As the mother gazed on her sleeping baby, she wondered what he dreamed on. She hoped he dreamed big, and woke up one day doing it. With pretty illustrations to match the dream, this book is timeless and can be read for all ages. A beautiful reminder of what we can do too.
In Your Dreams by Pamela Green is a wonderful book. It is decorated with beautiful watercolor paintings and a lovely story. Wondering what your child might be thinking or dream of is truly a mother's place and we all wish for our children to grow up and be the most amazing people ever. I loved the rhyming pattern of the book; I find it helps my littles listen along better. Great story for family reading nights.
The story is a nice poem from a mother to a son. It rhymes decently well and has a nice cadence. It would be a lovely read for any age. The best illustration is on the cover, and it seems so different from the rest of the illustrations inside. The illustrations aren’t bad, but are an older style of art or less practiced style of art. Overall, the book was nice and fun, but it’s not one that’ll sit on a bookshelf at a library for 20 years.
A lullaby-like love letter to the imagination, as a mother wonders what the babe-in-arms snuggled up asleep on her lap is dreaming about. It's fine, but it's not really a book that would have seemed essential to me. To be fair, though, the visuals are strong, and the benefits and success of the rhyming narrative just about deserve four stars, but only just.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This is a story about a woman imagining what her newborn baby dreams about when he sleeps. And that really annoyed me because a baby wouldn't dream about much that is exciting as they have no life experiences to inform their dreams yet. And logical me understands that it's supposed to be fun and whimsical, but the me that was absolutely fascinated by dreams and their meanings for a solid three months in high school just couldn't see it that way. And I could have accepted the entire thing if the child was a toddler. A kid who has watched some tv and had books read to him would absolutely have the capacity to dream all these things, but not an infant.
The illustrations were soft and definitely dreamlike. They really did sell the dream scenario for me, and that might be part of why I was so annoyed to get to the end of the book and find out it was about a baby, because in the dreams, the child is older. I would not want to read this book more than once because it really did annoy me, but I'm fairly certain I'm an anomaly on that one. Overall I give this book 2.31 out of 5 stars.
This book is truly inspirational and opens a child’s imagination to dream big. My only personal preference is that everything would rhyme. Some pages did and some did not and it felt choppy. My mind wanted it all to rhyme so bad that it almost felt frustrating. (I.e. Falls and Wall) I think the concept is great though and the lesson is wonderful for young children.
This is a sweet bedtime story. The vibrant illustrations will engage a young child's interest while sparking their interest about places all over the world. While baby dreams of adventures around the world, the reader learns the most precious dreams are those of his loved ones. This is a future classic that should added to bedtime routines along with stories like Goodnight Moon and Love You Forever.
Cute little book for parents or siblings who have a little brother or sister at home. It’s an adorable idea.
Such a sweet book that is perfect for a bedtime story for the little ones.
I loved all the different places explored which can really help spark imagination in children. I also adored the dreamy illustrations throughout the story!
This was a sweet book that my kids enjoyed! They loved all the different locations and animals in the book. I wasn't the biggest fan of the illustrations, but everything else about the book was really good. Strong storyline with a sense of adventure!
A beautiful delightful book. The dreamy illustrations , both the children and myself absolutely loved and the story of the mother's love and dreams for her child emotional and touching.
I so hope this publish this beautiful book as a board book. It is so sweet, and the illustrations are beautiful. It is one of those board books that I would purchase over and over as a new baby gift,
This is a sweet little book that takes you around the world. I loved that this author decided to make the dreams a moment of learning for the readers and the map in the back of the book really tied that together.
She really couldn't have ended this story better by saying that being home and your family is just as special as those memories and is just as big of a dream.
The only critique I have is that the illustrations did not tie or flow well together. The color palette was a little all over the place and the style of illustration was a little different from page to page.
A mother's dreams about what her baby is dreaming! Sweet trip through a mother projecting her dreams for her child - exploring the world, taking risks and conquering their challenges - while he sleeps. Then realizing that for a baby their wants and dreams are all about love, comfort and peace. Great gift for a new mother!
The illustrations are so beautiful with the swirls and swoops of color.

My thoughts ~
It was a good whole hearted childrens book with great beautiful pictures. Short story kept my daughter's attention through out. Made her ask questions about adventures happening in the book. She was able to read it almost by herself (she's 7) there are some big words.
I feel like this is a great book I could read to my son as it's more of a mother son bonding book 💙
My Daughter's thoughts ~ colorful and bright loved the pictures I didnt know some of the places or things so my mom had to explain, they were cool.

Beautifully illustrated and written story. I loved the subtle coloring in all the pictures. Irrespective of the dream I felt drawn, the motion from reading to seeing was fluid.
There are a couple spots I found a little wordy, primarily the beginning; once I got over that page or two, the rhythm kicked in. The ending was beautiful and left me teared up -- coincidentally, my dream for all children.
This book has so many gifting possibilities. This is a home run.
This is a sweet book about a mother who is wondering what her sleeping baby boy is dreaming about. The text is rhyming and simple, but takes you on an adventure. The illustrations are bright and captivating. This is the perfect book for any mom to read to her little boy because every mom can relate to it!
Thank you to NetGalley and to Bird Upstairs books for an advanced readers copy.
Cute concept. I’m sure it’s something that most mothers have thought about while watching their children sleep. The illustrations were pretty, but felt it might be confusing for a child to see a baby at the beginning and end but a big kid throughout the book. It’s classified as a rhyming story but all the pages don’t necessarily have rhyme. I also felt, while a sweet attempt, the plot was a little lacking.
4 Stars
Very sweet story for parents with littles ones. A visual dreamlike book as the mom wonders what her new baby dreams when he is asleep. Is he doing daring feats and seeing the world, or in the end is he dreaming of the ones that love him.
It's really sweet with cute artsy illustrations. One con is I am not sure if it will be as engaging for kids, but it is a nice story.

This book definitely needed to be written! I imagine most new parents lose time staring at their perfect baby sleeping. I remember my heart filling so full, with my little one so full of potential. Looking back, I spent a lot of time imagining what fun adventures they may encounter throughout their lifetime.
I absolutely adored this cute picture book with traditional watercolor pages. It's so soothing for the eyes. I love the simple illustrations with a touch of whimsy. All the small details make my heart happy.
The text uses simple language and brief sentences. I'd consider the language beginner friendly. I love all the fun and exciting adventures the baby gets into. Dream big and with high hopes!
