Cute story overall but I felt a little disconnected from the main character, Kat. Sometimes I felt like her actions were a little out of left field and that made me not able to connect with her.
✨ PRINCEMAN REVIEW ✨
📝 Kat is tired of dating the wrong men. After getting dumped by her jerk boyfriend, she swears off men until she meets Mr. Right. She then meets Mick over a meet disaster at a funeral home. While he seems to be her typical type, she decides to date his brother. But, is this the start of another Mr. Wrong?
What I 🤍:
🌀 Meet Disaster
🦔 Adorable Animals (Hedgehog & Parrot)
🔥 Slow Burn
⚰️ Strangers to Lovers
😆 Hilarious Banter
While I was hooked onto the title and story idea, this book fell a bit flat for me. It started off strong, and then I was frustrated that Kat wouldn't communicate and give Mick a shot. Also, while the meet disaster was cute, it was a little odd to meet over a dead body.
This book would be perfect for those who love a little darker jokes (over a dead body) and meet cutes!
It was a light Romcom with endearing characters. I would recommend this to someone who wants a cute quick read. Nothing heavy just enjoyable however, not a book I will be able to stop talking about. But overall I'm happy I read it.
DNF @ 8% this book just didn't catch me the writing didn't flow as well as i would like, it seemed like more showing rather than telling and the characters didnt really speak to me
A cute, quick romcom. I read this in one sitting, it was super easy, light hearted read! I found it a slow burn and not too steamy. If you're looking for something super steamy, this might not be the one for you. If you're looking for a light and fun romcom with enjoyable characters and even better animals (a hedgehog and a swearing bird), then this is a good one to read!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Kat has just been dumped by her boyfriend and has sworn off men. While making a delivery to a funeral home, she meets Mick, a charming guy whose family owns the funeral home. Their chemistry is instant, and Kat is wondering if she gave up on men too soon. I enjoyed this book, 4 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.
Thank you so much @StMartinsPress for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 28 February 2023)
SYNOPSIS | Kat has recently been dumped (& left with his pet hedgehog) and she thinks she is having trouble finding love because she keeps going after the wrong types of guys. She makes a list of qualities that a perfect partner should have & swears off dating until she finds her Mr. Right.
WHAT I LIKED:
- the first 20% was a fun introduction to the story
- JoJo the hedgehog
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- I found myself cringing for the relationship I was supposed to be rooting for
- Kat's pursuit of Mr. Right quickly became tedious
- at the 50% we are basically going around in circles
- the third act break-up felt so abrupt
- didn't really appreciate the whole brothers love triangle thing
- another cursing and not actually funny bird...
3.5 stars, rounded up. I thought this book was a lot of fun. By this book, I mean Mick. I found Kat to be a very trope heavy version of a scorned too many times FMC. The list was a very shallow reason to consider dating brothers, of all people. Especially after she engaged with any sort of physical relationship with Mick, it felt like even more of an ick.
DNF
The writing style wasn't it for me. I had a hard time following.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read for my honest review.
I attempted to read this romance novel but could not get into it. I have decided to not finish it. Thank you for the early copy!
Too Wrong to Be Right is a friends to lovers romance. I had high hopes for this book. The cover drew me in with the cute colors and artwork, but the inside let me down.
The fmc is difficult to like, she is very insecure and always has a lame story about not being able to keep a boyfriend. Like what? This was frustrating to read because she kept dwelling on it and was such a mess. The meet cute between the pair is super cute but then Kat tries to go after Mick's brother because he is younger??? I don't even know. This book was weird. Also I'm usually somewhat a fan of the 3rd act breakup, but this one was weird. It barely made any sense but oh well. 2.5/5stars.

I really love Melonie Johnson's concepts, although her debut left a lot to be desired for me in terms of execution. I figured I would give her another chance with this book since there is always room to grow.
I should have trusted my gut.
This book begins with almost the exact same joke word for word as her book and that should have been my sign. I kept reading, but I ultimately found that what I thought was just debut author issues is really just her authorial voice. Unfortunately, it is not one that I connect with. While it is good to know that this is an author that is just not going to work for me, I do feel bad that it came at the expense of not finishing this ARC.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!
Rating: 2.5/5
Thank you to SMP for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
Too Wrong to Be Right is one I wanted to love but it ultimately fell short. While it had a unusual meet cute and had me laughing throughout. the FMC is was ultimately led this book to not be a favorite. Kat was careless with others feelings, tended to walk all over Mick and had some unrealistic expectations. Normally when we get to the third act breakup you want the couple together, I kinda could have cared less and thought he deserved better.
. When I came across this book on NetGalley, I couldn't resist the opportunity to dive into something penned by this author.. A big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I genuinely enjoyed it. Kat and Mick are both characters who feel real and relatable, grappling with uncertainties about their identities and aspirations. Kat dreams of owning her own flower shop while currently working at a florist, while Mick is employed at his family's funeral home. The story is filled with witty banter and moments of laughter, especially with the delightful animal sidekicks stealing the scene.
While the romance is a slow burn, I found myself losing interest when Kat pushed Mick away, only to become upset when he respected her wishes and backed off. Personally, I found Mick much more likable than Kat, primarily due to his maturity level and better communication skills, despite his own uncertainties.
Overall, "Too Wrong to Be Right" is a solid romantic comedy that will appeal to those seeking a fresh voice in the genre. Happy reading!
I absolutely loved the cover of this. It was so cute! The story was too much of a slow burn for me and I didn't care much for the characters, which made this hard to get into.
This is definitely going to be a classic book tok book, as others have sad! It was super cute, and I realize this is a weird word to describe a book, but I also want to say it is yummy! Definitely on the re-read list!!!

Thank you!
The cover is AMAZING and I love the slow-burn. The pet hedgehog added a great dynamic and I love the pet aspect, especially one that's just dumped on her in a breakup.
This was fun! It's definitely best for folks who are looking for something lighthearted and quick, as it doesn't pack an emotional punch, but that's not necessarily a bad thing -- if that's what you're looking for then this one's for you.
This looks like a fun, silly rom-com.
Due to time, I won’t be able to share a full review, but I’m sure it’s an enjoyable story for many!
Thanks to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a DNF for me. I couldn't get into it. I hated the characters. I really wanted to love it. Again, DNF.
