While I found this book to have good information, it did seem to be a bit repetitive at times. I am a lover of self help books, but this one just missed the mark because it didn't provide much new information. While it could be useful for some, I don't know that the information was groundbreaking. That being said, it could be a good gift for somebody who struggles with negative self talk. Overall, it did was it set out to do, but wasn't the best positive affirmation book that I've read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

I thought this was a cute way to start your morning off on the right foot. A little too cutesy for me at times but still good.

This book was good but a little slow
I have started doing the 5 minute coffee self talk in the morning.
I wish the book was less slow.

I loved the concept of this book. I love coffee and I am a self proclaimed self help addict, so it spoke to me. At first I was a bit put of my the girlfriend-y language used. I typically read science -based self help and parenting books and actually read Shad Helmstetter'd book last year. I realized that the target audience of this book wasn't like me in that way. As I continued to read it, it just felt very repetitive. Even 2 chapters in, I felt like I wasn't getting to the deep why or the how. It just felt like coffee+self talk = good, over and over. Again, maybe I'm not the right audience. I was just waiting for something to click with me and it never did. I also struggled with the idea of these grandiose thoughts (I am a supermodel millionaire). It felt very forced and I realistic.

Coffee Self-Talk is a helpful book about changing the narrative you say to yourself and improving your life. The book has been recommended to me several times and i am happy to have read it. And I liked it so much digitally that I bought a hard copy to do the worksheets.

A nice little daily mood boost.
The beginning was long. The summary would have sufficed.
I enjoyed reading through most of the part 2 section.

Each day, many of us start the day by firing up the coffee maker to brew our morning coffee. While we drink it, we may check email, scroll through social media, or just stare out the window. But in Coffee Self-Talk: 5 Minutes a Day to Start Living Your Magical Life, author Kristen Helmstetter suggests a way to change your life through your morning coffee break.

Great guide to implementing positive self-affirmations in your daily life. I love the concept of coffee self-talk as a way to always find time for self-encouragement. The book offers plenty of examples of positive affirmations that can be used for any situation you may find yourself in.

Great concept that’s the author has adapted to fit anyone’s lifestyle, religion etc. Bring it to the mainstream and allowing anyone to thrive from the activity. Someone all someone needs is guidebook & a foundation. This book has it all. I would recommend this to my clients to are working through self healing and past/ancestral trauma as a morning activity when they find they don’t have time/or can’t to be active in the mornings.

A book of positive affirmations to start your day. This book provided suggestions on positive self-talk and reflections as well as daily gratitude. It is book that is easy to read and provides suggestions on taking five minutes a day to boost your mood and begin living and believing in your best life. The concept and ideas resonated with me. It was a good read, albeit a little repetitive in nature.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Being a coffee lover I was instantly drawn to this book. This is a great book if you are looking for inspiration and some daily motivation. Coffee is a ritual of mine, but I did find the book a bit cheesy. The book also pointed out one that it may appear this way as well (haha). This book was rooted in psychology, habit creating, and manifesting. I don’t think I was in the right mindset to take away anything valuable from this book, but for those who are unfamiliar with psychology or want to practice self care - this is the read for you.

I think this book is a great concept and I wanted to like it but I kept struggling with it. I felt she was just repeating herself over and over and didn't really give me anything I didn't already know. The author is definitely all in and was a little too much for me. It felt like she was yelling at me do this or else.

I love coffee and positive affirmations. I drink coffee daily so the title of this book and the cover made me curious. Thanks to NetGalley for the copy to read and review!

I enjoyed the beginning of the book when the author was setting up the idea between drinking your morning coffee and combining self-talk to be read while doing so. I'm very familiar with this language so it was an easy read for me. I especially liked the sample scripts at the end of the book. They were helpful for seeing ideas on what to say to yourself while making a self-talk routine.

I am giving the book five stars because I appreciate the easy way in which the book is structured and I believe it would make a good gift for someone that desires to begin a morning routine of gaining confidence and belief in themselves.

This honestly didn't need to be a book. It's a good idea that can be summed up in a few sentences and has been a million times. The author feels very full of herself and definitely comes from a place of privilege that she's blind to. Sorry, there's nothing new or special here and it just feels like a way to make more money for the rich author.

Love the cover, title, and concept of this book, but it read as simplistic and repetitive. There needs to be some kind of niche for this that would make it stand out -- beyond that self-talk is "magical." I would love to see this with added information -- anecdotes, a spin on the idea of journaling, a collection of "magical' elements to back up the claims, inspirational art or photos... Recommended for first-time journalers or those who are brand-new to the concept of self-talk. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
