“When did you realize you were beautiful?” That’s literally the first thing I read in this book and I immediately knew this author gets women. I never thought about changing my beauty habits by the season. This book was a game changer. I just turned 45 and for the first time really noticing what helps my skin. This book really set me on a new path.

This is a very helpful lifestyle guide to aim for a better quality of life through a healthy, holistic lifestyle. Written by physician Trevor Cates, this goes over hormones, digestion, food, exercises, habits and seasonal changes that can be made. It offers an approach to a healthy diet and has recipes for each season along with helpful DIY skincare recipes such as a fantastic winter body scrub made with a coffee ground base and a soothing lip balm.

A great book to learn about recipes and how to let your own natural beauty shine. Its filled with recipes that focus on on food, movement, mindset and skincare. I enjoy the option of learning about foods, recipes for hormone balance and learning how hormone and food play an important rule in day to day life and how the foods and food we eat shape our world with or without us knowing it.

"Natural Beauty Reset" by Dr. Trevor Cates is helpful and informative. It presents that the solution to authentic beauty is found in rhythms, wisdom, and natural healing, and provides meal plans, recipes, and valuable insights. I'm looking forward to implementing the Fall Reset and will be purchasing the book in hardcover as a resource. Highly recommended for health and beauty fans. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

This book gave helpful tips. Is seemed like explanations given were true. Advice was season driven, which appears to be helpful as it incorporates seasonally available items.

Dr. Cates advocates doing a seasonal "reset" == which basically means eating foods, and changing up skincare and self-care practices, to suit the seasons. The meal ideas and recipes seem delicious (I've tried a few smoothies). Some of the skincare ideas can be expensive, though Cates does list ingredients so that one can find budget-friendly options. In all, it's a useful guide for those of us who can benefit from a reminder of what is actually in season (when we can buy almost anything at any time) and how our daily activities should change as the year progresses.

Excellent advice on year-round skin care, exercise tips, foods to eat and recipes. I especially liked the section with DIY skin care recipes, all of which used common kitchen ingredients that I had on hand. Good information on skin care.

Thank you Netgalley and the Publisher for the advance reader's copy.

This will serve as a good resource for those experiencing hurdles and no other medical officer can figure out.
It is a great starting point for those wanting to investigate why they may be feeling not quite right.

It is always best to check with your doctors/pa/np but this book can help you along. Great info on exercise, skincare and food.

This is a pretty good book that's a lot like other good books out there on the topic, with more focus on hormones than I'm used to. The basic premise is that you will have better skin if you eat and live a more healthy life. A lot of the focus is on food -- healthy, seasonal, whole foods. There is a seasonal aspect to the advice which is cool, with suggestions for how to exercise, eat and treat your skin in each season. There are a few whole foods recipes for each season (There is no nutritional info) and there are a few homemade skin care recipes. There's a lot of focus on getting toxins out of your life, your food, and your skin products, but everything is rather short and to the point in the whole book. There's also a lot of focus on balancing hormones with medications, which I'm not used to in beauty books.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

I’m naturally skeptical of holistic healthcare because I am very pro-medicine but I found this Dr. likable. I use natural products whenever I can(cleaning supplies, skincare, etc) and I watch what I put in my body. I’m also a chronic pain patient who’s tried every weird tip and trick out there to heal myself to no avail. I had to see if there were any new ones in here.

I guess my main question going into this was whether or not you could follow this while being on medication. There’s just not a way for me to be off of birth control or antidepressants, as much as I may want to. The short answer to my question is no. Being on meds kind of invalidates the whole lifestyle idea of the book but you could take a “every little bit helps” approach.

I did find some things useful, like eating seasonally. Actually most of the food part was good. I just try not to stress too much about that because with chronic illness, you feel more defeated with everything that doesn’t work. I was really into this stuff a few years ago when Jessica Alba released her book. This is just as good, if that’s your thing. It’s very technical, even if I don’t necessarily believe in all of the science.

Yet again, it is another lifestyle book that will really only work for the wealthiest and most privileged among us. People who don’t live in food deserts and can buy all organic food. But for normal people, especially with inflation, it just isn’t realistic.
