This was my first Farrah Rochon book. I think the book was well written and I enjoyed the characters, but the story was a little boring to me. There was no real umph, excitement, or conflict to the story, and kind of just dragged on. I’ll definitely give her other books a chance, but I just didn’t love this one.

When you run into your old nemesis at your high school reunion sparks can fly in more way than one. They say there is a thin line between love and hate, this book proves it.

The Hookup Plan by Farrah Rochon is the third book in this series (but can be read as a standalone) and is the story of London who has been one of my favorite characters throughout this series.

London is a successful pediatric surgeon who has no time for things like boyfriends or relationships. When she runs into Drew, her former HS nemeses at her 15 year High School Reunion she finds the perfect opportunity for a one night stand. She soon learns that Drew is actually in town with his company who is conducting an evaluation of the hospital where London works to evaluate how to try to save it from sale. While Drew is in town, he and London continue to have a series of hook ups that look and feel more and more like a relationship. How will London navigate these conflicting feelings?

London and Drew are really great characters and I have LOVED this whole series by Farrah. I thought this book started with a bang. I loved the set up at the HS reunion and the rivalry between Drew and London. London is the queen of sass and banter so their back and forth was so much fun to read. I felt like the story kind of fizzled at the end though. It ended so abruptly I thought I had hit something on my audio book and skipped chapters.

I listened to the audio book of this one and the narration is excellent. I loved getting to experience this amazing banter via audio book. I was laughing in my car and while listening.

Overall, this is a good read but not my favorite book of the series. I do love Farrah's writing and will continue to read everything she does.

Thank you to Forever and Hachette Audio for allowing me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Steamy high school enemies to adult lovers alert! The third installment of the boyfriend project series does not disappoint. I appreciate the focus on female friendships and relationships that build over time.

London is a highly hardworking pediatric surgeon trying to decide whether to stay at her current hospital or take a prestigious fellowship in a big city. Drew is a wealthy financial mogul who comes to London's hospital as an auditor. But Drew and London aren't strangers -- they hated each other in high school, competing for grades and recognition as their school's most brilliant students.

The chemistry sizzles despite the initial connection seemingly coming from hatred. Soon, however, London and Drew realize they might've misunderstood and misjudged each other. The connection reminded me a bit of The Hating Game (one person's attempts to impress end up being misconstrued as an attempt to slight the other). The issues in the book felt authentic and I appreciated London and Drew's communication, specifically about their fears and hopes for the future, professionally or personally. I also appreciated that there was a focus on healthcare access and inequality.

Highly recommend it for romance readers who love enemies to lovers!

I loved the book and the narrator was amazing. She really brought London and her uptightness to life. It was great.

TW: Parental death, neglect, gaslighting, sexual discrimination in the workplace

2.5-3ish stars

The Hook Up Plan is my first Farrah Rochon novel and mainly picked it because it had a cute cover and sounded like a good enemies to lovers romance.

London is a pediatric surgeon in Austin, TX and comes face to face with her high school academic rival Drew, at their fifteen year reunion. After some banter and flirting they end up tumbled in the sheets together experiencing some of the best sex either one of them have ever had (their own words). London thinks it’s a one time stress reliever she will never see him again but is rudely proven wrong when Drew shows up to her hospital on the audit team that helps the hospital determine whether to sell or not.

Drew and London go back and forth and end up keeping up this “stress relieving” hook up deal going until they slowly start to catch feelings for one another

I found London really annoying. She was very much I HATE YOU SO MUCH BUT I NEED TO FUCK YOU. It was a bit much. Also who holds on to such a grudge for 15 years when you haven’t seen that person since?? It was weird and over the top. She’s very rude to Drew, not letting him apologize for deceiving her even this she admits to herself she would probably react the same way if he has told her the first time they hooked up.

I did love Drew tho. He had a thing for her since high school and never acted on it and now that he’s all grown up he’s still carrying a torch for her. He was rich but also was kind and caring and didn’t flaunt his status. I loved that he refused to let her get away with just using him for sex and demanded meetups out side of the hospital and the bedroom.

I felt this story really dragged on more than necessary. 30-70% was hard to keep reading and I do wish there was more SHOWING of spice than just TELLING. I think it would’ve made the story more meaningful. I couldn’t grasp the chemistry between the two characters as much as I would’ve if there was some action going on, not fade to black scenes.

I was generously provided with an audio ARC for this book and to be honest I had to speed this one way up because it dragged so much. And I’m not sure if it was the narrator Marissa Hampton’s first time or not but she would get squeaky in some parts that would really grate on my ears. Also the sound had a tendency to lower and random parts like she was backing away from the mic? It was not the best audio experience but not the worst I’ve ever experienced either.

Thank you so much to Hachette Audio and Forever books for providing me and audio ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Happy Publication day! I loved the last book in The Boyfriend Project series.
London & Drew's story was everything! I also liked how the other women & their guys were featured. These 3 ladies and their stories are hilarious. This book was my favorite of the three in the series.

RomCom- Enemies to lovers.

Thanks for the advanced audiobook!

Audiobook Review:
This one featured enemies to lovers provided by a workplace romance where Drew has been hired by London’s hospital where she is a pediatric surgeon. London’s determination to be enemies stemmed from high school when Drew moved to town and knocked her from being valedictorian to co-valedictorians which made her relationship with her father even more difficult when she lost her thing that he could care about and brag about.

They decide to have a hookup of convienes plan even though Drew wanted more from the start, ha wing had feelings for her since High School.

Drew was super likable and was such a successful and generous person that always wanted the best for those around him, including London even when she was focused on trying to be enemies.

London was harder to like as she moved forward very singularly focused most of the book and was pretty selfish in most of how she behaved.

Thank you NetGalley, Hachette Audio, and Forever Publishers for the ARC of this audiobook! I am so thankful to obtain a copy to listen to it in advance of its release!

London was such a delightful MC! I adored how outspoken and tough she was. And I could really relate to her relationship with her dad. Drew was ok but the reason I really loved this book was because of London and her relationships. I enjoyed the narrator on this audiobook.

This was such a fun and quick read. I read the ebook prior to this audiobook. And this audiobook didn't disappoint either! Marissa Hampton did a great job narrating the main characters.

This was a solid 4⭐️ from me and I would highly recommend for anyone to get the book or the audiobook.

I didn't love the last two books as much as I loved this one and I don't know if it was because of the narrator or the story
London was the best - she had a head on her shoulder, she was funny, dry, and just overall amazing
she has some baggage and clear daddy issues but I loved her with all that
Drew was adorable, especially his level of crush on London was amazing to watch

The spicy scene was so good - I just couldn't get enough. The narrator was great at the male and female voices - It was a wonderful experience. And I loved the whole thing

Happy Book Birthday to this wonderful book, The Hookup Plan! 🥳📚🎂💜

This book was so bittersweet to read because it is the final book in the The Boyfriend Project series and I will miss this world so much! Each book is a standalone and focuses on a different couple but are interconnected through the wonderful friendship of 3 friends, Samiah, Taylor & London. This is London's story.

London, a pediatric surgeon decides to take her friend's advice and embark on a casual hookup. London just never thought it would be with Drew her gorgeous former hedge fund high school nemesis all grown up with lickable AF!🥵 They embark on a "no strings" sizzling series of hookups that ties them both up in love knots 😁💜

The Hookup Plan is a sexy, smart, fun book that also focuses on #femalefriendship , #toxicrelationships & #familydrama . London and Drew set fire to my earbuds with their smexiness. Listening to them fall in love, overcome their pass hurts and work together on saving the county hospital that London works at was so satisfying. Drew is an amazing, swoony hero that was perfect for London. I loved this #blacklove #couplegoals romance and the narration was awesome!

Thank you @readforeverpub for my copies of this wonderful book & @hachetteaudio for this amazing ALC.

I have absolutely loved this series, and in this final book we finally get London’s story! She’s probably the one that I identified the most with, so I was excited to learn more about her!!

My favorite thing about all three of these books has been the incredibly supportive, honest, and bad ass female friendships! Rochon is so talented at writing this - I hope she gives us more in the future, because I will miss these friends!

💜What to expect:
•Enemies to lovers
•Old high school rivals
•Strong, smart, caring surgeon heroine
•Multi millionaire hero with a heart - I have a MAJOR crush
•Great focus on work life and family balance
•Incredible friendships and updates on the girls!

🎧The narrator and icing of the audiobook was great and really kept me invested in the story!

As the final book in the series, I have to say I will miss these girls!! They are technically stand alone books, but read from the beginning for the best experience and full backstory!

Have you ever avoided starting a book because you didn’t want the series to end? That’s exactly what I did with this book. I was fortunate enough to get an early copy, but it took me forever to actually pick it up because I was so sad to say goodbye to London, Samiah, and Taylor. I have adored this series from the beginning, and all 3 books have been 5 star reads for me.

The Hookup Plan is London’s story and starts off at her high school reunion. As a pediatric surgeon, she doesn’t have a lot of time for dating, so her best friends tell her she needs to find a guy to hook up with at her reunion. What she doesn’t expect, however, is for that guy to be Drew, her high school rival turned millionaire. When he shows up at her work, as part of the team deciding the fate of her hospital, they decide to continue to hook up…

I adored this story…the witty banter, all the steam, the incredible female friendships, and amazing female leads….what’s not to love? AND it’s enemies to lovers - my favorite trope! Drew was the perfect man for London and I’m so glad she finally got her HEA. I also loved seeing where Samiah and Taylor were in their lives! Reading this book was such a treat and it might even be my favorite book of the series.

I listened to some of this on audio (I couldn’t put it down so I needed all the formats) and I loved Marissa Hampton’s narration!

Thank you to Forever Publishing, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for the advance copies.

Loved this 3rd book in the series! I was thrilled to get the chance to read London's story. This group of friends is so fun and I love the each story has a slightly different feel because of the main character's personality. Recommend this whole rom-com series!

This series has been so much fun and London's book was no different. I love seeing strong women go after what they want. I did get a little hung up on some details being wrong. Both working with, and seeing my brother go through residency, I know a little about how jt works and the book was very wring in several aspects. That said, this was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read.

3.5/5 - Audiobook, via NetGally EARC

I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't my favorite in the series, but the benefits but not friends trope isn't one of my favorites. However, I loved Drew falling for her in high school, and the complexities of both of their characters. Overall, I absolutely recommend this series and the three female MC's were all so strong and relatable! This book just wasn't one I'll be obsessing over. Additionally, I enjoyed the narrator - I'm not a fan of a single narrator for a romance, by Marissa Hampton did well at distinguishing the two voices without make either sound obnoxiously exaggerated for their gender.

Brief Plot: After attending her high school reunion, London is face to face with her school nemesis. Who's incredibly attractive now. So attractive, they end up having a one night stand. But the next day when she goes to work, and he's there on a specialty assignment, the two begin to spend more time together for a friends with benefits situation, but London isn't ready to even be Drew's friend. Until he proves to her time and time again that he is a man she can start to put her trust and faith into.

Thank you NetGalley , and Hachette Audio, for an eARC Audiobook version of The Hookup Plan, by Farrah Rochon. This is my honest review!

Enemies to lovers, ex-high school rivals? Bring it on.
London and Drew competed for valdictorian in high school. For Drew everything came easy, the grades, the sports, the popularity and London despised him for that. She was on a mission to make her dad proud of her and finally get the attention she deserved from him, but he wasn't impressed with co-valdictorian. Drew came in as the new kid after moving around a lot. He wasn't sure of anything other than he liked the rivalry with London even if she hated him more than she liked him, he still crushed on her hard.
Fast forward to their 15 year reunion. Drew shows up (without RSVPing) and sees London again. London is a successfull pediatric surgeon and works at the public hospital that Drew has been hired to save. London still thinks of Drew as a thorn in her side, but also can't deny their chemistry.
These two had the best banter. London has so much baggage from her past and her father that it is hard for her to trust and Drew has so much guilt for the loss of his mother. Each of them has to navigate these things and realize that they can grow from these experiences and process their losses. I immediately loved Drew, he was so smitten and I loved hearing his inner dialogue about how much he still wanted her to see him the way he saw her. I loved checking in with London's friends too! The narration was great too, I felt so invested in these two.
Thank you to Forever, Netgalley and Farrah Rochon for an early copy.

3.5 rounded up to 4. ENEMIES TO LOVERS SUPREMACY!!! I love it!! So much!!! They decide to enter a 'mutually satisfying sexual arrangement' and GUESS WHAT THEY CATCH FEELINGS!! AMAZING! I love a string headed female lead, and a respectful man. And like a long term grudge/rivarly that turns into sexual frustration and feelings I love it! Also big opposites attract vibes which I love. I will definitely be picking up the previous books that focus on her Best Friends Samiah and Taylor. It took a bit of getting into and understanding the characters and why they were the way they are but once you saw insights into their life it was very clear! It was quite plot driven for a romance book, there was still romance and spice and of course good banter but also a lot of plot which I actually quite enjoyed!

Thank you so much Netgallery for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

4.5 stars rounded up!

This has to be my favorite series. I fell in love with the BOYFRIEND PROJECT back in 2020, and each book continuously gets better in my opinion. I think this may have been my favorite installment of the series! I love this series because it’s way more than just romance, each character has the opportunity to find herself and make choices best for her life, whether that’s professionally or personally.

The only thing that irked me was how much London held on to high-school (because it’s mentioned a lot to start), but duh, that’s the premise of her budding romance.

But once London got over her high-school grudge, I really enjoyed how everything else in her life became more clear, similar to how dominoes fall. I thought she grew a lot and it was a great way to complete the circle for all three women. But okay can this series continue?! I mean, seems like there’s an opportunity for one more.

Overall, I love this series and will recommend it to anyone who needs a romance in their life. Each can be read as a stand alone, but each book mentions something from the previous. It’s not confusing, but readers may not understand the context. London’s story gave me Grey’s Anatomy vibes.

Big thank you to Netgalley, Forever Pub, and Hachette Audio for the ALC! This one drops August 2.
