✨Book Review✨
The Coworker by Freida McFadden
⭐️⭐️💫
.
Two and a half, rounding up to three because it did make me want to keep reading. The writing was poor, the main character was a walking Autistic stereotype, and it was clear the author does not truly know any Autistic people. I guessed almost all of the plot twists, LONG before they happened, and the ending was just UGH. I will still give a few of her other books a chance, but this one was not it.

This was a wild entertaining ride! It is my first read by this author and I can’t wait to devour another! I flew through this one and enjoyed the twists and turns. While I did see some of them coming, it was interesting to see how they played out and there were still a few surprises! A solid, quick thriller, with a surprisingly satisfying ending.

This book was well written, fast paced, and really did keep me on the edge of my seat all the way until the end. I read it immediately and couldn't put it down!

I have been on a reading slump for a bit and this book definitely got me out of it! I literally could not put this book down! I thought that I had figured this book out by the middle, but the ending totally shocked me with its several twists and landed with a bang that totally wasn't what I expected. This was an easy fast paced read that didn't have a lot of characters. This is my third book that I have read by this author.. the first two were The Housemaid and The Housemaid's Secret and I loved them just as much and highly recommend reading them.
Thank you NetGalley and Hollywood Upstairs Press for my advanced copy!

Turtles and twists! What a ride. You can’t go wrong with a Freida McFadden book. Workplace toxicity definitely appeals to everyone and don’t we all have a turtle loving coworker?! Love the different time perspectives we get. Always makes you inch closer to the edge of your seat!

Unfortunately I don’t think this is McFadden’s best book and I ended up DNF’ing this one. The writing was so clunky and the character descriptions were over-the-top (Dawn’s turtle obsession is too much). I like a lot of McFadden’s other books but this one wasn’t for me.

Sincerely, I believe that Freida McFadden is one of the best psychological thriller writers. I have read many of her books, and she doesn't disappoint, and this book is so much better than any other. "The Coworker" is a nail biting story. Freida McFadden did an excellent job here to keep you on your toes. From the beginning of the story you are wondering what went wrong. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Thank you, NetGalley, for an e-ARC of The Coworker by Frieda McFadden.
This was my first Frieda McFadden book, and it won't be my last. I now understand why she is a popular author. The Coworker includes characters that are unlikeable, quirky, and flawed. These traits add to the story and keep the reader at a distance so that the events can unfold. Full of twists and surprises, this book did not disappoint.

I've come to expect awesome twists from Freida McFadden and this book sure didn't let me down. I fly through her books because it's almost impossible to put them down. So when a coworker goes missing and the main character is a top suspect, it's a wild ride to get from who might've done it and who did!

Review:
Having heard so many great things about Freida's other books I had to give this one a read and it did not dissapoint. I wasn't able to put this down the story is just way too good! The twists and turns have you constanting checking if you read that correctly and trying to figure out what to believe. Freida has you guessing right up to the end and then you're still surprised. This is a must read!

Well Ms. Freida, you have done it again! I am a huge fan of McFadden’s books. I was a little disappointed in her last book, but she came back strong with The Coworker. Twisty!
Dawn would really be the most annoying coworker I could ever work with, she’s just over the top. She talks too much, has a fixation on turtles and tries too hard. Natalie, well liked, beautiful, successful Natalie happens to share the cubicle beside Dawn.
One morning Dawn doesn’t show up for work. Somethings wrong, but what? Oh me oh my…
Two unreliable characters keeping me on my toes.
This book had me guessing, lots of twists and turns. I stayed up way too late finishing this one!

Freida McFadden is one of my favorite authors so I had really high expectations. Unfortunately, this was not one of my favorites. The turtles became a bit much afterwhile. I still enjoyed the storyline and getting to know the characters and their backstory. I loved the twists and turns but the book was just a little predictable and the ending left me wanting more.

Thank to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

A workplace thriller with two unreliable female main characters? Sign me up! I didn’t know who to believe…the book was fast-paced and kept me guessing the entire time. Another slam dunk from McFadden and I will forever think of this book whenever I see a turtle.

"The Coworker" was a page turner. It was easy to read and easy to understand. The characters were likeable and some were dispicable. The end of the book leaves you thinking about it for days.

I love a good unreliable narrator, and The Coworker brings us two! Popular and beautiful Natalie, a top salesperson, and quirky, plain, and turtle-obsessed Dawn (who is likely on the spectrum), the new hire accountant, share a cubicle wall and have nothing in common…or do they?! I found The Coworker to be another wildly entertaining and twisty (although not necessarily shocking twists) story. Think long cons, the lengths you would go to avenge a friend, and secrets - lots of secrets. Quickly digested and so fun to read!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

I would like to start by saying that I liked and enjoyed this book. I had a great experience reading it and I would recommend this book to anyone interested in it.

I was invested and I believe that the author made a great job in building up the suspense, but the end wasn’t that much worth it.

It was so good but the end just couldn’t top it. I think it was a little flop and another end would’ve been better. I like it but it won’t stick with me.

Great atmosphere and awesome build up! Thank you for the ebook! I appreciate it and I’m glad I’ve read such a hyped author! 🫶🏻

McFadden does it again! She perfectly crafts detailed back stories, intriguing characters, and an unpredictable ending with multiple twists! By the end, you’ll probably hate ALL the characters because they are ALL such horrid people with dark secrets.

Simple fun read of who dunnit. Mean girls and high school in an office. No high lit for sure. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC

Freida McFadden is the best at creating twists and turns that I would never see coming and is always able to keep me on my toes and turning the pages until the book is finished. I loved the Coworker, I thought the plot was well developed and I just had to know what was happening. It's one of those books that you pick up and can't put down until it's over.

Thank you #netgalley and the author for sending me an arc in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own
