First and foremost, the cover design is gorgeous and that is was drew me in at first. The summary also sounded interesting, and it seemed to have everything I like in a book: fae, spice, and romance. Unfortunately, it fell short for me.
The concept of the story is interesting. Definitely check trigger warnings, for the main concept surrounds a literal hunt for mates. The females’ wings are bound and if a male catches them, they bond. They have one veto, and our main character Ember is vehemently against becoming bonded with any of the males.
We meet our love interest, Typhon, shortly after the hunt begins. He’s an unseelie who Ember runs into. Whenever a love interest is described as long haired and winged with fangs, I’m sold. He just seemed a bit… flat? All of the character in the book seemed a bit flat. I understand the book is a novella so there is only so much characterization that can be done, however I hoped for more than what is presented. I didn’t connect with any of the characters or understand what drove them. I loved the bisexual rep of the main characters, however. What I wasn’t expecting was the polyamory at the end, which is just personally not my cup of tea.
The formatting of the book was also a bit odd. It was right side aligned, which made reading the dialogue a little confusing.
The novella was also marketed as an erotic romance; however, the spice scenes seemed a bit bland and were brief. The scenes were straight forward which isn't a bad thing, however for a book marketed mainly as erotica, I feel as though the scenes could have been a little bit more descriptive and fleshed out.
Overall, this book had potential. Unfortunately, I feel as though it fell short of what it could have been.
Thank you NetGalley for an eARC copy of "The Springfest Sprint" in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to Georgie Monroe, NetGalley, and the publisher for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is good if you just need a short, cute, spicy read. There isn't a lot of substance here, but I didn't mind. The spice is good, Ty and Ember are fun to follow, and the hints at Fae lives were fun!
An archaic activity to match unmated fae with a partner to ensure that procreation happens and the species continues to thrive takes place causing Em to find a hiding place, but that hiding place comes with its own 6ft tall hot issue to deal with. Novella length book that will have you laughing and cheering Em on while also being frustrated on her behalf at the demoralizing way women of her species are treated, but the steamy aerobics will warm you up and have you cheering for an entirely different reason! A fun short story that made for a great distraction from a long, tedious day!
"Ember has come of seelie age, however, the spirited heir of the Spring Fae Court hasn't chosen a mate yet. Per the court's ancient custom, it's time for her to run the Springfest Sprint! The males are ready to claim their mates, and many have their sights on the elusive princess. But she's got a plan..."
The only issue with Novelettes for me, is that there just isn't enough story. I want more dang it! I found this story a fun romp. I enjoyed the different fae descriptions and who doesn't enjoy an enemy to lovers troupe?! Ember is fun and firey, as her name suggests, and the witty banter was an unexpected delight. A good sassy erotic romance to scratch the summer fling itch, but hopefully there will be more in the future!
I just reviewed The Springfest Sprint by Georgie Monroe. #thespringfestsprint #NetGalley
⭐️ 4/5
🌶 3.5/5
Ember is a feisty, Fae princess that has come of age to choose a mate, but she doesn't have any real interest in any of the Spring Fae, so she is to participate in the Springfest Sprint. Many of the elite Spring Fae have her in their sights. She plans to hide and wait out the ceremony so she isn't mated and free by the night's end. She finds herself in the perfect hiding spot, but a stranger appears. He is unlike any of the men she has ever met. Typhon is respectful, a good kisser, and a Dark Fae!
This book may be short, but it had so much world-building and you really got to understand the FMC within the first couple of chapters. This author immersed me in another world where I could picture exactly what was happening throughout the book. Ember and Ty had a great enemies-to-lovers relationship that I didn't want to end. Which brings me to the downside of this book. It was too short. I wanted more! The ending wrapped up nicely and quickly showed how their worlds could emerge. By the way, the spice was 🥵.
Thank you, Georgie Monroe and Netgalley for this ARC!
Excellent novella! I really enjoyed the steamy fantasy that challenged the norms. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.
Man, I really did not know what I was getting myself into here. I really thought I did, but then I got a really funny, quick-witted, champion of a novella. I liked Ember's sarcastic and blunt sense of humor from the beginning, and Ty's whole personality was just swoony. Even Donovan, who existed for like a minute, really, was a gem of a character with great one-liners. The spice was great, the chemistry was palpable, and the characters were well-developed for such a short book. Really solid work. Easy 4.5 stars rounded to 5.

Oooh! This was such a fun, spicy little novella that was very exciting to read. Firstly, the cover- beautiful!
The story is about a fierce FMC, Ember- sassy and fierce, who has to participate in an important festival i.e. about mating, which she doesn't want to take a part in. But then she decides to hide, where she meets someone interesting and the story begins.
I was totally intrigued from the start and looved it till the end. Will definitely reccomend this!
Thankyou NetGalley and Georgie for providing me with this ARC for an honest review. :)
I had the chance to read "The Springfest Sprint" by Georgie Monroe in exchange for my honest review. I enjoyed this book. It did not turn out how I expected but I am glad she ended up with someone on her own terms and not because it was forced upon her. I love her spunk and attitude.
What can I say other than wow. While reading I could feel the desire and the wanting that was being told. I was sad when I finished this book. It is so addicting. I wanted more, and didn't want it to end. It is a spicy book. And I just loved it.
What a fantastic and quick read! This was novella sized, so I knew there wouldn't be a ton of space for world building but the author still did a wonderful job with painting a clear picture of the settings and characters. A few great spicy scenes and a light plot made for a very enjoyable read! **ARC REVIEW- I was gifted an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for allowing me to be an early reader!

For Mature Readers!!!
This little Novella packed a lot in such a small package. Quick read. Start to finish for me was about an hour and a half. With it being a short read I was left wanting more, but I was satisfied with how the story rounded out. I would love to read a fleshed out version of this, and this be a part of the book. There seems to be more books that will be coming out in this series, so I am excited to check those out when they come out.
The writing was well done. The story flowed well and I didn’t feel like there were lots of lull points. Loved the MMC so much. He was sassy and the banter between him and the FMC was great. Also, loved his friend! The second book is about him.
Hot, Hot, Hot! I loved the spice in this one and it just kept happening! I thought it was well done.
Super fun, short read! Definitely worth the read. I’m excited to read more.
Thank you NetGalley, One Night Reads LLC, and Victory Editing NetGalley CO-OP for the copy of this book! All opinions are my own!
Fantastic short read with alluring spice and detailed story telling.
The scenes sound beautiful, the story line easy and believable to follow. Would love to pick up more of the authors short stories.
This was a perfect read, finished in one sitting. I loved the concept and the characters - and can’t wait for more in the series!
I just have to say that this book was amazing! It is a perfect short fantasy romance story with all the sass from the main character you can ask for. The first thing that caught my attention was definitely the cover, like wow Ember looks absolutely stunning, it's the perfect representation of her.
I loved the bond between Ember and Ty it was perfect with the banter alongside the nicknames, unbeatable. She is definitely a strong fmc and i loved her, a very well written character to be completely honest. I feel like this is just one of those books you can read if you're stuck in a reading slump, the bond between the characters and the short chapters just stop you from wanting to put the book down for even one minute and just make you feel like you have to know what's next and before you realise it you've finished the whole thing.
It is the first instalment in the "Faetales" and with the next one coming soon hopefully!
Be sure to get yourself a copy of The Springfest Sprint on release day 23rd June 2023!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me this opportunity to receive an this arc for free!
This is a quick, spicy fun read with a lot of whimsy and just enough character development to make it a fun read.
Ember, a sassy and independent princess, takes part in a traditional mating ritual for her fae community. She meets a dark prince from a rival group of fae and instant sparks fly.
I would love to read a full novel and more about Ember and Ty.
3.5/5 spice
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of The Springfest Sprint by Georgie Monroe. This was my first Novella from Netgalley and I was able to easily read it in an afternoon. I enjoyed it and will be on the lookout for future books by this author.
Deliciously refreshing. Make sure to read trigger warnings.
The chemistry between the main characters is very easy and playful. When you think of fairies you usually have a specific idea in mind of good vs evil in that realm, but I absolutely love the unique way things were presented to make you question if all the previous things you might have known about fairies were perhaps presented from the wrong perspective.
Despite the plot being centered around a spicy concept, the spice level was about a 2/5. I would've personally liked the spice scenes to be a little more descriptive, but with this being a novella I completely understand the more brief descriptions.
If the author ever wrote a full length series with the escapades involving these two, I would completely sink my teeth into that. That said, I still absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a short steamy fae story with a unique plot idea.
This story reeled me in from the very first page. It was such a fun and steamy book, but I wish it had been a little longer. I don't want to give out spoilers, but there were some scenes that could've definitely used added details and the romance could have been drawn out a bit more. Since it was a novella, I understand having to rush the plot, but sometimes the romance needs a little more slow burn to increase the tension. I also wasn't crazy about the several different nicknames the MMC called the FMC. I think it's best when only one or two nicknames are used. All in all, I really enjoyed this book would definitely read more from this author in the future.
If you're looking for a fast-paced book that involves exotic faeries this is book for you. Even though the plot was predictable, it was a fun read with interesting characters. However, I would have enjoyed some more interaction between the characters before they became obsessed with one another. Overall, if you are looking for a short, fast-paced romance book to past time this is the book for you.
