A really nice read! Very informative and an interesting way to learn about Greek myths and gods. It’s very easy to read, I think many people how are into mythology (both children and adults) will enjoy it.
It’s both character and plot driven. You can see how the characters learn from their mistakes and how that helps them grow. But also how those mistakes effects the plot and the overall story, which makes this a good read..
I also really loved the art style of this book - I’m a sucker for anything that is in the same style as adventure time to be honest!
Loved it, it's a fresh and modern take on the greek mythology. It's perfect for both children and adults. Great illustrations and simple way to explain myths
I got this book to read with my daughter, who is of early reading stage. We had to r ad it together, but she really enjoyed the illustrations and the overall story. The reading level was perfect for the suggested age and really made for an exciting and fun book. I highly recommend for young readers.
What a clever, accessible introduction to Greek mythology for young readers. This retelling doesn't exactly have the complexity that another version may have but I know for certain that it piqued my little readers' curiosity, and was officially the gateway to a full blown mythology fascination. We'd absolutely love another edition of this for other myths. Thank you to Netgalley and Capstone Press for the advance review copy. All opinions are my own.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book, lastly, but not less important, to his author too.

Pandora's box, explain how Zeus and greek mythology gave to humans that box, how it really was, from the titans to the god leader, Zeus. Besides, it tells us the story about pandora and her life.
I really liked how it works as contemporary graphic novel, but telling as a historic book.
Plus, the story was enjoyable and while reading it i was not sleepy, so a plus there.
4.5
I had a great time reading this graphic novel. We hear this story from Pandora’s perspective, and some modern twists are thrown in there. The story begins before she is born, and tells the story of two brothers. When one steals something, Zeus decides to punish all of mankind for it. One day, Pandora is created and is given a mysterious box. For many years, she avoids opening it. Yet one day she goes against her better judgement, and lots of bad things end up happening. Some kids will have a lot of fun reading this graphic novel.
I found this graphic novel to be a little disappointing. I enjoyed the illustrations, but as a far of Greek Mythology, I found this one to be lack luster.
Good way to introduce kids (8-12) to Greek mythology, art style was cute. It was a little funny in places. All a round a good short read.
Rating: 3 ⭐️
This was made in such an accessible way for kids to be introduced to mythology. I absolutely adored the art style and I really want to read more just like it. I would definitely highly recommend this graphic novel!
I received this ARC thanks to Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
A really fun way to learn about mythology. The hashtags were a cute touch to keep things relevant for children
Learning via graphic novels is always fun and a good way for children to perhaps garner new interest.
A short graphic novel that introduces Pandora and her place in the world of Greek Gods. Can be read in one sitting and the dialog is geared to 9-12 year old children with its humor and reading level. Perfect for an introduction into one of the many Greek myths and the gods and goddesses.
Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone Press for the ARC of this title.
I love that there are Mythology books simplifying those stories for kids. This might be an entry point into Pandora's story for some, though an extremely short one.
But I found the writing terrible. I'm not the target audience, so take this with a grain of salt. But to me the language used felt like someone middle-aged trying very hard to sound like a cool kid, with lots of hashtags, "bro", and eyerolls. It sounded already dated, and I'm not sure if kids will find it funny or roll their eyes too. Do they even use hashtags at 7?
The artwork was very cute though, and that's the most appealing point.
I loved reading books and comics about mythology while I was growing up, so I still like to revisit younger retellings from time to time to see what’s out there for kids nowadays, While I understand that most of these myths are often simplified and toned down when retold like this to kids (I do still read PJO after all!), I feel like the best retellings are the ones that still manage to largely keep the spirit of the myth itself, just told in a way that’s more palatable for younger kids. Unfortunately, even keeping in mind this comic’s audience, this just didn’t work for me. I can get behind using modern slang and trends to tell stories, but it felt like this book was relying on that too much, and didn’t have much else beyond it for the myth to really hold on to. It also just felt overly simple (I did try to keep in mind this being aimed for kids, but still), and I feel like every aspect was touched on so shallowly that a real impression of the myth wasn’t really left behind. Overall, while I like the concept, the execution here didn’t work out for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc!!
This book is very clearly aimed at little kids, however, I feel that the language is still far too simplistic even for the target audience. I understand the author/s is trying to reach the new generation but the overexcessive use of modern internet slang does not work applied to this story, it warps the meaning of many important details which bothered me greatly.
Thank you NetGalley and Capstone Press for a copy of Pandora's Box!
"No one holds a grudge like Zeus, king of the gods. So when Prometheus steals fire to give to humans, Zeus is determined to get revenge. He sends Pandora—the first mortal woman—to Earth with a box labeled DO NOT OPEN. Can Pandora keep her curiosity under control? Learn the story behind this classic Greek myth in a modern, graphic retelling."
Amazing artwork and an easy storyline for younger readers to follow! I hope Capstone Press releases a series of mythological retellings like this!
Pandora's box was a fun and hilarious way to learn details of ancient greek myths and legends, Some of the modern-day adaptations were a little outrageous such as the hashtags and selfies, but I think that could possibly support younger students in engaging with the material.
I like to read Greek mythological stories. This book with great illustrations about the pandora's box was a fun, quick and entertaining read.

🏺Learn about the popular Greek Myth of Pandora and her mysterious box. A humorous, introductory level graphic novel perfect for curious minds.
🏺Who knew learning could be so funny?! Filled with sarcastic quips from the characters, and an overall Zeus hate-fest, this story is written perfectly for young readers. A children’s nonfiction book is well done when readers of all ages can read the book and learn something.
Gave a very brief overview of the story of Pandora and other Greek Gods/Titans. I liked the drawing style but the book for me tried a bit too hard to relate to kids with all of the hashtags and slang. But overall it did give a good way to tell the story.
I really enjoyed Pandora's Box! I think it's a perfect book for all the kids who love Greek Mythology and want to explore more about the topic! Perfect to next step from Percy Jackson!
