A pretty good third installment. I really enjoyed learning more about Keira’s past. It does feel like the story somewhat abruptly switched from A to B plot at times but overall it was good.

Title: A Spectacular Blend of Spookiness and Thrills
Rating: ★★★★★
"Sometimes you end up with ugly bits in your life. Things you'd give anything to go back and erase. But the past is immovable, and your choices are set in stone, and you just have to try to figure out how to live with what's been done."
In the remarkable third installment of the Gravekeeper series, titled The Twisted Dead, Darcy Coates takes readers on a captivating journey that surpasses all expectations. Keira, our main character blessed—or perhaps cursed—with the ability to communicate with the deceased, resides in a quaint groundskeeper's cottage near the cemetery, accompanied by her bewitching feline companion, Daisy.
Ghostly apparitions, a mischievous cat, a haunted house, vampire spirits, and an enthralling friendship trio—Zoe and Mason—transport readers into a world where unfinished stories unravel and lingering questions finally find answers. Keira delves into her own past, uncovering the truth behind those who have relentlessly pursued her. Meanwhile, we gain deeper insight into Mason's departure from medical school and the enigmatic Zoe, whose wit and intellect shine through her skepticism about modern technology.
Darcy Coates, once again, proves to be an outstanding storyteller, and The Twisted Dead stands as my favorite installment in the Gravekeeper series thus far. These books strike a perfect balance between spine-tingling suspense and uproarious humor. Coates effortlessly suspends disbelief, crafting a tale that feels wholly believable within its supernatural framework. The unveiling of Keira's backstory kept me engrossed throughout, while the characters surrounding her—particularly Zoe and Harry—add a delightful touch of charm to the narrative.
Each page of The Twisted Dead burst with a fusion of spine-chilling specters and heart-pounding thrills, leaving an indelible mark on readers long after the book is closed. The suspense skillfully builds, keeping readers on their toes, and Coates consistently surprises with unexpected twists, ensuring the novel remains a gripping and exhilarating read.
If you are a fan of thrillers, horror, and suspense, The Twisted Dead is an absolute must-read. Darcy Coates has once again delivered a jaw-dropping masterpiece that will leave you craving more. And should you find yourself new to Coates' works, I wholeheartedly recommend starting with The Haunting of Ashburn House, venturing through the impressive eighteen books she has penned, all of which have left me astounded and never once disappointed.
The Gravekeeper series continues to solidify Darcy Coates' position as one of my favorite authors. The Whispering Dead, Ravenous Dead, and now The Twisted Dead have captivated my imagination and left an insatiable desire for the next installment. With each release, Coates reaffirms her mastery of storytelling and reinforces the fact that when a new book of hers hits the shelves, dropping everything to read it becomes a necessity.
In summary, The Twisted Dead is an exceptional blend of spookiness, thrills, and unforgettable characters. Darcy Coates' ability to craft riveting tales that leave readers both breathless and eager for more is nothing short of extraordinary. Do yourself a favor and experience the chilling allure of The Twisted Dead; it is an undeniably incredible read.

I'm so happy I finally got to this one! This series is so fun and relaxing to read! I truly perfect cozy horror! I enjoyed this latest installment of the Gravekeeper series! My favorite character is Zooey! She is hilarious! I'm so excited for the next one!
Thanks, netgalley for this arc!

I hadn't realized that this was part of a series when I was approved for it and had to work through the first two but man was it worth it!

Another installation of what has become one of my favorite series by Darcy Coates. Love the characters and the balance between serious and comedy that is achieved. However, I found this one a smidge less exciting than the others in the series. More of a connecting book between the last one and the one to come next.

I was not aware that this was a part of a series when I picked it up but I was pleased to know that it works as a standalone book, too. This was a bit of a genre-bender, combing horror, romance, and comedy expertly. I usually expect a cozy horror with Coates' books but the Twisted Dead was something new for me. I'll definitely be going back to read more about Keira and her amazing gift.

I enjoyed the story. It felt more like a cozy book to me and I really enjoyed that part. It was cute and cozy and I enjoyed following the character as she tries to help the spirits.

I just love this series. Coming back to it is like seeing friends after a long time apart, comforting and then, bam!, we are right back to where we left off.
In this 3rd book in the Gravekeeper series, only a bit of time has passed since book 2.
As much as Kiera needs time to sort out her own problems, including helping the ghosts in her graveyard and old buddy has asked the gang for help. Dane Crispin is dealing with ghosts of his own, which may explain his unfriendly personality.
Loved every minute of this.

3.5 This is the first book I have read in this series and really enjoyed it and look forward to picking up more from this author in the future. This cute paranormal mystery follows Kiera as she starts to investigate a mansion she always found unique and. the spirits within. I thought this was a really great cute easy read with spooky vibes to me this felt more cozy than horror but still really enjoyed the banter. I feel like fans of Charlene Harris may enjoy this it had similar episodic mystery vibes which I really enjoy. The characters were really entertaining I feel like I missed some of the development since this is the third book of the series but I was still able to catch up and follow along. I really enjoy Darcy Coates writing as well it’s very engaging and fast paced. I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read this story for an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Read if you like:
👻 haunted mansions/graveyards
👻 creepy, crawly scenery and atmosphere
👻 supernatural thrillers
I have read a few Darcy Coates’ before, and I really love the subject matter! They are all absolutely perfect for spooky season! This is the 3rd in the series so I was a little worried that I have not read the first two, but I can happily report that you do not need to read the previous ones; these are all standalones.
The beginning and the end were good and really pulled me in, but I have to admit the middle was a little slower than I would have liked. It almost felt like I was reading a different story in the middle 🤷🏼♀️
I will admit that the story did all come back together in the end, but I had to take off one star because the middle almost made me DNF the whole book 😬
I didn’t mind Keira, but I did not care for the other characters in the book at all; I was almost annoyed by them 👎🏻
Overall, this was not my favourite Darcy Coates 🎃 but I will definitely read more by this author because I usually enjoy them much more than I did this one.

I did not realize that this is book 3 in the series so no wonder I was confused. I had to put it down until after I get the chance to read the first 2 books .
I do like the author’s writing style though and I know I will love the series

I have to respectfully disagree with those who say this is a good read as a stand-alone. I couldn’t get into it, and thus it was a painful slog. i am not intrigued enough to want to spend more time reading the first two books in the series. While I like Darcy Coates other works (leading me to request this book), I can’t say this series is for me.
Thank you to the publisher, author, and NerGalley for the chance to read a digital galley in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a roller coaster! I couldnt see the direction it was going and it turned out to be so fun! I flew through the last half to see what happened I couldn’t put it down. I love seeing Kiera and her gang get through ghosty situations. Lots of fun from Darcy Coates!

This was a fun book. Not at all what I had expected. I was hoping for a haunted house read and instead g
It a great character driven story that drew me in more than the ghosts. I now have to go back and read the first 2 books because I didn’t realize this was a series.
Highly recommend.

Another brilliant read. I seem to be hitting the jackpot with these fantasy, witchy reads! Darcy Coates' writing had me hooked from the get go, brilliant character development throughout and an overall brilliant story

Where do I begin? Darcy Coates is one of my favorite authors and an instant buy author for me as well. I have not been disappointed in any of her books and will continuously recommend her. This book was not an exception! As the third book to this series I already knew going into this book I would enjoy it. The only thing is with this series, is that it’s definitely leaning more towards a mystery rather than a horror story. I liked Keira and I liked the plot but I do tend to stay towards more of Darcy Coates haunted houses and horror figures such as in the haunting of Blackwood house and Dead lake for example

I love this series because I get really engrossed in the spooky adventures that Kiera gets into, and it's difficult for me to stop reading the book. The supporting characters are really great. Zoe is very enjoyable, and I really like Harry. This novel is really well written and everything that Darcy Coates does is truly amazing. This book was a really fun and exciting story about strange things happening. It contained abundant friendship, and I found it highly enjoyable.

Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy.

This is the third installment in the Gravekeeper series. I am enjoying this series immensely and cannot wait to see where she takes it from here. There are two major story lines that need to be finished up, so I anticipate at least one more book. I did feel part of the ending was rushed, but I can't say what part without spoiling a scene. I can say it was in a graveyard, since a lot happens in graveyards it won't spoil it, but you will know when you get there. I love the friends she has made, and I can't tell who is my favorite. Harry is something else and I would love to see him and the newest friend in the next book. Again, can't say who or it will give it away. What I can say is I love the mix of them and how they are all there to help her. And the romantic in me is hoping for her to finally let in the boy who so clearly loves her.

3 stars!
I read this as a standalone and my first Darcy Coates novel and I think that might have been my mistake. I think unfortunately it wasn't really my type of horror as I don't like ghosts or possession. I do think that there is a right audience for this novel-particularly people who like paranormal mysteries with quirky ghosts, but unfortunately that audience might not be me.
