I am very much a fan of silly murder mystery movies, so it is no surprise that I very much enjoyed this book. Fans of the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery or Murder on the Nile will enjoy this.

You enter the story meeting Ruth, and older lady who is a consultant of all things food/hospitality management. She is quirky and old, and seems like she would be an amazing Grandma to have. She was previously employed as a police officer, so it makes sense that she has the skills to be the main view of this story. It doesn't take long for us to meet the rest of the cast of characters, you have the colonel, the lawyer, the computer programmer, the influencer, and a model. They are described heavily in the first few pages. Which tracks with the silly murder mystery genre, but may not be everyone's cup of tea.

The storytelling is compelling, and confusing as you stumble along with Ruth trying to piece together what the heck is going on. I absolutely LOVED her cat, and the fact that she sneaked it on board the ship. Top tier Grandma thing to do.

This story definitely made my mind think as I tried to keep up with Ruth as she tried to keep track of all the moving pieces.

This whodunit story was a fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone as long as they enjoy it with a huge mug of tea and five scoops of sugar.

Could not stop reading this mystery! It had suspence, a cruise ship, quirky characters……and a cat. Nice having a mature female solving the case. Will definitely be looking for the next books in this series. Thanks to #NetGalley and #MurderOnTheOceanOdyssey for advanced digital copy.

I couldn't put this book down! Ruth was a very likeable main character, and I was constantly worrying with her. I loved the way the story progressed. It was slow enough that you didn't think anything was being rushed, but it also didn't drag on. The ending was a perfect wrap up. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect 5-stars is because I didn't like that the other characters attributes and characteristics were dumped on us in the first beginning of the novel. I find that it's hard for me to remember what everyone looks like if it's all dumped in one go instead of describing the characters as the story progresses and as Ruth interacts with them.

Anyone that's a fan of mysteries and even true crime will enjoy reading this book!

Ruth Morgan is a food consultant. She has been invited to the Ocean Odyssey cruise ship to apparently consult on their menus. after leaving the port the captain is murdered. Ruth and only five passengers awaken to find that they are alone on the ship.

Who has created this situation? Why? And can they survive the cruise? It's cozy mystery with murder adn you are sure to have fun reading it! #Oakridge
