I almost like this book. I really liked it in the beginning until the stanza about praying, and the end, where everything is under god’s purview. That immediately means that this book cannot be used in story time for many librarians. It’s such a shame because it rhymes well. The pictures are great and everything about it works. Until religion is mentioned.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review—a fun board book for little ones with bright, colorful pictures and some repetitive text.
I had a lot of fun reading this book. We see all kinds of sea animals getting ready for bed. The illustrations are amazing and really help move this story along. As this tale comes to a close, the ocean creatures are off to dream land. Most kids will have a great time reading this book.
Night Night, Ocean is another great addition to the Night Night books by Amy Parker. This was a great bedtime book for my 4 and 6 year old grandchildren. It is a board book, but we read the electronic version. The text is very simple and each page, my grandchildren were able to recite the words, Night Night and whatever the animal was on the page. It was nice to see animals living in the ocean and identifying them, such as sea horses, sea turtle, sun fish, manatees and more. There is a faith based connection that God created all things, even us, but it is subtle. The illustrations take up the pages in beautiful, colorful images that allowed us to see the animals and what they were doing. A great bedtime story for kids who love animals.
What a wonderful, and special book. I read this with my little ones and we now have a favorite bedtime story. This so beautifully told of our ocean friends and how they wanted to go night night. It very specially added in how God is watching over them. That was an added blessing to the story, especially for bedtime routine and prayers. With beautiful writing and adorable illustrations you will fall in love with this adventure. I highly recommend this for any family night time routine. I can't wait to share this with friends and teachers.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a cute, short story about saying goodnight to several different animals in the ocean. It was a very simple "story", which makes sense now that I know it's a board book. It would definitely help build familiarity with different sea creatures in a young child.
The illustrations were very bright and colorful with solid lines and shading to help grab the attention of the youngest children. I don't think this is a book that I would want to read over and over again, but I imagine it is one that would be requested by littles quite a bit. Overall I give it 3.68 out of 5 stars.
Night Night Ocean by Amy Parker is a sweet book for young ones. Night Night Ocean is all about God’s Creation under the sea. It would be perfect to read in any setting. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.
That book is a great bedtime story with beautiful illustrations and the wonderful reminder that God made all creation. I received a complimentary copy from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own..
Night Night, Ocean by Amy Parker is a cute, rhyming picture book. This book has a few rhyming phrases on each page as various ocean animals say good night. There is also a good deal of repetition of certain phrases throughout the story. The illustrations are very brightly colored which will appeal to young children. The last page of the book has references to God (which may or may not be relevant depending on the population listening to/reading the book)- "Know that God, who made them wonderfully Is the God who made us all."
This is the perfect summer time bedtime story. We loved the bright colors and all the sea creatures. The writing is sweet. I'm sure this will be a favorite for many years to come. I highly recommend this children's book. Noah especially loved the colors and pictures. We grabbed one in the boardbook to hopefully last through our teething and rough years.
Night Night, Ocean by Amy Parker was the cutest little childrens book.

I loved this sweet story of a manatee saying goodnight to all the ocean creatures. I loved the illustrations and the book ending with the mention of God as Creator.
My 6 month old son LOVES Amy Parker’s Night Night series. We have several, and when I saw Ocean was coming out, we preordered it! When I saw it on NetGalley I was excited to get to help get the word out about these great children’s books.
Night Night Ocean has the beautiful illustrations we love and the sweet faith message that God has made us all wonderfully unique - like the diverse animals of the sea. My son especially liked the illustration of the shark brushing his teeth! Mommy liked the manatee learning he is wonderfully made, just like all the other creatures.
All the stars for Night Night Ocean- it’s sure to become a new favorite in our house.
I received a complementary copy of the ebook version of this story through the publisher and NetGalley. Eagerly awaiting the copy of our preordered board book. My opinions are my own and I was not asked to leave a positive review.

This new bedtime board book will take little ones on an ocean journey saying night, night to dolphins, seahorses, jellyfish and sea turtles. With magical illustrations and lilting rhymes, your child will be asleep in no time. This edition of Parker’s Night, Night series will be perfect for a summer gift and summer fun!

I first want to thank Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for this book for an honest review. This was a very sweet and beautifully illustrated children's book and I really enjoyed reading it with my daughter. Fun underwater animals and plants!
A sweet bedtime story for toddlers with adorable and bright eye-catching illustrations. So many sea creatures are embedded within the story and illustrations. It will be great to discuss with little ones while enjoying the story. Readers should note it does talk about praying/God, so if that's not your thing, you might not love it.
