This was a cute read, very fun if a little forgettable. I loved the characters' stories and the focus on her individual journey. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

I couldn’t make it through this one. The premise had potential—a disgraced influencer forced to start over in a rugged national park—but the execution fell flat. Cat Cranwell, the main character, is meant to be charming and witty, but mostly comes off as shallow and out of touch. Her “transformation” feels forced, rushed, and built on cliché rather than any real emotional depth.
The setting shift from Manhattan to Montana was supposed to be refreshing, but it read more like a string of fish-out-of-water gags than anything meaningful. The romance with Zaiah had zero spark, dragged by the tired opposites-attract trope, and his disdain for all things social media felt cartoonish. Their chemistry didn’t build so much as get awkwardly forced into the story.
Add in one-dimensional side characters and a plot that relies too heavily on predictable beats, and there wasn’t much left to stay invested in. Even the humor didn’t land—it felt more like trying too hard than actually funny. Sweet or not, the story just didn’t have the depth or originality to hold my attention.

Great book and easy read! I enjoyed how the author didn't get too into detail when explaining, but also enough detail to let your own imagination work throughout the book. Very cute plot and clean cut ending to a nice palette cleansing book.

Cat is a social media influencers with millions of followers, but when a deal goes wrong and she loses followers and some of her fame, her uncle hires her to come work with him in Montana at a national park.
She quickly realizes her luxury life won’t be a thing here and starts to see the world outside of just social media, when she meets Zaiah, the rugged ranger.
It was a cute story, but also handled some deeper themes.
The narrator was great and would recommend as an audiobook.

Cat & Zaiah are polar opposites so when she gets dropped into his world it is quite the wake up call. I really wanted to love this book but I had trouble connecting with the characters. The characters met.... went on their own journeys but there wasn't enough meat on this book to feel like I really got to know them. Cat learns what is important to her in life but I felt like Zaiah was an afterthought.

I really liked the setting of the book and all the nature in Montana. It has a city girl and nature guy combo but adds in a slight variation with her being an “influencer”. Lush natured scenery, landscapes, mountains and snow!
There were definitely some sweet moments, and the romance was fine; not super stand out but not bad. I liked that the MCC did not judge the FMC for her profession or stereotype her.
This book just made me want to read it in Montana.
Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for the honest review.

I really enjoyed this one. Thank you, NetGalley for sharing this with me. I'll definitely be looking forward to reading more.

This book is pitched as a romance but honestly it’s more of a contemporary fiction with a sprinkle of romance-not that I found that to be a bad thing at all! Cat Cranwell is a social media influencer who gets cancelled after a partnership goes wrong and ends up in a lawsuit. Her Ron Swanson-esque Uncle Terry is a ranger at a national park in Montana. Wanting to help his niece in distress, he offers her a position. Her, having no idea what to do, accepts it.
She clearly has no idea what this Jon actually entails or exactly how far removed she would be from her NYC life. It’s giving Alexis from Shitts Creek Vibes, but add a national park in the background. The national park needs helping ramping up their social media and with her background, they think she will be the perfect person to help.
Zaiah, the love interest, is a grumpy and guarded ranger. He hates social media and cell phones in general, and initially judges Cat. Just like aa hallmark movie, however, he starts to fall for her. I highly recommend going into this book with an open mind. Does Cat come off as shallow? Yes, but she’s a social media starlet. She is exactly who I would expect her to be.
Is the attraction between her and Zaiah unlikely? Also yes. But sometimes that’s the beauty of fiction. It works out because it is suppose to work out, and that’s what makes it an escape. I found the audiobook easy to listen to, entertaining and overall such a fun read!

This was such a fun opposites-attract romance between a disgraced influencer who escapes to rural Montana to lick her wounds and finds a new appreciation for the beauty of the natural, disconnected world. I liked the characters a lot and the setting!
Cat was an especially relatable character as someone who posts a lot on IG. Her struggle to find balance and the dangers of getting too obsessed with followers and likes really came across in this book, particularly in light of what happened to Zaiah's ex.
Great on audio narrated by Talon David and recommended for fans of books like Chick Magnet by Emma Barry or the upcoming debut You, with a View by Jessica Joyce. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for early digital and audio copies in exchange for my honest review!

When influencer Cat Cranwell needs to flee because of an app gone wrong she finds solace in a national park in0 Montana and boy is she out of place. Through this novel she struggles without the luxuries that she has come to know. She also falls for her complete opposite Zaiah who hates all social media. This is a coming of age story, opposites attract small amount of romance. The audiobook was very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this one. The charcters were fun, especially the side characters. I probably would have been fine if it had just been about the side characters and their antics. However, I loved the national park angle and that the influencer ended up using her platform for good.

"Famous for a Living" is a novel that follows the journey of Cat Cranwell, a social media influencer who loses her millions of followers and is shunned by the influencer community after a failed app partnership. To escape her troubles, she accepts a job offer from her uncle Terry and starts working at a small national park in Montana.
Despite her initial reluctance to live a simple life, Cat eventually learns to enjoy her time at the park and finds purpose in trying to save it from its impending closure. Along the way, she meets Zaiah Hudson, a rugged and handsome park ranger who helps her appreciate the beauty of nature and shows her that there is more to life than social media.
While there is some romance in the book, it is not the main focus, which is why I find it weird that it's categorized as a romance, I think it should be classified as a chick-lit or just as a contemporary novel. Instead, the story revolves around Cat's personal growth and realization that being plugged into her phone 24/7 is not the key to happiness. The novel also touches on the dangers of social media and the importance of being aware of one's surroundings.
Overall, "Famous for a Living" is an enjoyable and thought-provoking read that offers some wit, charm, and relevant insights into modern-day life.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for providing me with an early, free copy of this book.

I loved the narrators Talon David and Thomas Nelson were phenomenal. I love their intonation and the way they really got into the characters. The plot, however was lacking for me. I loved her previous three books and was so excited for this one but it just fell short. I can't even put my finger on exactly what it was that made it so. It was just okay for me. I will still read her books and recommend her previous books, just unfortunately not this one.

It was every typical city girl meets small town boy trope. There is nothing for to say. I hoped to have more but there was nothing

The story is familiar - fancy, big city, influencer loses everything and gets out of the city and realizes that followers aren't really that important after all. I could picture the pretty mountain setting so clearly. I think the author does a good job of writing a small town and the great people you can find there. I loved all the side characters and how they all helped each other out.

Cat Cranwell started off very self-absorbed and not very likable. She was addicted to her phone and social media. In a way, this is how a lot of us live our lives now. Through an unfortunate event, she goes to live with her uncle in Montana. She falls in love with the scenery, the people, and the slow-pace of living. This wasn't my favorite story, but I did find myself relating to Cat in some ways. I found the characters likable and I looked forward to what was going to happen next. Thank you to NetGalley, Melissa Ferguson, and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio for allowing me to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Famous influencer Cat finds herself in the spotlight for a crazy misunderstanding. She finds herself going from her penthouse as a lifestyle, fashion influencer to living close with her uncle in the middle of no where.
This is a great fish out of water story with a city girl finding her place and possibly love in a country world. This book almost felt like a small town romance because the small parks and rec team had some really funny moments all together and everyone was really involved in each others life. I will say I did not really love the main character as much as I wish I did but I felt she was a. little un-relatable. That being said I did like the dynamic of the other characters and I do love a good opposites attract so I overall really enjoyed the story.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an outdoorsy romance. Thank you NetGalley for an opportunity to read this story.

Such a cute read!! This read is more of a personal journey for the main character, Cat, than it is a romance. The romance between Cat and Zaiah is definitely a part of Cat's journey, but not the focus. I listened to the audiobook while reading along with the ebook, and the narrator was perfect for Cat's voice. I was drawn in right from the start and just couldn't stop. Gave me all the feels!!
*Thank you so much @thomasnelson for the #gifted egalley and audiobook in exchange for an honest review.*

The cover is beautifully done and the narration was perfection. I will definitely be listening to more audiobooks by this author.

I really enjoyed Meet Me in the Margins. Unfortunately, this book wasn’t for me. I didn’t like the characters, and it’s not what you think. Some of my favorite books have characters that I loathe. That’s the issue, lack of character development led to me not caring really. Also why include it in the romance category at all? Platonic BFFs have more appeal honestly.
