry and steam between the two is so good! Drew was so dreamy, and I loved how thoughtful he was toward London.
This was okay on audio. I loved the narrator’s (Marissa Hampton’s) voice, but there was some weird emphasis in unexpected places that took me out of the story several times, and she almost took kind of an apathetic tone during some of the steamier scenes. (Thanks to Hachette Audio for an ALC via NetGalley Shelf.) The “I shouldn’t eat this because I need to be healthy” talk was also a little heavy handed (even with the health issues she faced). On audio, it's closer to 3.5 stars rounded up. Despite those small personal issues, I truly loved The Hookup Plan, and will always look forward to picking up anything Farrah writes!
I'm so sad to see this series end as I loved reading about these characters and how they found their love matches. London and Drew's story takes on misogyny in the workplace and at home, but also brings humor and strength. The chemistry between them is hot from the beginning and enjoyed their story. Marissa Hampton is great as the narrator and I loved the audiobook.
So, enemies-to-lovers is my favorite trope💜. ALSO, I love reading books set in my hometown, Austin, Texas. This book has both 😍👏.

London Kelley is a pediatric surgeon, and she’s stressed. Her blood pressure is not a fan. Her besties, Taylor and Samiah, think a hookup will help. At her high school reunion, London runs into her old nemesis, Drew Sullivan. He’s hot, rich, and lives across the country, the perfect one-night stand. When she learns he will be in town for a while on business and working at her hospital, her initial mortification morphs into a hookup plan. She’s a busy surgeon, so no emotions involved, no dating, and absolutely no strings attached. But can London stick to her own plan?
.
I love the boss lady vibes from all the females in this book. London is a brilliant witty superstar in her field, and her friends are thriving professionally as well. I loved that their meetups occurred at some of my favorite Austin restaurants 😍!
.
This book was fabulous as a stand-alone, but I also plan to read the first two books. I read and listened to this book. The narration by Marissa Hampton was amazing 💜. Thank you to @readforeverpub and @hachetteaudio for these digital ARCs in exchange for an honest review.

The Hookup Plan - Farrah Rochon
4/5⭐️
Pub Date: 🎉8/2/2022 OUT NOW!🎉
Residency can be tough, but London is determined and is always working. Her friends notice London's behavior and encourage her to initiate a hook up plan. Brushing off her friends' idea, London is in charge of planning her 15 year reunion, since she was class president. It is here we meet Drew. Drew and London were always in competition and neck and neck with academics. But they are adults now, can she forget that he is her enemy? Mustering up enough courage to forget the past, they spend the night together. This falls right into her plan. Just a casual hook up. A one and done.
Or so she thought.
Drew is a multi millionaire, who's company runs audits on hospitals. So imagine London's surprise when she notices Drew in her all-staff meeting.
London is a strong FMC. She battles with love and acceptance stemmed from her family issues. Drew is very charismatic, but holds onto resentment from his past. These two overcome a lot in the book. It is not just about their romance, but the fact that these two were able to get to the bottom of their own issues whilst finding and securing their feelings for each other.
-I have not read the previous books in the series and did not feel lost.
*Thank you Netgalley for an ARC, but this is my honest review.
A hilarious romantic comedy with a little bit of family drama thrown in, The Hookup Plan is a beautiful enemies to lovers story.
London, now a pediatric surgeon resident, had been the top of her class all her life. When Drew, now a multimillionaire, entered her life back in grade school, he was neck in neck competition with London. London and Drew are reunited at the class reunion... But wait, Drew didn't just enter her life for the school reunion, he entered it for business as well!
This story about navigating the muddy waters of relationships and family is equal parts funny and serious. I loved the hospital setting, I thrive on it due to my work and have always been a Grey's Anatomy fan ❤️
London and Drew got more than they bargained for in their deal gone awry.
Loved it! I laughed out loud multiple times. Frenemies to lovers at its finest. An absolutely perfect example of adults falling in love and communicating with each other as adults. No nonsensical fights or break ups just for the sake of having a break up. Both characters were fun and kind, and yet still had opportunities for character growth.
The audio was fantastic. Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publishers, and especially the author for such a wonderfully fun read.
If I could climb to the top of the highest mountain in the world and shout my love for Drew Sullivan, I would. However, as an asthmatic, I'd probably die before I reached base camp.
Instead, I'll tell you right here that Drew Freaking Sullivan is boyfriend goals. His character is sexy as hell, steamy as all get out, rich beyond belief, and equally as sweet and thoughtful.
Drew has had feelings for London Kelley since high school, but the woman has always seen Drew as her absolute nemesis. She despised him in high school and despises him when they cross paths years later at their high school reunion. Despite the vitriol she felt for the man, she is drawn to his beautiful looks and words and enters into a no-strings attached hookup arrangement with Drew.
Little does she know, she'll be working closely with Drew over the next several weeks as he works to audit the county hospital where London has been completing her residency as a pediatric surgeon.
The two clash heads in almost every sense of the way, except for where the bedroom is concerned. Both London and Drew will have to work through past trauma and family issues while learning to trust what has bloomed between them.
The Hookup Plan was a fantastic listen full of emotion. Marissa Hampton was fantastic as the narrator and I absolutely LOVED her portrayal of Drew's voice. If you're someone who is into SUPER spicy books, this book serves as a great palette cleanser. If you like moderate heat in a sexy second-chance setting, this is also the book for you.
Basically, read this book and fall in love with Drew Sullivan the same way I have!
