Thank you @uplitreads, @librofm, and @thomasnelson for my gifted copies! This was such a fun read! I really enjoyed the narration!⁣

Cat Cranwell’s whole life falls apart when a partnership goes wrong. Her uncle invites her to come work with him and manage the social media for their small national park in Montana, a far cry from her typical Manhattan. Their staff is small but very enthusiastic about their work and it was interesting to see Cat learn more about the park and her band of colleagues. I loved the enemies to friends with Zaiah. This is definitely a closed door book, but the chemistry between Cat and Zaiah was so palpable for me. I liked how Zaiah helped to change Cat’s perspective on social media usage. It definitely made me think. I also enjoyed the descriptions of the park and its beauty! It made me wish it was real and I could visit!⁣

I can’t wait to read more from Melissa Ferguson!

This was more of a self discovery/self growth than a fun little rom com, which is what I thought it was going to be. .
With that being said this one was just ok for me. I enjoyed the audiobook, but it isn't one that is going to stick with me,

After facing a devastating downfall caused by her business partner's alleged financial crimes, Cat Cranwell, a renowned influencer admired for her beauty, vivacity, and charisma, finds herself tumbling from her privileged penthouse existence. Seeking solace from the relentless online trolls and invasive paparazzi who delight in capturing her disgrace, Cat seizes the opportunity to start afresh by accepting her uncle's proposal to join him in the tranquil haven of Kannery National Park, nestled deep in the heart of Montana. It's a drastic departure from everything she has ever known.

I had both the audio and the physical book for this one. It was a little too trendy for me. I also didn't care for the voices - they were too affected and not believable. The plot idea was interesting and the book was entertaining.

Famous For A Living is a charming rom-com that has a social media influencer seeking refuge from her life and accepts a job from her uncle at a national park in Montana. Of course her love interest is a rugged mountain man and thinks social media is a big problem in today's world. The opposites-attract romance is heartwarming and believable though there wasn't much romance to it - the true heart of the book with Cat experiencing such character growth and finding herself was lovely to read (more women's fiction than romance). I look forward to reading more by Melissa Ferguson! Audio narration was excellent also.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for this ALC

Title: A Hilarious Romp with Heart: Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5 stars)

Famous for a Living by Melissa Ferguson is a delightful romantic comedy that takes readers on a journey from the glitz and glamour of social media stardom to the untamed beauty of a national park in Montana. With its witty writing, charming characters, and heartwarming romance, this novel is sure to leave readers with a smile on their faces.

The story follows Cat Cranwell, a social media influencer whose life takes an unexpected turn when a partnership goes awry, leaving her ostracized from the community she once thrived in. Seeking refuge, she reluctantly accepts a job offer from her uncle at Kannery National Park, where her task is to boost visitor numbers and prevent its absorption into Glacier National Park. However, her arrival is met with resistance, particularly from the rugged and opinionated ranger, Zaiah Hudson, who believes social media is to blame for society's problems.

Melissa Ferguson's writing style is a standout feature of this novel. Her witty and humorous prose keeps the story light and entertaining, making it a joy to read. The dialogue is sharp, filled with clever banter, and perfectly captures the chemistry between Cat and Zaiah. Ferguson has a talent for crafting characters that feel authentic and relatable, and she skillfully develops their arcs throughout the book.

The romance between Cat and Zaiah is undeniably charming. Their opposite personalities create a delightful dynamic, with Cat's outgoing and vivacious nature clashing with Zaiah's ruggedness and skepticism. Their interactions are filled with sparks, tension, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. As they navigate their differences and discover common ground, their relationship blossoms in a way that feels genuine and satisfying.

Beyond the romance, Famous for a Living also explores deeper themes such as the impact of social media on society, the importance of nature and preservation, and the need for human connection in a digital age. While these themes are touched upon, some readers might wish for a deeper exploration and more thought-provoking moments.

One of the highlights of this novel is the vivid setting. Melissa Ferguson's descriptions bring the beauty and majesty of the national park to life, immersing readers in the breathtaking landscapes of Montana. The park becomes almost a character itself, serving as a backdrop for both the romance and the characters' personal growth.

In conclusion, Famous for a Living is a delightful romantic comedy that offers a perfect blend of humor, heart, and charming characters. Melissa Ferguson's witty writing and well-crafted romance make for an enjoyable read, while the exploration of social media's impact adds depth to the story. Fans of lighthearted romance novels will find this book to be a delightful escape into a world of laughter and love.

This was such a dreamy and fantastic romance. I have a deep love of the outdoors and National Parks in general so for me this book felt like a big hug with all of my favorite things involved.

We have city slicker learning to appreciate the outdoors. We have tough bearded mountain men who are big softies. We have finding love in unexpected places. We have true character growth. We have women supporting women unconditionally. Truly, what isn’t there to like about this?

Didn’t love this one. I honestly hated the social media bashing and lack of romance. If the subjects were flipped and the romance was the main part and social media issues a side plot I think I would have enjoyed it more. But this one was a no for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and Melissa Ferguson for providing me with a free audiobook in return for an honest review.

Cat Cranwell is a popular influencer who shares her lifestyle with her millions of followers. She started posting her life online when she was a mere teenager but this has moved her out to New York and allows her to live in a safe and secure penthouse. When a collaboration goes terribly wrong, she makes the decision to stay with her uncle, Terry, in Montana working as the social media manager for Kannery National Park. Her goal is to boost the park's social media platforms and get the park more visitors all before going back to her life in the city.

This book was extremely light hearted and fluffy. I feel like there wasn't much of a romance aspect to this book but more of finding one's self. It was quite enjoyable and I enjoyed every second that I listened to this audiobook. I do have a few issues with the characters though. The male love interest was dry. Dessert type of dry. I feel like the author tried to go for a grumpy type of character but ended up with a grouch. The rest I enjoyed! Even though some of the chapters were long, I listened to this audiobook while cooking or doing work and I didn't see the seconds go by.

I would absolutely love if this became a series! I vote for Mina's book to be next and would really enjoy Kevin and Jack's as well because this would make such a cute little found family series.

This was okay. Some parts were better than others, but I really felt that it was all over the place. The ending seemed rushed just for the sake of ending, and it was probably the best part of the book. Narration was okay, but I wasn't really a fan of her "dude voice." I found it to be a little distracting. Overall, I didn't hate it, and it helped pass the time while working, but I'm not sure I will read more from this author.

Thank you Thomas Nelson for the gifted advanced listening copy!

Cat Cranwell has spent her life curating the perfect image. As a social media influencer, she's always plugged in. That is, until her business partner makes a shady deal, forcing Cat off the grid and into Kannery National Park in Montana, to work alongside her Uncle Terry. Suddenly, Cat is thrust into nature, life outside the screen and Zaiah Smith, a charismatic park ranger who seems to regularly come to Cat's rescue. Cat is forced to decide what is truly going to influence her life.

This book was like 75% coming-of-age fiction and 25% romance. When there was romance, it was sweet, clean and enjoyable to read. I much more enjoyed Cat's growth as a person and exploration into the true meaning of life. Melissa Ferguson dove into mental health, self esteem and self worth in this book, and I really enjoyed her approach to Cat's character development. There were some lulls towards the middle but, for the most part, this was a quick and easy read. Overall, this was a cute story but if you're looking for a classic romance, don't expect it here.

I loved Meet Me In The Margins so had high hopes for Famous For a Living. From the first few chapters I knew Ferguson had done it again, I ended up binging the book. Having grown up in a small town I loved the vibes the book was giving off. An opposites attract romance with an enjoyable plot, interesting characters and a found family aspect. I really enjoyed the self discovery element and how relevant the social media life as opposed to real life was the focus of the novel. I did feel like the romance part was a slow burn romance although there was tension, banter but read more like a women’s fiction than romance. A fun, cute read that will leave you feeling happy yet leave you thinking about the important things in life.

Social media can either make you or break you, sometimes you just have to deal with whatever happens and find your place.....
This book had a nice story, So i was expecting this book to be different than what it was but it was still good.
It feels more like a story of self-growth,finding yourself (or maybe the better would be re-discovering yourself). This is more about Cat and her life story like a Woman's fiction and less romance/rom-com.
We have Cat and Zaiah as the main characters and love interests
The trope of opposites attract
Hard life topics are present in this book and did a good job showing this part of Cat's life.
I would have liked to have more romance and chemistry with the characters.
I did really like the narrator did a great job telling this story.

I was able to read (or shall i say listen to this book aka audiobook) this ARC that's to the publisher and Net Galley. My review/opinions above are my own, honest and voluntary.

Thank you so much NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a fun read. I loved the setting in the National Park and the small town cozy atmosphere. I thought the romance aspect was good but I wanted a little more tension between Zaiah and Cat. That being said, I think the pacing also worked really well! The side characters were all so wonderful and I hope we see them again in a future book.

I think it had a heartfelt message about being more intentional with our time on social media.

I flew through the audiobook, the narrator was great!

Overall a 4/5 stars for me. I think this would be a great book to read this summer on a camping trip or a trip to the lake.

This is my second Melissa Ferguson book and I loved hearing the heroine's voice through the narrator
.
Melissa Ferguson writes in such detail and the topics she touches on are so well researched that one leaves the book with ample knowledge of what can happen in the lives of the characters
.
Cat is an influencer and as such every aspect of her life has to be meticulously cared for, after all brands choose her and pay her to showcase their products and aesthetic lifestyle. But when she tries to make the leap into the world of apps and partners with the wrong person, her life takes an unexpected turn and she becomes the number one public enemy
.
The only option is to leave luxurious New York and accept a job offer with her uncle in a hidden national park in Montana
.
Of course, she finds much more than she expected in that small town, among them a group of trainee park guards and employees who immediately take her as one more member of the family and her uncle's attractive assistant who doesn't stop looking at her suspiciously every time she use her phone
.
I really enjoyed listening to this story and above all I really wanted to go out and see the mountains with my own eyes, it was so heartwarming and Hallmark worthy with all that slow burn and cute small town
.
Thanks to Melissa Ferguson and Thomas Nelson for give me a copy of this beautiful book in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion

🌲BOOK REVIEW🌲

Famous for a Living - Melissa Ferguson
Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️

“With her millions of followers, Cat Cranwell is adored around the world. But when an app partnership goes very, very wrong, Cat suddenly finds herself shunned from the community that not only fed her soul all these years but paid her bills. When Cat’s closest living relative, Uncle Terry, offers her a position on his staff at a small national park in Montana to get away from the city, Cat hesitantly accepts the opportunity.

What she doesn’t realize is that as the new social media strategist her goal is to save Kannery National Park from being absorbed into Glacier National Park by boosting the number of visitors. And at least one of her new colleagues—namely, handsome and rugged ranger Zaiah Hudson—thinks social media is the root of everything that’s wrong with the world. Written with bestselling author Melissa Ferguson’s signature wit and charm, this romantic comedy of opposites attract is full of hilarious romp and a romance that will melt readers’ hearts.”

This was such a cute, fun read! I know it’s technically considered a romance but definitely enjoyed the friendships and Cat’e journey to figure out what is important just as much! I want Mina to come be my BFF! The romance was definitely a slow burn that started late in the book. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the message of being more present in the moment.

Recommend if you like:
- Found family
- Slow burn, closed dood romance
- Opposites attract
- Self growth and discovery
- Hallmark movie vibes

I loved this book ! Both the author & narrator did a great job at getting the audience to connect with the MC and keep it entertaining!
I loved the small-town setting, the side characters (Mina deserves her own book in a sequel), and how it addresses maintaining mindfulness in an era of omnipresent technology & social media. It was a great blend of charm, humour and heart, definitely recommend it ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This kind of felt like a retelling of the Hannah Montana movie. In a weird way. Social media personality Cat needs an escape from life after a really big scandal, and she does so in the solace of a National Park. But wait! There's a kind of cute but grumpy guy who works with her uncle and that's all you really get told over an over again for a majority of the book - so much so that the characters don't even have their first date until 2/3rds into the book, and it felt forced.

I don't say it often, but I felt like the main characters were vapid, and any background characters were just there to cause funny or pivotal scenes.

"Famous for a Living" was a cute rom-com. It followed the classic "city girl meets country boy" trope. It also had the main character almost losing her entire lifestyle and career at the beginning of the book due to a poor decision. She was then swept away to live in a remote mountain town with her uncle who works for a national park in Montana. Of course, she meets a handsome and rugged park ranger with whom she initially wants nothing to do. As she works to save the park using her social media influencer skills, their relationship changes and they feel drawn together despite their very different lives. There's witty banter and a few unexpected twists and turns throughout the book to keep the reader interested. It was a cute and entertaining read that did not require a lot of thought on the part of the reader. So if you're looking for something to pass the time that does not require a lot of heavy thinking, this is it!
