Wow! What an absolutely stunning book. I've now pre-ordered because I need to own it!

I've followed this bakery on Instagram for a while and even travelled to purchase the infamous 'Bruce' so I was overjoyed when I saw it here.

The photography is stunning, every page was a feast for the eyes. I really can't wait for it to arrive so I can attempt to bake everything. I'm not very good, but after having the opportunity to take a look, I didn't hesitate in jumping on to purchase.

Absolutely LOVED. So many unique recipes to make and bake. One thing I had to get used to was the measurements of ingredients. Since I am US based (American), I was 100% appreciative of the equivalent measurements provided next to the metric units of measurements! You know… us Americans have to do everything different! I also especially loved the amount of recipes that were included AND in storytelling form. Often times, cookbooks are just step 1, step 2, step 3, but this felt like I was listening to a soothing step-by-step verbally to help me create a delicacy. It was a unique twist on recipe writing!

Would highly recommend for those who aren’t scared to make a little mess and dig deep into rich, decadent desserts.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to check this cookbook out - added it to my wishlist for when it publishes!

I've never heard of Rich Myers or Get Baked, the Leeds bakery he owns, so I had no expectations when I opened this cook book. Measurements are all listed by weight since this lends itself to accuracy in baking and oven temps are written both in Celsius and Fahrenheit. The book is organized into the several different recipe categories: chocolate, nuts, fruit, spice, sugar, and Bruce. Bruce is a single multilayered chocolate cake recipe but definitely deserves to be in a category of its own!

GET BAKED is full of riffs on recipes like s'mores brownies, Banoffee pie, and birthday cake. With some cookbooks I've purchased in the past, there's been quite a few out there recipes that require ingredients that I wouldn't really otherwise buy but the ones in this book are mainly familiar baking staples and feel very accessible to make. The instructions are written in a casual yet technical manner with a fun sense of humor. Excited to bake my way through this book!

This cookbook is created by Rich Myers, a self-taught baker. I enjoyed that the book was for the everyday baker. This was the first time I came across a cookbook that had weight measurements only (including water). There were a lot of innovative recipes such as grapefruit bars and strawberry limeade pie. I will definitely be making the speculoos pie, yum! Most of the photos were very appealing and appetizing, with the exception of the first brownie recipe, as they looked dry. I would have preferred for the recipe instructions to be numbered so it would be easier to read.

Cheeky and chock full of excellent recipes. A recommended purchase for collections where cookbooks are popular.

A truly indulgent cookbook for sweet treats. Easy to follow recipes with glorious mouthwatering colour photos throughout to tempt the palate. I hadn't come across Rich Myers before but if I ever find myself in Leeds I shall have to sample a Bruce, not sure I will bake one with that many layers! Quantities given in grams and imperial ounces plus oven temperatures in degrees F and C. The sprinkles remind me of my childhood when they were brightly coloured instead of insipid as were Smarties which suffered the same fate.

I can't wait to actually try the recipes to share with friends and family and shall be certainly be buying my daughter a copy of the book.

Even the photos are decadent! This book has so many delicious looking recipes! And some unusual ones. Like blueberry pancake cookies - I must say that the photo made me drool and decide that this recipe must be tried - along with nearly every recipe in the book. Don't let a child see this book because every recipe with those gorgeous sprinkles will need to be made.

I did have to look up digestive crackers (translation to American is graham crackers) although you can buy real digestive crackers in many grocery stores. The other thing that we may not have in the American kitchens is "superfine" sugar, which can be purchased in some stores, or created in your food processor.

Every recipe has been presented in grams and ounces, as well as degrees C and degrees F.

For the baker who is looking for out of the ordinary but that also appeal to everyone's eyes and taste buds.

Ive heard so many this about this iconic bakery and knew I wanted to learn more about how their sweet treats are made! I can’t turn anything down with a sprinkle and everything looks so delish and easy to make! I enjoyed this book and recipes so much!

This sensational cookbook brings you a range of the tastiest treats from the iconic GET BAKED® bakery.

GET BAKED in Leeds shot to fame during 'Sprinklegate', when its founder, Rich Myers, brilliantly capitalized on the banning of his use of US sprinkles. Rather than going quietly, Rich declared he would never use the inferior British variety and boycotted all sprinkles until he had created a UK version that does the job to his satisfaction!

Expen$ive Sprinkles has now launched and they pair perfectly with GET BAKED's bold range of desserts including cookies, brownies, cakes and pies which are all high on the taste and indulgence spectrum and definite crowd pleasers.

This book brings you 40 of those most popular creations, including Raspberry Glazed Donut Cookie, Lemon Meringue Pie, Mr Pistachio, Purple Haze, S'Mores Brownies, Campfire and Birthday Truffles, culminating in the famous ‘Bruce’, a 24 layer giant consisting of chocolate cake and ganache, that people travel far and wide to buy.

Written in Rich’s trademark style, this book offers a fun and accessible way to enjoy these unique recipes, meaning bakers of all abilities will enjoy the tasty treats and sumptuous creations from this increasingly popular brand.

Buy me a ticket to Leeds, pronto! I want to taste all the treats offered up at GET BAKED Bakery. Sadly this is not in my budget this year, so I am happy to have access to these scrumptious recipes in the GET BAKED cookbook written by the creator of these delicious delights, Rich Myers.

The first thing that drew me to this cookbook was the bright and colorful cover. Then I read in the description something about a "Sprinklegate" and I just had to know more. So thankfully I was given the chance to preview this book by NetGalley and the publisher White Lion Publishing and I will be forever grateful.

I had so much fun reading this cookbook thanks to the humor and wit of Rich Myers. Not only are you presented with page after page of easy to follow recipes, you get a little whimsy within each presentation. To top it all off, whether it be with ganache, merengue or dazzling sprinkles, each recipes is photographed in full page splendor. I wanted to lift each one up and take a bite.

From the moment I downloaded this book, I began to devour each sweet page. As I was waiting in line at school pickup, I found myself laughing at yet another funny comment from the cook. I have never been more engaged with a cookbook (a cook book for heavens sake). Next thing I knew I was searching for pen and paper, getting ready my shopping list of ingredients. Recipe after recipe left me saying "I'll start with this one". The biggest challenge with this cookbook is picking just one recipe to try. So from here on out I declare Binge Baking a thing.

Add Leeds to my travel bucket list because I cannot wait to taste these desserts in person. My thanks go out to NetGalley and White Lion Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this cookbook. I am leaving this review here voluntarily.

If you are aware of Sprinklegate then you have heard of Get Baked Bakery in the UK. If you aren't familiar then the story is Rich Myers got busted for using US made sprinkles in his baked goods that are considered illegal in the UK due to a specific dye. He was using the US sprinkles instead of the UK ones because he felt they were superior. He made several snarky posts about it on Facebook and thus Sprinklegate was born.

Well now he has written a cookbook. And his writing in the recipes are just as funny as his commentary during Sprinklegate. Probably one of the most entertaining cookbooks I have ever read. And the recipes look delicious. I'm pretty stoked to try the pink grapefruit bars, banoffee pie, and strawberry limeade pie to name just a few. There is a beautifully photographed picture of each recipe that will make you wish the book came with samples.

I'm gonna have a few problems to solve though before I attempt a recipe. I'm gonna have to figure out what digestive biscuits are as well as a few other ingredients (caster sugar I'm looking at you).
I'm not sure we have these in the US. And every single ingredient is listed by weight. I rarely feel like even measuring my flour by weight...I don't want to be weighing my eggs. But the desserts look so yummy that maybe I'm ready to try weighing all my ingredients like a professional.

This book just made me hungry from start to finish! Not only are there some great recipes but the instructions are quite funny throughout!

I've compiled a list of my favourite recipes and the first that really stood out to me were

cinnamon toaster pastries, I just cant get enough of anything cinnamon and these were something I haven't seen before!
Also the raspberry glazed donut cookies look fantastic!

I also liked that there were basics like properly whipped cream and homemade caramel, these things seem like common sense to many but is great for anyone new to baking.

and omg the Bruce! That is the most fantastic looking Chocolate cake I have ever seen I may need an excuse soon to give it a go!

Can't wait to try some of these recipes!

Tons of fun in this book - interesting and unusual sorts of recipes and an entertaining tone. Will I try to make a Bruce? I just don't know but it is oh so tempting!

This book is so tempting! I found myself drawn to the delicious looking deserts and bakes and struggling with what to make first! This is a culinary drool-worthy collection of sweet things divided in sections 'chocolate', 'nuts', 'fruit', 'spice', 'sugar' and (curiously!) 'Bruce'.

The usual suspects are all there: chocolate brownies, truffles etc, but SO much more! "Mr pistachio pie' for example, looks simply divine. I loved making the Italian meringue, and following the recipe to the letter did indeed produce fantastic results.

The only thing I would improve on this utter perfection would be that the 2 stunning looking cakes at the end (and the truffles that can be made from the dregs of these) have measurements for making them smaller for the domestic baker, though maybe these are best reserved for larger gatherings!

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A fun cookbook with lots of great recipes to try. Of course, the title will bring people in as it is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I plan to try some of the recipes.

Cakes, baking, sweets, YUM!

I always love a good baking book and this one is a fun book that I enjoyed read and drooling over the yummy photos. So colourful and fun, this is a book that will make you smile. Especially if you like brownies! How many ways can you make brownies. Love it.

With chapters on Chocolate, Nuts, Fruit, Spice, Sugar you can't go wrong. The recipes are easy enough for anyone and the instructions are easy to follow. I will be working my way through as I have already worked out which recipes I want to try first.

Must say I love 'Bruce' but doubt I would give that one a go.

Great, fun and tasty cookbook. YUM!

I wasn't familiar with Myers, sprinklegate, or Get Baked before this book. It's a beautiful book!

This book has great photos and a variety of desserts. It's very ambitious - this is not a baking book for beginners. The recipes are listed in ounces and grams so American bakers may struggle a bit and the instructions are helpful, but written in a way that's a bit dense and assumes that the reader is familiar with baking. The desserts themselves are over the top and unique. The book shares recipes for super layered cakes, cookies, and more.

Overall an interesting find.

I follow the author on Instagram and this book screams him and his “brand” on every single page. I absolutely love the jokes, the subtle (and not-so-subtle) sarcasm throughout the book. Generally, recipe books just make me want to quickly flip through to get to the recipe I want, but in this case, I had a lot of fun reading the descriptions.
And oh my, the photos are stunning. The recipes are easy to follow, and I can’t wait to slowly bake my way through this book.
