Description
"In the third installment of her Gravekeeper series, [Darcy] Coates raises the stakes...worried that someone may be using an army of the undead to take over the world? Coates has your number."―Kirkus Reviews
Keira must decide if she should use her ability to contact ghosts to help the man who once tried to kill her.
Hunted and haunted, all she wants is to put her mysterious past behind her and move forward with her new friends as Blighty Graveyard's groundskeeper. But then she receives an invitation to dinner at the local recluse's crumbling ancestral estate. The mansion is steeped in history that is equal parts complicated and bloody―and at its center is the man who once tried to kill her, now begging for her help.
Dane Crispin believes his home is haunted―and that the unquiet dead clawing through the ancient house are after him. Unnerved but intrigued, Keira opens her second sight and discovers he's right: resentful specters cling to Dane...and if she can't find a way to stop them, threaten to consume everything in their path.
There's something dark happening in the world beyond most peoples' vision, and if Keira isn't able to sever the ties between the living and the dead, the chained spirits may not be the only things twisted beyond saving.

"Sometimes you end up with ugly bits in your life. Things you’d give anything to go back and erase. But the past is immovable, and your choices are set in stone, and you just have to try to figure out how to live with what’s been done."
The third book of Gravekeeper collection is the BEST!
Keira has a gift, if gift be even the right word for someone who can see the dead. She lives in a groundskeeper cottage near cemetery and also has a black magic cat, Daisy. :)
What more do we need? Ghosts, Daisy, well let me see, haunted house, vampire spirits, two cool and fellow friends (Zoe and Mason), one unusual friend-Harry, chase and run on a trip road and Twisted Deads!
This time unfinished stories and unanswer questions reveal. Keira figured out about her past and people who has been after her, we get to know more about Mason and why he left medical school, and Zoe, my favorite,
"Smart technology is a pretty bow put on top of a corporate spy machine. Do you want the government sending laser beams into your ear to burrow a hole straight through your squishy, malleable brain? Huh?"
Darcy Coates is one of my favorite and I really enjoyed Gravekeeper series, as there is more mission to complete, I eagerly waiting for next book.
Huge thanks to Poisoned Pen Press via NetGalley for giving me a chance of reading The Twisted Dead (Gravekeeper #3) by Darcy Coates, I have given my honest review.

Darcy Coates once again shows how adaptable she is as an author with her latest, The Twisted Dead. With charismatic characters and a fast paced plot, The Twisted Dead is sure to entertain. I couldn't put the book down, and I didn't want the story to stop.
The only disappointment with this book is that I have to wait for a sequel. If you are looking for a fun story involving mystery and ghosts, this is the book for you.
This might be the most action-packed book of The Gravekeeper Series yet! It can be read as a stand-alone but I definitely recommend reading all the books in order and meeting the characters from the beginning since through the books their backstories progress.
In this story we get to know Dane and the history of his family as he invites Kiera, Mason, and Zoe over to his crumbling and haunted mansion. The description of what those ghosts are doing [no spoilers but ohmygosh] was so unsettling and you really hope Kiera can help him out.
The reason why Mason left Medical School is also addressed and he is able to find some closure with Kiera's help. More is also revealed about Kiera's past and the men who were chasing her when she arrived in Blighty; including what they are up to and why Kiera is a threat to them.
I cannot wait to read more of this series. Darcy Coates has me on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next.
The Twisted Dead is the third book in a series. This was a quick and cozy read, with a great cast of characters. I highly recommend this book if you love spooky stories.
Thank you to NetGalley and Black Owl Books for the arc.
Another excellent installment in this cozy horror series from Darcy Coates. Engaging, likable characters, engaging plot, and enough mystery and humor to keep the series moving at a clip. Darcy reigns as the queen of cozy horror.
Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for an advanced copy for review.
The 3rd installment of The Gravekeeper series is definitely my favorite so far. We rejoin Keira, Zoe, and Mason while they try to exterminate some particularly devious ghosts, as well as find out more about Keira's past.
I absolutely love these books. Darcy Coates continues to deliver excellent ghost stories that are horrifying with a side of wholesome. Which, like, how do you do that? I don't know, but Darcy Coates always adds a bit of lightheartedness into her novels that keep me coming back to them as comfort books. I find myself laughing at Zoe's quirkiness and Harry's dark offhand comments and then being absolutely floored by the way Keira's story unfolds.
There is also something to be said about the why Coates has begun integrating political metaphors into her novels. So much of the horror genre is political and I think this greatly captures private sector monopolistic greed and the (literal) soul-sucking capitalist society which feeds it. Ghosts and capitalist conspiracies - what more could I ask for in a horror novel?
By nature, I am not a huge fan of series but I excitedly await new installments in this series! The Gravekeeper series is what I like to call “cozy horror”. It’s just the right blend of spooky and endearing without being sleep with the lights on scary. I feel like it’s Darcy Coates at her best. I love the paranormal elements of a main character who sees ghosts mixed with the cozy element of her loyal crew of friends both human and spirit that help her right wrongs and solve mysteries. Each book in the series wraps up with a very satisfactory ending that still compels me to await the next installment. If you’re coming off a spooky vibes high and want to mix in a little cozy, give this series a try!
