I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Completely adorable illustrations and easy to read writing style! My kid loved it and got to learn about a holiday that’s not celebrated in our house in a way that she could understand and be excited about. We’ll definitely check out more from this adorable series!

What a fun way to explain all the ins and outs of Hanukkah! Dinosaurs are always a hit so using them to explain the different nights and traditions of Hanukkah is brilliant. The pictures are adorable and I love everything about this book.

I received an electronic ARC from Lerner Publishing Group through NetGalley.
I enjoy Wheeler's Dino books and have loved her easy to understand ones on holidays. In this one, she explains Hanukkah for younger readers who may not know much about it and offers a joy filled look for those who celebrate. The brightly colored illustrations show the dinosaurs' personalities and have been consistent over all the volumes. Looking forward to adding this book to our library.

Dino-Hanukkah is a cute story. Children will really like the dinosaurs in the story. It does a nice job with the different elements of Hanukkah. A child that is not familiar with the holiday would need some explaining about the different concepts. Overall a very interesting way to explain Hanukkah.

This is my first exposure to the popular Dino series of children’s books. Dino-Hanukkah is part of the Dino Holiday series, but there’s also a Dino-Sports series, which covers several sports including baseball, dancing and hockey. The holiday series covers Hanukkah (obviously) as well as Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. The book’s illustrations are colorful and fun.

The story focuses on a family of dinosaurs (all sorts of dinosaurs) who are excited to celebrate Hanukkah. Rhyming couplets tell the tale. I loved that the book shows the family of dinosaurs celebrating all eight nights of the holiday, with the “children” taking turns lighting the menorah.

Thank you to NetGalley and Carolrhoda Books for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is a cute childrens book about Dinosaurs celebrating Hanukkah. The illustrations are really beautiful and colorful, so children will love the colorful dinosaurs. Some of the rhymes were a little forced, but its always good to see more Jewish books on the market.

Lisa Wheeler adds to her series of holiday books featuring Dinosaurs. This one has the Dinosaurs celebrating Hanukah. Activities include lighting the menorah, making latkes, eating brisket served with kugel (apples & noodles) and playing games. The illustrations are colorful and words are rhyming. My elementary school library has the entire sports series by the author and the previous holiday books. They are very popular and this will be a welcome addition. I also appreciate that it helps diversify our library as it kids can learn about a religion that it less familiar in my area. Thank you to Lerner Publishing Group for the ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving a voluntary review.

My children are seasoned readers of the whole dinosaur sport and holiday series, and as an interfaith household, were thrilled to read Dino-Hanukkah. The story was well done, as always, and included pertinent information, that went deeper than the usual Hanukkah stories. We loved it, and will be buying a copy for our home when it comes out! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

5 stars & 5 year old approved!

May is Jewish American heritage month so while perusing NetGalley I decided this was a perfect time to pick up this title. It was a really fun picture book. I firmly believe you can never go wrong with dinosaurs because they just make everything better. I don’t have much to say on the story itself, it was good. The art was really fun and colorful. The rhyming, which is a part of children's books that I have gotten pretty good at noticing, was on point. Not overdone, not forced, but still make sense with the flow of the story. I will say that for some reason the text on my digital art had a few clipping issues but that is probably just an arc thing.

Grab a dreidel,
Give it a spin.
It’s time for
Dino-Hanukkah to begin!

This book is adorable. I love these lil Jewish dinos and their sweep preparations. This is a sweet, happy book with a cute, engaging art style. This book isn’t educational about Hanukkah, but rather illustrates a sweet, dino-tastic family gathering. I think lots of folks will love reading this to their children during the holiday season.

If you like Hanukkah, and who doesn't?
If you like Dinosaurs, and who doesn't?
Then you will love this book.
Dinosaurs getting ready for Hanukkah, lighting the candles, eating latkes, cooking brisket, playing dreidel, giving and receiving gifts, all fun.
This is an enjoyable book, with good rhymes and bright and engaging illustrations.
Just the company needed during the festival of lights.

Lisa Wheeler's Dino-Hanukkah is a delightful, rhyming story about an adorable dinosaur family celebrating Hanukkah. They enjoy cooking - and eating! - kugel and brisket. They take turns lighting the shamash in the menorah. They rejoice in the traditions of the holiday in this charming story that will appeal to young readers everywhere. I can't wait to add this to my classroom's Holiday Book Basket, especially because we're in need of more wonderful stories that celebrate Jewish culture.
