My child has recently discovered mythology. She is a curious little one and she wants to know everything there is regarding the subject matters she gets into at any given time. and now, it is mythology. I was excited to see that there is a Pandora’s Box book and a graphic novel as an added bonus.
And the book did not disappoint! A classic tale with a modern and quirky twist. Who would have thought that calling Epi #napgod (yes, using the hashtag) would be such a hit? At least, it was a huge hit over here.
And now my child is bugging me that we should get more books like this one, all the books about anything and everything mythology related and made as quirky graphic novels.
And now, time for my opinion: This. Book. Is. Genius. The people who created this book have the brightest and the most creative minds out there. The book is so well made, with all the text and drawings and the way it is presented. Love, absolute love. I will be keeping an eye out for when this book is actually published and then I will be telling everyone about it, yelling from the rooftops about it. This book is it. This is how mythology should be presented to young and curious minds who prefer to be entertained and educated at the same time.

A really fun and interesting depitcion of the classic tale, and very accessible for the modern audience! I thought it was a very good book and I loved the art and colour scheme. I didn’t know the whole story of Pandora’s box, so this book taught me quite a lot. Would recommend!

Thank you, Capstone Press, for the advance reading copy.

This is a fun and short retelling based on Pandora’s box as the title tells!

I find the dialogues funny and the illustrations totally hilarious!

Do we get the story behind the box and how Pandora gets to live with the humans?

Yes, we do. But it’s really short I would say.

Have a fun time with the short fun graphic novel.

This series should become a staple in school libraries.

Akin to Horrible Histories, this has the potential to be a leading resource for young children to become interested in Greek mythology. The art and stories are adorable and age-appropriate, and I kinda wish I had kids to give this to.

Really enjoyed this. A retelling of the story of humanity, that began with the opening of Pandora’s Jar in the time of the Olympians, as the old gods receded and Zeus came into power. The portrayal was very much of our time, utilising contemporary vernacular and nods to the digital era. The story was perfectly targeted to the int need audience, and I really enjoyed the illustrations too!

As a myth loving child, I would have really loved this growing up. It has modern elements of #hastags, and some slang, but otherwise stays true to the basic myth most mythology buffs are familiar with. I loved at the end it had other versions of the myth as well, because I personally have heard different versions but it wasn’t until much later in life and after some digging around.

Any kid into mythology would probably enjoy this!

I would have loved this book as a child, especially when I was in my Greek Mythology phase. It does a great job of succinctly telling a long and not-so-child friendly story, in a way that can capture the interest of today's children quickly. There's fun modern aspects to it and great/funny illustrations.
