I absolutely love this cookbook and highly recommend it if you're a fan of Mary Berry or the Great British Bake Off. I have a few Mary Berry cookbooks, but this one has all the British baking recipes that I wanted to see. I haven't seen a copy of the older editions of this book so unfortunately, I can't compare them. However, if you're fan of Mary Berry and the GBBO, you will love this book. Some unique sections of the book include sheet cakes (I don't see so many of those recipes in baking books) and baking for children. I'll be picking up a copy of this book as soon as possible. Thank you to NetGalley and Clarkson Potter.

I absolutely love baking, it is not only yummy at the end but also a wonderful stress relief! With enthusiasm I picked up Mary Berry’s Baking Bible and what a delight! A broad range of savoury and sweet, complex and simple, recipes is included with lots of hints and tips.

Easy-to-follow and made with easy-to-access ingredients, I had great fun testing a number of them out for myself and for friends! They were all a hit! From my new favourite Apple and Vanilla Sheet Cake to Meringue Nests, through to potato scones and cheese straws, each one came out as it should and was delicious!

This is a reference book to be explored depending on the occasion, with elaborate celebration baking and children’s baking included too, it will take me a while to get the whole way through it but I will definitely be baking more of Mary Berry’s recipes. It’s a five out of five on the enJOYment scale and highly recommended! It would make a wonderful gift too for a baker family member or friend!

Mary Berry is a British legend for a reason, and this cookbook is a must-read for fans of the Great British Bake Off/Great British Baking Show. These classics of British baking are staples Brits will find themselves making over and over, but some of the dishes may be lost on American readers.

Expanded my baking knowledge.

After watching the “Great British Baking Show”, I had always wondered what Mary Berry’s baking style would be like. After reading this book, the knowledge Mary has is vast and awe-inspiring. With the enormous number of recipes for both special occasions and everyday meals, I did not know where to start.

When I first got the book, I was concerned that the recipes would all be in grams and use ingredients that I never worked with. I was thankful when I saw ingredients that I was used to and that I did not have to do a lot of metric conversions. I did pick up on key tips that Mary offered for baking and I hope to use them in the future.

I concentrated on one bake, Double Orange Cake. I made it for Easter Dinner and it was a hit with my husband and my Father. I myself did not enjoy it but that was only because of tasting the baking powder in the cake.

Even though I struggled with my baking, I would recommend this book to any baker as I feel they could enjoy learning about new baking techniques and recipes.

Thank you, NetGalley, Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press, and Mary Berry for this advance read.

I love the Great British Baking Show and feel that it has never been the same since Mary Berry left, so I was delighted to see that her Baking Bible was available. Mary’s recipes are spot on and a real treat for an Anglophile like myself. The recipes are clear and concise and the pictures are lovely. I recommend this book for any baking enthusiast and especially fans of British Baking.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher Clarkson Potter and Mary Berry for the chance to review this book and bake some lovely recipes.

I mean ... it's Mary Berry, y'all. :) I feel like that sums it up! LOL! What else can I (do I need) to say?

Fans of Dorie Greenspan will enjoy this--as will any fan of _Great British Baking Show_ (Great British Bake-Off?), which is to say, everyone. I love its British inspiration and approach, and find the instructions easy to follow (and ingredients easy to find, for the most part). I do think some recipes will take more practice on my part before they _begin_ to look like Mary's--but she's put in the time, unlike me!

Not every recipe had a picture, and I think that would be my one disappointment. But, there are truly worse things in life, and if that's all I can whinge about (lol), I'll take it!

I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I have a couple of Merry Berry’s books (really I mean my husband has them since he likes to bake). My husband and I have only tried a few recipes but they are really good! He prefers to measure everything to the gram instead of using cups and we have found we prefer that method better.
I can vouch for taste and that’s about it but my husband has no complaints and plans to make more recipes in the future!

Classic, elegant, sophisticated...Mary Berry.

This is the ultimate Mary Berry Baking Bible, classic, elegant, sophisticated. Refined and yet absolutely accessible, so that a beginner can tackle these bakes. With measurements in both cups and metric, lovely photos and a crisp layout, this book is a must for any baker. I have baked many of these recipes and can attest that they are foolproof and delicious.
Highly recommend.

This is a great baking bible that would be an excellent starting point for a budding cookbook collector. It has all of the classics and more, including English classics like Battenberg cake. It’s worth noting that not all of the recipes have pictures, which can be a pet peeve for some. Photos would especially come in handy for every recipe in the Special Cakes section, my favorite, as those bakes might not be familiar to everyone.

This single book will make all your baking dreams come true. Filled with all the most popular classics as well as some lesser know treats. Easy to follow instructions that are perfect for bakers of all experience levels.

If you can have only one baking book in your cookbook arsenal, let this be the one.

Note: I have already tried the Dark Indulgent Chocolate And Walnut Brownies and they are amazing! It is now my new go-to recipe for brownies.

Great recipes that are easy to follow. Several recipes are from desserts I have not had in years. Good Nostalgia value. I will be purchasing in Hardback for my cookbook collection.

A book with not only excellent recipes and gorgeous photos, this gives some good explanations for basic phrases and techniques, like tempering chocolate. The writing style is just like listening to Mary Berry explain something on TV and it gives you the confidence that you can do what she is describing. Recipes go from simple cupcakes to more complicated sachertorte, so there is something for the baker at every level and something for them to work their way up to. Instructions seem simple to understand and step by step to give a baker confidence. There is a whole chapter on meringues and soufflés, cheesecakes, breads, crackers and cookies, simple bakes for children, tarts and pastries, and lots of cakes.

This is definitely a book that will be going on my kitchen shelf full of recipes I can't wait to try!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

I love Mary Berry and I think I want to bake every single item in this book. She is the baking queen! It is beautiful, well organized, informative and extensive. I can get lost in the over 250 new and classic recipes. I definitely need to get this book in hardcover as I will be using it for years.

I want to thank NetGalley, Mary Berry and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press, Clarkson Potter for this e-ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are honest, my own and left voluntarily.

Thanks to Mary and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

The book contains an Introduction and Techniques section which I found invaluable.

It includes a list of recommended baking equipment, an explanation of baking terminology and key ingredients followed by a section on Baking Tips. As I am not a confident baker, I found this to be really helpful.
The section on traybakes will be very useful for coffee mornings and fundraisers and the Bakewell Slices look delicious. I particularly like that Mary’s instructions for decorating the traybakes is not too fussy.

Unfortunately the version of the ARC which I received was the one for the USA and some of the ingredients are different from those which we would use in the UK.
However there was more than enough information for me to know that this book will be going onto my list to Santa this year.

Thank you to Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press, Clarkson Potter and NetGalley for an electronic ARC of this cookbook.

Who isn't a fan of Mary Berry? Her way of teaching and her enthusiasm for baking shines through in her latest revised cookbook Mary Berry's Baking Bible: Revised and Updated. She breaks down recipes in an easy to understand format and the beginning is filled with tips on how to become a better baker.

Some of the items presented I was unfamiliar with as an American, but I am looking forward to trying some of them out. I was happy to see a recipe for Welsh cakes, which I enjoyed when I was in Wales on vacation. So far I have only had the chance to try one recipe, but it was delicious. The photos make everything look great and I can't wait to try out more recipes.

Given how much I love Great British Bake-off you'd think I'd have Mary Berry's entire back-catalogue of cookbooks on my shelf. Nope. This is, in fact, the first I've read.

I was fortunate to get a review copy from Net Galley for review purposes and think I'll probably get my own copy as the Net Galley copy expires very soon - the only problem with Net Galley.

Anyways, this is exactly what it says it is on the cover - a baking bible. Full of Mary's gentle, but no-nonsense advice, it feels as though she's sitting at the end of the table sipping a cup of tea (in a china cup) and guiding you through.

Covering all sorts of cakes from the sublimely simple (such as the double orange cake which my husband loved) through to sheet cakes, special cakes, celebration cakes to children's birthday cakes. There's also plenty of cookies, crackers, pies, scones, breads and pastries. I want to cook everything in this book. Everything. Well, except for the celebration cakes...I really can't be faffed with them...although you never do know, the occasion might arise...but everything else.

In fact, and I'm about to make a massive call here so drumroll please... if you're not a cookbook addict like me but you want just one book about baking on your shelf, make it this one. There, I said it.

I love Mary Berry! Her recipes are well written and just a great change from the type I normally make. My family always loves when I tell them I'm using one from one of her cookbooks.
