Very enjoyable read. Will be easy to recommend to many different kinds of readers. I’d like to read more from this author.

From Park Avenue to the Parks Department—the world’s most beloved social media star is about to get a rude awakening. When Cat's socialite image comes to a hault when a brand deal goes awry, she goes to her uncles outdoor survival place to help get them more views. She goes from everything being at her feet, rich lunches and homes, to just small hometown people and life. Of course, there is a man, but will they fall in love bc she is social and he just keeps to himself? I recommend this book to anyone who likes a rom-com where you are rooting for the main character to find out who she really is.

While I enjoyed the overall message that this story Although the message of the story was good, I found myself getting bored and losing track. Melissa Ferguson had some interesting ideas, but as a reader, I would appreciate something more engaging. 2.5/5

I listened to the audiobook and the narration was enjoyable. Easy enough to listen to on a drive or in the background while doing housework.
Very cheesy but still fun and enjoyable.
Initially I did not like Kat at all. She was whiney and annoying and self centered. She also seemed a little dumb and naive when she first arrived at the national park, considering her father figure had spent his life there. With that being said she grew on me and while she didn't fully form into a character with tons of depth I didn't hate her as much. She had some redeeming qualities.
Zeke was just ok to me as well. I actually thought the secondary characters really made the book, like Mina the roommates, the uncle etc.

This book just made me happy.
I guess I need to say more so what I like about this book for me is that there is no spice, that it made me laugh out loud, that it had an entertaining group of secondary characters (whether they were the rich and famous or the junior ranger variety), and that it had a sweet romance.
I think that my favorite part is that this book had characters in which life wasn’t always perfect but they made it perfect for them.
The main character, Cat, is a New York Instagram influencer that becomes down on her luck and has goes to work for her Uncle Terry. (The beginning of each chapter has a very fun IG post.)
She becomes the social media director for a very tiny Kannery National Park in Montana.
Cat lives a real different life in Montana. She tries some new activities like the Polar Bear Plunge and even participates in the 10th Annual Skijoring Race (go look that one up). There is also a ranger named Zaiah who is very different and yet also quite similar to Cat.
I enjoyed the energy of this book and honestly everything Melissa writes.

There was a lot to love about this book , and a little to be annoying with. The main character is a social media influencer who's life falls apart. Then she goes to escape it all with her ranger uncle. There happens to be an attractive ranger who seems a bit judgmental. I have to admit the first few pages of the book didn't impress me. But I did enjoy most of the book. It was a fun, escape read - very "Hallmark" movie. I think I will recommend it to my teenage daughter. It had a good lesson in the end about the hold social media has over people's lives.

I enjoyed the progression of the characters and the story. The message of living life in person and not just online. I liked how the FMC worked on her issues. This was a 1/5 for spice.

I struggle reading books with characters that have a "famous", social media influencer, or celebrity storyline to them, but after seeing the adorable cover, I decided to give this a listen.
FAMOUS FOR A LIVING centers around Cat Cranwell, a social media influencer with millions of followers, who finds herself cancelled after an app partnership goes wrong, causing her to lose her followers. To help, her Uncle Terry offers her a job working at a National Park in Montana.
Thank you Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the gifted audio for review

This was a cute little chick lit, contemporary, small town, summer read. As soon as I saw the cover I knew I wanted to read it
Ferguson does a great job developing Cats character and making her go from something to nothing and building herself up again.
While there is some romance in this novel, it is very minimal and very clean romance. The narrator in the audio version that I listened to was good. Will recommend to anyone for a summer read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a very standard "fish out of water" story where Cat goes to work for her uncle at a National Park after a scandal disrupts her life in New York as an influencer. She meets Zaiah, a hot small town park ranger, and very light romance ensues.
This was not as spicy as I would have hoped and I found Cat super judgmental and her rant about the wolves in the forrest was so odd and off-putting. I guess it was supposed to be comedy but it did not work.
I would try another book by this author but this one was very standard and not a slam dunk for me. I kind of don't think these two would ever even get together in a world where there were other hot options available.

Cat is a social influencer whose life is turned upside down when she is betrayed by her partner. Thankfully for Cat her uncle runs a national park in Montana and she can escape to rebuild her life to the beauty of nature. However, she soon learns that the national park is not as peaceful or boring as one might think, especially when her uncle's assistant is against the craze of social media and is very attractive. This is a clean modern chick lit romance that is a pleasant escape for the summer time. It is perfectly predictable just the way you want these reads and of course a happy ending is always the way you want it to wrap up. The narrator does a great job and the romance is a slow build as well as the self discovery of the main character. It's stigma of social media may irk some but if you want a sweet, fun, clean modern romance than this might be for you! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an audiobook copy for a honest review.

I thought this story was cute and fun. There wasn't a whole lot about it that was unique to other romance novels, but I still enjoyed listening to the story unfold and the main character develop into a person you like and are rooting for. I didn't love all the social media integration, which is funnily enough the whole premise of the book, but i just found that aspect a bit annoying. This is probably because i truly don't understand the life of an influencer or the constant thought that must go in to having a public life. But i felt like that aspect was easy enough to ignore for the most part and it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book overall.

“With Zaiah beside me, I know I won’t fail.”
Oh, this was so cute! I loved the scenery of the National Park - a media influencer being out in the wilderness is a trope I’ve never read before, and enjoyed it a lot!
Cat Cranwell is famous for a living, literally. She has thousands of instagram followers that flock to her curated, perfect life. She can’t post anything that she doesn’t deem flawless and is seriously vain. She doesn’t have many friends besides her manager, as her career takes a huge hit.
She moves to Montana to Kannery National Park to help her uncle and the staff by becoming their social media guru while the paparazzi dies down back home in New York. At the beginning, Cat is absolutely lost in her new environment. She’s used to living in a Penthouse, and now she’s relegated to a one bedroom cabin with a roommate. But, she learns quickly that online fame isn’t everything.
Cat meets so many kind people at Kannery, and falls in love with the very manly and adventurous park ranger, Zaiah Smith. They couldn’t be more different, but it works. And holy crap, it’s cute. Although… it was a very tame romance. So, if you’re into more steamy scenes - like I am - this one might not be the one you’re looking for.
All in all, this is a story about Cat finding her tribe, learning to be in the moment, and falling in love with not only a hot mountain man, but herself too.
I really loved the commentary on social media, and how nothing is truly what it seems. And oh how I wish there was a moose on the cover instead of a deer!!! If you know, you know.
The audiobook narrator was absolutely amazing, the perfect fit for this book. She exudes the animated Cat so well!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher who provided me with an audiobook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All of these thoughts and opinions are my own.

After her business partner is accused of serious financial crimes, influencer Cat Cranwell needs somewhere to lay low. She accepts her uncle’s offer to work with him at Kannery National Park, Montana - about as off the grid as you can get. What she didn’t expect was to fall for Zaiah, the ruggedly handsome park ranger who hates everything related to social media - quite possibly, her included.
I loved the characters in the park office and the beautiful setting of this book! I especially loved the older adult characters(as I tend to!).
The journey of saving the park from being absorbed by the more popular park in the area was heartwarming - their efforts were like a love letter to nature, and helped Cat become more comfortable in the wilderness and away from the internet.
I appreciated how this book dealt with the addiction to being connected at all times, and letting go of the constant need to check your phone in favour of seeing the world around you. I didn’t love that Zaiah’s reasons for hating phones and social media was what changed Cat’s perspective so quickly, because I think she was getting there on her own.
Overall, this was pretty enjoyable!

I loved this one! I'm a fan of Melissa's Meet Me in the Margins, so I knew I wanted to give this one a try! I think I actually liked this one more! And having the audio made it so much easier to finish quickly! As someone who has a disability, sometimes reading physical books makes my hands ache, so having this was a blessing! 'So thank you to NetGalley for providing this audiobook for review!
As for the book, I definitely would give this 4.5 stars! I can't give it 5 because I reserve that for the books that I just obsess over, but this one is right up there! I loved the found family aspect of this story, and the setting being in the national park was such a fun addition that I hadn't read about before! Highly recommend this one!

Famous for a Living is a book that talks about the struggles of self-discovery and social media. I think it's a great book if you are reading it for those things. It being a romance is sort of not right, there isn't much romance. Zaiah Hudson is my favourite character in this book. He isn't a fan of social media and may also be a rugged handsome man. Cat Cranwell is a social media influence and was forced to leave her life to work with her Uncle Terry at a small national park in Montana. She struggles with coming to terms that her life has changed and that she is hated by everyone that once loved her.
I personally did not love this book that much. I thought it would be very different, but it was definitely worth a read just for the topic of social media.
I listened to the book through NetGalley ARC, The narration was great.

This was a really fun and cute romance, I throughly enjoyed this! This book gave It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey with no spice and set in the winter. Cat is an influencer, when she gets in a huge scandal she escapes to her uncle’s in a small town where she meets Zaiah.
I LOVED Zaiah!! This man liked every single one of her Instagram pictures (she’s an influencer, so that’s a lot). I was so obsessed with him and them. He had me kicking my feet in the air squealing. He was EVERYTHING to me!
I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrator did a great job. The plot of this book was fun, I loved it.
Overall, this was a really great read. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend!

Famous for a Living is a light-hearted novel that I would read on a nice day at the beach or relaxing in my backyard. It was entertaining and had many parts I smirked at but while I would probably label it as a contemporary romance, it was more about the main female character's personal development than heavy on the romance. To be honest, if you're looking for a lot of heat in your romance, I would look elsewhere.
Cat is essentially a famous social media influencer, whose social media revolved world gets rocked when her business partner is accused of financial crimes. In an attempt to lay low and hide from the social media fallout that followed, she takes her Uncle's offer to work at a small national park in Montana. The story follows her adventure in Montana and the people she meets there.
This story reminds me of a Hallmark film in all the best ways. The typical city girl is thrown into the great outdoors and finds out more about herself with a dash of romance. There were some aspects of Cat that seemed cliche and weren't that relatable to me but I did enjoy the story. The romance in the book was very prim and proper, for lack of better words, but didn't really start to show up until well after halfway through the book. That being said, it was a nice light read that leaves you feeling good at the end.
I listened to the audio version of this book and the narrator's voice is pleasing to the ear. I thought she did a great job of having distinct voices for each character. Overall, I was very pleased with her performance.
I received this audiobook ARC via NetGalley in exchange for this honest review.

Famous for a living was my first book by this author. This was such a cute, quick read. I am a sucker for a city girl meets country/rugged guy though I loved that this book was more about self discovery than anything.
I typically like a little more spice in my romance but this one didn't bother me because that was the sole focus of the book, My only complaint is that it actually could have been a bit longer!

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for a honest review from netGalley.
This book was ok. I was surprised by how easily she was taken in and made the bad guy for her enfluncer ways. I also didn't really care if they got together or not. I was glad I finished it as I felt it had a good message in the end but I don't know if I'll search out books by this author.,
