Description
She’s Insta-famous. He uses a flip phone.
When her business partner is accused of serious financial crimes, superstar influencer Cat Cranwell—an engineered marvel of beauty, energy, and fun—falls from her penthouse perch. Desperate to get away from the online trolls and paparazzi documenting her disgrace, Cat accepts her uncle’s offer to work with him in Kannery National Park, Montana. About as far as possible from life as she’s known it.
Cat’s world shifts from the swirling haze of likes and comments to literal blizzards of frostbite temperatures and waist-deep snow. In place of negotiating brand deals, she finds herself negotiating at the ledge of a frozen lake with her die-hard Polar Bear Plunge coworkers. Instead of padding through the marble kitchen of her Manhattan loft, she’s sharing a tent-sized cabin with a roommate eager to bond like characters in sitcoms. But something curious is also happening in this overwhelming breath of fresh air as she reacquaints with the most honest parts of herself and begins to ask the hard questions. Can Cat love herself with, and without, the world watching?
Then there’s that other tiny problem—she’s falling for Zaiah, the ruggedly handsome park ranger—and he hates anything remotely connected to social media, quite possibly her included.
Written with bestselling author Melissa Ferguson’s signature wit and charm, this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy of opposites attract is full of hilarious romp and a romance that will melt readers’ hearts.

"Ferguson (Meet Me in the Margins) illuminates the value of true friends and true love in this wholesome rom-com . . . Ferguson makes a convincing and heartfelt case for how opposites attract, and a host of endearing supporting characters--especially Cat's uncle Terry, her bestie Serena, and her quirky roommate, Mina--add charm. For readers who like their romance on the sweet side, this will hit the spot."- Publishers Weekly
"This small-town opposites-attract romantic comedy features likable, relatable protagonists and a plethora of delightful secondary characters. Cat and Zaiah are well drawn, with just enough backstory to show their motivations. The city-versus-country theme is well executed, and the storyline is paced well. VERDICT Ferguson's (Meet Me in the Margins) chaste, heartfelt, hilarious novel is perfect for fans of Sophie Cousens and Jen DeLuca."- Library Journal

Honestly, this book was great. It was well-written. The characters felt like real people with real struggles. Even the side-characters felt thought out.
The narrator did exceptionally, as well. Truly one of my favorite reads of this year from a list of almost 20. Thank you for the chance to read it early!
This book was a good read. I loved every single character. It had the right amount of humor. The plot was interesting. Somrthing about books in national parks are always good. And this was it. I cant wait to read more from this author. I need this in paperback now.
I received this book for free from netgalley for an honest review.
So sweet and a real page turner. The character development between the two main characters was very good. The setting was perfect.
Cat Cranwell has the perfect Insta-life… until she’s accused of fraud. The lovable influencer heads to Montana to lay low. She has a lot of run ins with park ranger Zaiah, and tons of funny times with her adorable roommate Meena.
I loved the mix of trying to have a “slow life”, but the desire to document everything, all the time.
Not sexy, rather incredibly sweet.
Excellent narration.
I honestly was disappointed when it was over! This was the perfect mixture of sweet and plot that it kept me fully engaged. I absolutely loved the story like and the lessons Kat learns along the way. I also adore the work friends and think they should have their own book!
Given society's addiction to social media and all things influencer, this is a very timely and super fun read/listen. It's a cute, feel good love story that highlights both the toxic and positive sides of social media. The characters are fun and memorable. If you're looking for a fast and fun book - this is it!
I really really loved this book! It's the perfect mix of cute and funny, while still touching on some pretty tough topics.
The story is about Cat, a 30-year-old influencer, who discovers the hard way that one should not sign contracts without submitting it to the lawyers first. (But I mean, even my beloved Rose Calloway Cobalt was tricked the same way, so Cat should be blamed anyways)
Her friend Selena and her uncle Terry encourage her to take some time away from the city, so she moves to work for her uncle in Kannery National Park.
There she founds a group of people that slowly become her family, and of course, Zaiah, the broody ranger.
I really enjoyed Cat's growth, it really goes to show that working on one's self is a lifelong work in progress and even the most successful people need some time to just step back and reflect. I also related lots and lots with her struggle to always be what is expected of her, and especially her self-sabotaging cycle of putting thoughts in other's people heads, which, in reality, is just her insecurities reflecting on others.
What kind of feel short for me, is the romance aspect. Cat and Zaiah, while having lots of interactions and much tension, don't go on a date until the 75% mark of the book, which is late for my standards. And they get together for real only in the last chapter before the epilogue.
Also, it is important to note that there's no spice, not even a little bit.
The writing is impeccable, funny and kept me entertained throughout the whole book. The characters are well described and I truly hope for more books set in this world, I need to read about Selena and Mina and Kevin falling in love!
All and all it satisfied my need for an "It Happened One Summer" type book.
OBSESSED. I loved this book so much. There was genuinely not a single thing about this book that didnt like. I loved every character and how they all interact as well as the setting and story. This is definitely a book i will be recommending to people and i really hope this book gets the hype it deserves!
I couldn't stop listening!
Content creator Cat Cranwell is quite simply "famous for a living". On the night of her birthday, she is hosting a party and a product launch in her NYC penthouse. She is on top of the world - until she isn't.
After her business partner lands both of them in serious trouble, the court of public opinion decides Cat is guilty too. Needing to escape, she goes to Cannery National Park to work with her Uncle Terry. Uncle Terry is the head ranger at Cannery National Park in Montana. Cat thinks he is just being kind by giving her a place to hide until she learns that her social media campaign is the last chance the park has. As Cat and her zany coworkers band together to save the park, Cat finds herself falling for Zaiah. Zaiah is a ruggedly handsome, gruff, and kind park ranger. Just one problem - he hates the city and social media and that is her element. And Montana is just temporary...
I loved the characters in this book. One of my favorite relationships in the book was Cat and Mena and how they both helped each other grow. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!
I genuinely do not know how anyone doesn't LOVE this story. No, it isn't a typical romance full of angst but it is so much better!
Famous for a Living follows THE Cat Cranwell. The brands love her, her followers love her and she has pretty much everything she could want. That is before a hasty deal with some, unknown to her, back dealings brings it all crashing down. Now no one will touch her and she faces a HUGE lawsuit. In an attempt to find herself and ride out the lawsuit she takes a job with her uncle to be in charge of social media for the park he works for. Cat finds herself and also love on the journey. It's really beautiful and touches also on just how stuck in our phones a lot of us are without even realizing. I laughed, cheered and cried along Cat's journey.
Talon David's narration really brings this story to life. I highly recommend giving this book a read when it releases in just a few weeks, on May 16th. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to listen to this story in advance.

I love Melissa Ferguson! She writes cute, fun, clean romance books that always have a great message. This one is definitely one of my favorites of her books. The romance was cute and sweet but the message of phone and social media addiction is something’s that’s not talked about enough. Talon David narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job, as she always does. She just added to my overall enjoyment of the book. I highly recommend this, and all of Melissa’s books!
Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this audiobook!
Hands down, this is my favorite Melissa Ferguson book! Social Media influencer, Cat Cranwell, stumbles when she partners with the wrong company and she needs to go low for a while. She ends up working in a small national park where she learns to not live on her phone all the time but puts those social media skills to work for the park. The side characters are entertaining especially her happy-go-lucky roommate! The book feels like a happy hallmark movie and I couldn’t stop smiling. If you’re looking for a quick read (or listen), you can’t go wrong with Famous for a Living.
I listened to the audiobook when I was doing things around the house and when I had some downtime, I read the book interchangeably.
I am not really an audiobook fan mostly because for some reason the narrator’s voices always bother me. Especially when it’s a female doing a male voice and vice versa. I was pleasantly surprised that this narrator’s voice wasn’t annoying to me at all. I thought she did a great job.
This was a fun, sweet Hallmark-esque story about Cat Cranwell, a very famous social media influencer trying to escape from a partnership gone wrong by working with her uncle at Kannery National Park in Montana.
I love all the national parks, so I was intrigued by that, the social media plot point, and because it was published by a Christian publisher.
It’s not a Christian-themed book or plot, so if you don’t necessarily want that but do want a clean book without bad language or any spicy romance scenes, this is a good book to try out.
I wouldn’t really consider it a rom-com like it’s labeled, but more of Cat’s journey in realizing that there’s more to life than social media, being on your phone, and the dangers that come with being extremely absorbed in online life/presence than a romance or rom-com. It was a book with a little romance, but not a book where romance was the main feature. It was definitely endearing and the people were interesting and funny, but rom-com…maybe not.
This would also be a great book if you enjoy small-town plotlines (which I’m always a sucker for). The little Instagram posts at the beginning of each chapter were cute and a nice touch.
I enjoyed all of the characters. They each brought something great to the story. I’d have loved to see a little more with Uncle Terry and maybe a little more background for Cat and Zaiah both, but nothing to make me take down my rating.
While Cat was super famous and pretty rich, she wasn’t shallow or stuck up. She was open to the experiences and people she met at the park, she was willing to grow as a person. I really appreciated that.
Overall, I enjoyed it a lot!
If you want a clean read with a small-town feel in a national park, personal growth, and a touch of romance, you might like this one!
Famous for a Living comes out May 16th, but you can preorder it on Amazon now!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson, and Melissa Ferguson for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This was such a fun fiction book. I loved how the story just wasnt mainly focussed on romance but also on the personal growth of the FMC.
I listened to the audio book while doing other stuff and could follow the storyline perfectly.
The cover really drew me into listening to the book, it’s so pretty!
The narrator was also very nice to listen to.
Really recommend this one!
I got the privilege to read / listen this new book! And it was lovely!
I really liked how there’s opposite lifestyles and how its written - good descriptions but not that either or are better. And how funny this is, laughing out loud so many times 😄
My favorite seen was the photo moose seen, which made myself to think all those times when I’ve encountered with moose’s in my life - country girl in heart!
All the characters were so well written and it was so easy to get to Montana mountains.
"Famous for a Living" by Melissa Ferguson is a heartwarming and hilarious romantic comedy that will leave readers laughing and swooning. The story follows social media star Cat Cranwell, who finds herself in a tough spot after a partnership with an app goes wrong and she loses her following. In an effort to start anew, Cat accepts a job as the social media strategist at Kannery National Park in Montana. Her goal is to save the park from being absorbed into Glacier National Park by boosting visitor numbers, but she quickly learns that not everyone at the park is a fan of social media.
Ferguson's writing is witty and charming, and her characters are lovable and relatable. Cat's journey of self-discovery and finding true love in the unlikeliest of places is a joy to follow. Her interactions with Zaiah Hudson, the handsome and rugged park ranger who initially dislikes social media, are both hilarious and heartwarming. The story also tackles important themes of the impact of social media and the importance of nature conservation.
Overall, "Famous for a Living" is a delightful read that will leave readers with a smile on their face. It's perfect for fans of romantic comedies and anyone looking for a light and entertaining read.
I love a romance novel that doesn't feel like every other romance novel. That can be a tall order, as romances are generally predictable. However, Melissa Ferguson's "Famous for a Living" was so wonderfully fun and different I found myself completely absorbed in the characters and the story throughout. I will definitely be picking up more of Melissa Ferguson's work - I enjoyed every minute of it!
I really enjoyed “Famous for a Living” by Melissa Ferguson as an audiobook. The narrator really brought the opposites attracts characters to life. This was a fun, sweet, light listen, perfect for summer!
Thank you, Netgalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Needing to get out of the spotlight after a huge scandal breaks, influencer Cat flees to her uncles haven in the mountains. There she meets a wide range of characters, a possible love match, and a place that her heart feels safe. After being absorbed in her own world and phone for so long, she is ripped from that world and introduced to Zaiah’s world of flip phones and flannel. She finds herself falling quickly, not only for Zaiah, but for the mountain town and her new friends. It was so sweet.
We get to see the deep side of Zaiah and the why of his actions. We get to see a new side of Cat as she opens up and leaps into love. Overall so well done! Audiobook was perfect!
This book was delightful.
The shift from the poised and curated life and the rugged raw existence is so real
I loved everything about this book.
You even fall in love with (most) of the background characters.
A perfect summer beach read
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, from start to finish. The character development was excellent, from the main character Cat to intern Jax. The setting is second to none and I loved how complete the story felt, all the loose strings were tied up prettily. My only critique is I wish we could have had more chapters to explore some of the storylines that were wrapped up quickly, like addiction to technology.
The narration was superb. Talon David did such a great job with the voices and emoting, it really added layers to the story that made the listening experience especially enjoyable.
#book42of2023 Famous For a Living by Melissa Ferguson She does it again… I haven’t read a book by Melissa that I haven’t liked and this one is no different. Coming out May 16th of this year, and you will not want to miss out on this book. Cat Cranwell is scammed and her millions of followers are not too keen to forgive because the scam cost them money. Cast aside and sentenced to endure a onslaught of comments that are not nice, she is offered a position at a small national park her uncle runs in Montana USA. Used to concrete and skyscrapers, the snowy park is not what Cat is used to and it’s now her job to save it from being absorbed into Glacier National Park. Zaiah is her uncles right hand man and nothing like Cat is used to. His rugged good looks might just win her over. He is not one to love the social media scene and is not easily convinced that it’s what the park needs to generate the crowds needed to save them all. I really loved the message in this book regarding social media and the amount of time spent on phones. I really enjoyed the story as well as each of the characters. Such a joy to read. #kristalreads
Thank you so so so much to #netgalley and to #ThomasNelson for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adored this story! I couldn’t stop reading. I think this is the author’s best work so far. Such a wonderful message too.
“With her millions of followers, Cat Cranwell is adored around the world. But when an app partnership goes very, very wrong, Cat suddenly finds herself shunned from the community that not only fed her soul all these years but paid her bills. When Cat’s closest living relative, Uncle Terry, offers her a position on his staff at a small national park in Montana to get away from the city, Cat hesitantly accepts the opportunity.”
The characters in this novel were so endearing! I adored all of them! Especially Uncle Terry! I thought plot was well written. It had great pacing and kept me entertained the whole time. This is a perfect summer read!
Grab the book and go catch some sun, because this book is the perfect company to be outdoors with.
I appreciated every moment I pressed play, was really relaxing and calm to listen to.
The book was so beautiful and so well put together. The characters were amazing and I enjoyed them so much, with all of what their personalities brings to the book.
The main character was real, resembling a lot of people now a days.
And I loved the romantic interest. I saw the differences, but there were connections between them, and I could feel the love and the caring side they have for each other.
Their love came slowly by the pages and was so adorable.
And to top all of that, the book covers a important topic, the technology. Shows the benefits and the addiction it brings. With also showing some small changes we can do or create.
I really did enjoyed the book. And recommend a lot the audiobook for it.
I was shocked when I received this arc! I loved this book and I love Fergusons writing. I can never get enough. the plot the suspense, the characters,,,I always wanted more in the best way. highly recommend for the summer.
Literally, every person who has a smart phone and/or social medua shoud read this book!! So many powerful truths and messages!!
I was instantly drawn into Cat's world. As an influencer myself I totally understood the lifestyle of always having my phone in my hand. I was thrilled that it all upended for her! And she handled it like a BOSS!
Oh, and Zaiah. What a perfect male character if there ever was one! I loved him from the airport and all the way through to the end. He was swoonworthy every step of the way.
The other park rangers, that quirky and charming Mina, Zaiah's mom, Cat's uncle Terry and best friend Serena were all very well thought out and they filled in all the pores of Cat's life. I did not want this story to end! I loved the audiobook version, and am a huge fan of Talon David's narrating!
Thank you Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Audio and NetGalley for the audiobook.
The protagonist Influencer Cat is having a hard time after her business partner gets her into trouble. So she is advised to spend some time in Montana with her uncle Terry while the scandal settles down. Uncle Terry is the head ranger at Kannery National Park and as distraction he provides Cat with a job as content creator for park’s social media. Soon Cat understands that park needs some help in attracting more customers otherwise her beloved uncle and her new friends (and possible love interest) will lose their jobs.
This was a wonderful book that raised various important and prescient topics: the role and impact of social media in our lives, friendship and support. I didn’t want this book the end as I felt connection with characters and wanted to keep following their journey. I really hope there will be more books following their lives and stories of these characters.
The narrator Talon David did an amazing job giving with not only his voices, but expressing the characters’ emotions as well.
Review: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5
Famous For A Living checks all of my boxes for a feel-good book, with its slow to grow romance, beautiful natural setting, wit, and lessons learned. I simply loved this book, with its shift of setting leading to personal growth for the female lead. Narrator Talon David brings vocal perfection to the story, with superb versatility to capture each of the cast of characters' personalities and uniqueness.
Cat Cranwell is at the peak of fame as an influencer based in New York City, surrounded by cameras, influential people, famous brands, and continuously attached to her phone. Scandal suddenly erupts when her business partner is accused of crime. She heads to the most unlikely of settings for a break, the isolated yet stunning Kannery National Park in Montana. Her new circle of people, Park Ranger Zaiah, her uncle Terry, and tiny-cabin roommate, Mina, have quite different priorities and lifestyles.
Scene after scene unfolded amid adventure, splendid scenery, and introspection as Cat gains fresh perspectives on her values and goals. I was all in for Cat's story, told with Ferguson's engaging style of writing and David's exceptional narration.
Thank you Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for an advance listener's copy of this audiobook. My review is my own.
I loved this audiobook. It was a cute story but also had important messages behind it. All the characters were so easy to love and relate to. My favorite parts were the loyalty and friendship between women and just everything Zaiah. The subtleness of his masculinity mixed with his kindness and attention was a joy to listen to. There were fun, quirky secondary characters that were a blast and made for a lot of laughs as well. I would highly recommend listening to/reading this book.

This book. Where do I start?? It was laugh out loud funny. It was adorable and touching. I absolutely loved the grumpy/Sunshine dynamic even though that isn't normally my go-to trope. It worked so perfectly. I loved the nature elements and the growth of the main character, Cat. In all honesty, it made me consider how much I am on my own phone as well, when I should be spending focused time with my family.
This book was such a delight; one of my favorite rom-coms of the year so far. I'm ready to go find and read all of Ferguson's other books!
Let me also add, the narrator was fantastic. She definitely helped make the book even better.

If you know me, you know I love a good spicy book, so for this book to be a slow-burning story with just kisses and STILL be 5 stars? It has to be good!
This book definitely gave off PG Schitt's Creek vibes and had me dying of laughter the whole time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the narrator did a STELLAR job!
I also highly recommend Melissa's other books
Meet Me in the Margins (an all-time favorite of mine)
The Cul-de-Sac War
The Dating Charade
She has others, and although I haven't read them (yet), I'm sure they are just as good!
Thank you, Thomas Nelson, Melissa Ferguson, and Zondervan Audio, for the ARC of this in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This was such a dreamy and fantastic romance. I have a deep love of the outdoors and National Parks in general so for me this book felt like a big hug with all of my favorite things involved.
We have city slicker learning to appreciate the outdoors. We have tough bearded mountain men who are big softies. We have finding love in unexpected places. We have true character growth. We have women supporting women unconditionally. Truly, what isn’t there to like about this?
This was an incredibly fun and empowering read! One of the best I’ve read this year—and written with such heart and care, hitting really significant issues of today—social media addiction, distracted driving, the true cost of putting our lives online for everyone to see.
Cat, a disgraced social media influencer, moves to Montana while her life falls apart around her to take a temporary job at the national park her uncle runs. There, she meets Zaiah, a total hottie park ranger and legit mountain man—who absolutely despises social media and modern tech.
Going in, I was expecting a romance where they’re heavy on romance (thanks mountain air), and light on substance. This book was a complete 180 from that—in the best possible way. Told from Cat’s perspective, this focused significantly on her own process to heal herself, recognize her addiction, find herself outside of the likes and comments, and create a life she WANTS to live. Yes, there’s a hint of romance, but I can’t even give it a spicy rating.
I loved the growth we saw in Cat, and her ability to do the right thing even when it’s not the most pleasant thing. She truly grows into an independent, self-reliant woman, and finds that she had it in her all along.
My favorite scene in the book was the horse/ski race. Listening to the audio was like listening to a play-by-play of Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals when a first overtime is about to end. I was cheering out loud at one point!
Overall, a great contemporary women’s fiction read that I’d recommend to anyone.

📚 Thoughts/Reflections:
✨I absolutely loved and adored this book! I was admittedly rather hesitant during the first chapter which gives readers an in depth look at Cat Cranwell’s life as an influencer. To say it’s difficult for me to relate to people who are using me to promote their own name/brand/product/platform would be a gross understatement! As I continued to read, however, it was apparent how much that attention and lack of genuine connection with others upset Cat especially when most of those people bailed on her when she needed them most.
✨One of the things I greatly enjoyed about this novel was the growth and discovery Cat experienced once removed from the things she thought she was supposed to care about - social media, likes, notifications, her looks and outward appearance, other people’s opinions. What I was able to connect with was her desire to do better and to be better; to ditch those who couldn’t be counted on during her darkest times; and to unearth her true self and no longer compromise for the sake of others. It was a huge added bonus that a rugged hunk named Zaiah was able to go on that journey of self-discovery with Cat.
✨While labeled a romance, I feel this novel is so much more than that and I hope readers who aren’t normally drawn to romance don’t pass this amazing novel by! By the end of the novel, I found myself reflecting over my own connection with technology and was reminded to put it down to enjoy the here and now a little more often.
📚Synopsis
✨Cat Cranwell is at the top of her game as a social media influencer until a bad partnership backfires causing her followers and “friends” to turn their back on her. Down on her luck and facing a potential multi-million dollar lawsuit, she is trying to figure out what to do next. While trying to keep a low profile and not speak to many people, she is happy when her Uncle Terry reaches out to check on her. Living in a national park in Montana, Uncle Terry suggests she take a break from it all and offers her both a place to live and a place to work. From New York influencer to Montana national park employee, the adventure begins and I was delighted to be along for the ride!
*I am a huge fan of audiobooks and the narrator did an incredible job bringing this novel to life!
✨Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson, and Melissa Ferguson for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. The book and audiobook are currently available - go check them out!
I love a good romance book and this did not disappoint. Well developed, characters, witty banter, what more can you ask for?
This book just made me happy.
I guess I need to say more so what I like about this book for me is that there is no spice, that it made me laugh out loud, that it had an entertaining group of secondary characters (whether they were the rich and famous or the junior ranger variety), and that it had a sweet romance.
I think that my favorite part is that this book had characters in which life wasn’t always perfect but they made it perfect for them.
The main character, Cat, is a New York Instagram influencer that becomes down on her luck and has goes to work for her Uncle Terry. (The beginning of each chapter has a very fun IG post.)
She becomes the social media director for a very tiny Kannery National Park in Montana.
Cat lives a real different life in Montana. She tries some new activities like the Polar Bear Plunge and even participates in the 10th Annual Skijoring Race (go look that one up). There is also a ranger named Zaiah who is very different and yet also quite similar to Cat.
I enjoyed the energy of this book and honestly everything Melissa writes.
Very enjoyable read. Will be easy to recommend to many different kinds of readers. I’d like to read more from this author.
Meet Me in the Margins was one of my favorite books of 2022, and I was excited to get the chance to listen to Melissa Ferguson's latest novel, 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈. I am delighted to say that I absolutely loved it! Once again, Melissa knocked it out of the park! This storyline was so unique and had me hooked from the very beginning. It had me rooting for Cat, Zaiah, Kannery Park, and the sweet cast of characters. The characters are all so charming and lovable. I loved the opposites attract trope, and Cat and Zaiah embodied it perfectly! Cat is the epitome of social media queen, even though she has fallen from grace. Zaiah is her opposite. He is as anti-technology as it gets with his flip phone and a zero-tolerance policy for anything viral. The overuse of cell phones and social media throughout the plot rang true to life. Without being overbearing, it was an excellent eye-opener to how much time we waste scrolling through social media. It highlighted the real-life consequences of cancel culture and how social media can negatively affect our lives. The message was perfectly wrapped up in a hilarious romantic comedy with laugh-out-loud moments and a sweet, feel-good romance. And the ending…Oh, so perfect! I highly recommend this book to my romance-loving friends!
🎧️Talon David's narration was fantastic and really made the story come alive! This audiobook is an absolute gem! It's definitely worth a listen, and I recommend it.
Thank you, @netgalley and Thomas Nelson, for the opportunity to listen to an ALC of this awesome book!
Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson is a great book. I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook and I really enjoyed it. The narrator was fantastic. The story follows Cat, an influencer on social media. When her entire world collapses and she loses all credibility and becomes the subject of a lawsuit worth millions of dollars, due to her partner's lies, she isn't sure how she will survive. Who is she if she isn't Cat Cromwell? Enter her uncle Terry, who brings her out to his wildlife park to be their social media guru. She discovers that being surrounded by mountains and jumping into polar bear temperature water is actually not as bad as it seems. And she discovers that she may have a thing for a certain bearded mountain man named Zaiah. But, Zaiah absolutely hates anything to do with technology or social media. So that looks like it's a draw....or is it? Told with wit and fun and some sweet moments, you won't want to miss this one. Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley.
I really loved this story! Cat is such a sweetheart who is trying to overcome a professional & personal setback at her uncles nature preserve. I really felt for her as she tries to figure out what she’s good at besides social media, acknowledging that’s the only world she’s known professionally & people need to know that doesn’t make her less of a person. She is so connected to that influencer life & what people think of her, while also trying so hard to overcome that & be present in her life.
She & Zaiah are a sweet opposites attract couple! they have a slow burn of a romance story, but develop a lovely, sweet friendship along the way that makes the perfect foundation to their relationship. the romance was def on the sidelines in this story, but it didn’t brother me too much at all because there was so much character development going on.
not to mention the sweet, loveable side characters! I loved absolutely everyone in this book. they are all unique & lovely in their own rights, Nina especially was my favorite! she is so unendingly sweet & kind, making a best friend in Cat immediately, helping her feel welcome in this new environment.
I also absolutely loved the setting— I am obsessed with nature in all its glory! the whole outdoor setting—the plants, animals, water— was described so beautifully it made me long to go there myself :)
overall, very sweet, lovable, fun story! thank you for the ARC!!!
This book was absolutely adorable. The romance was a major slow burn, but I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and the different places. The imagery described in this book sounded gorgeous and really makes me want to go to Montana and visit the park. I loved seeing the change in certain people in the book once they were taken out of their elements and placed in different ones. People always say you can’t take the city out of a person, but I feel this is untrue and it is perfectly depicted in this book. People can change. It is okay to still want certain things in life, but you can live in two different worlds and still find joy in both.

BRIEF REVIEW
I enjoyed this one! It was a cute, clean romance with a good overarching theme of change. I liked both MCs. The book has a Hallmark feel to it (as most clean rom-coms do). I wish we would have gotten a bit more of a backstory of Cat's childhood; we get a little bit, but I wanted more elucidation. Melissa Ferguson has a cute and witty way of writing that came through well in the audiobook. The epilogue was 🥰

Review
If you’re looking for a cozy and sweet getaway look no further : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
📚I adore the setting of this book and all the lovable characters warm my heart. Mountain waterfalls, hot springs, nature, and true friendship take centre stage in this sweet escape. Overall message of this book is perfect. With society as a whole preoccupied with our phones Melissa Ferguson gives a much needed reminder of the damage social media can cause. I just love stories with a good message. Besides the message I enjoyed the FMC’s developmental journey and the sweet romance she finds in Kannery Park. Can’t wait to listen to more books by this author!
🎧The audiobook production was well done and the narrator did a great job. She was perfect for the role in my opinion!

Such a cute romance, grumpy vs happy, big city vs country living. This book is such a good slow burn romance and the audio just added to the wonderful story. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great summer romance to read.
Being an influencer is walking a tight rope, and Cat Cranwell finds out the hard way when her influencer career is blown apart. She takes her uncles offer to come to Montana to the small national park where he works as a Ranger and become the social media manager for the park.
I really enjoyed this sweetromcom. I like reading about influencers and their lives. The story mainly focuses on Cat and how she is figuring out what's important in life. She was likeable from beginning but she got swept up by fame and missed the bits of living. Like living in the moment and not concerned with every like or follow. I think the author captured perfectly the social media positive and negative side. Zaiah was such a sweetheart although he hated social media he didn't judge Cat.
The setting it sounds like a fairytale. Rustic cabins, snowy mountains and fun local winter festivals!!
All in all it was a funny, low drama, romcom book!
A refreshing, funny, and lighthearted slow-burn romance. You won’t find any spice here, but it’s all good because this wholesome story gives you all the warm fuzzy feelings. All the characters were unique and likable in their own way. The FMC had excellent well-paced character development. I’d highly recommend this audiobook!
Melissa Ferguson is one of my very favorite authors. When I heard this book announced I was so excited to get my hands on it. As always, she tells a very compelling story with characters that you really want to root for their success. The audiobook version of this story was easy and enjoyable to listen to and I would definitely recommend it to others.
I absolutely enjoyed this one, it follows the ups and downs of Cat Cranwell who is Insta famous but when things come crashing down after a dodgy collaboration. She decides to lay low and when her uncle offers her a position in National Park she swaps her penthouse for a cabin in the woods.
This is a fun bingeable read, full of witty banter and a setting that I’d happily swap a penthouse for.
If you haven’t read any of Melissa Ferguson’s novels I can highly recommend them.
I love this story — another winner from Melissa Ferguson, however, I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator of this book!
This book is pitched as a romance but honestly it’s more of a contemporary fiction with a sprinkle of romance-not that I found that to be a bad thing at all! Cat Cranwell is a social media influencer who gets cancelled after a partnership goes wrong and ends up in a lawsuit. Her Ron Swanson-esque Uncle Terry is a ranger at a national park in Montana. Wanting to help his niece in distress, he offers her a position. Her, having no idea what to do, accepts it.
She clearly has no idea what this Jon actually entails or exactly how far removed she would be from her NYC life. It’s giving Alexis from Shitts Creek Vibes, but add a national park in the background. The national park needs helping ramping up their social media and with her background, they think she will be the perfect person to help.
Zaiah, the love interest, is a grumpy and guarded ranger. He hates social media and cell phones in general, and initially judges Cat. Just like aa hallmark movie, however, he starts to fall for her. I highly recommend going into this book with an open mind. Does Cat come off as shallow? Yes, but she’s a social media starlet. She is exactly who I would expect her to be.
Is the attraction between her and Zaiah unlikely? Also yes. But sometimes that’s the beauty of fiction. It works out because it is suppose to work out, and that’s what makes it an escape. I found the audiobook easy to listen to, entertaining and overall such a fun read!
