Description
From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Housemaid!
"Don't start a Freida McFadden book late at night. You won't be able to put it down!"— Natalie Barelli, bestselling author of Unforgivable
Two women. An office filled with secrets. One terrible crime that can't be taken back.
Dawn Schiff is strange.
At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45 a.m.
So when Dawn doesn't show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie Farrell—beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running—is surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changes everything…
It turns out Dawn wasn't just an awkward outsider—she was being targeted by someone close. And now Natalie is irrevocably tied to Dawn as she finds herself caught in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who's the real victim?
But one thing is incredibly clear: somebody hated Dawn Schiff. Enough to kill.
The Coworker is a tense, unputdownable thriller from New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden that explores the dark ways the past can echo through the present—with deadly consequences.

Absolutely Amazing! I will be recommending this book to everyone. As a long time Freida reader and fan, The Coworker is moving to the top of my favorites. Fast pace and thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had the twists figured out another curveball is thrown. It truly had me guessing (and gasping) until the last sentence. Very well done Freida and team!
I’ve been a dedicated Freida McFadden fan ever since reading The Housemaid and The Housemaid’s Secret. When I started reading The Co-Worker earlier today I was hoping it would be just as good and it was! The author put so much plot into this novel and I applaud her efforts to keep readers entertained. But books this good prevent me from moving from my comfy chair for hours. Worth it? Definitely yes!
I have been a big fan of Frieda Mcfadden for a while now and truly have loved all her books. The Coworker quickly pushed its way to my top favorite! Once I started I truly could not stop. I stayed up way past bedtime to finish?
“The Coworker” by Freida McFadden
Dawn Schiff and Natalie Farrell are coworkers at Vixed, a nutritional supplement company. Although the two women work side by side, they couldn’t be more different. Dawn is well…a bit strange, at least according to the office community, while Natalie is among the most popular to work for the company. Dawn can always be counted on to be on time, if not early, to the office each day so when Natalie arrives to find that Dawn hasn’t shown up to work and hasn’t called out sick, she begins to worry.
No one believes Natalie when she says she feels like something bad must have happened, so she takes it upon herself to visit Dawns home, only to find Dawn missing and a suspicious amount of blood in the living room. She immediately involves the police, but signs quickly begin pointing to Natalie as the number one suspect even though she swears she’s innocent.
To make matters worse, Natalie is receiving phone calls and even though the person on the other line doesn’t make any sound she knows someone is there.
When the police gain access to Dawn’s emails, they are led to a chain of messages between Dawn and a close friend. Dawn details Natalie’s office mistreatment of her over the last year since she’s worked for the company. Natalie also finds a key piece of evidence from the case tucked into the laundry basket in her home. Natalie maintains her innocence, but the police are quickly closing in and it’s up to her to find out the truth, before it’s too late. “The Coworker” is another book by Freida McFadden that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you question the motives of absolutely every character you meet. Highly recommend!

Favorite Freida book! Kept me on my toes and SO many twists. Especially at the end. I absolutely loved Dawn and how dedicated she was. Nat annoyed me beyond believe. Way to go Freida!! When’s the next book?!?
Every book I read by Freida McFadden, has this way of keeping me on my toes the entire book. And I always wonder how it’s going to tie together but in the end, it wraps up perfectly! I have not read a book yet by this author that I didn’t enjoy. In fact, she has become the author I recommend to everyone. The Coworker was well written, had just the right amount of suspense with a great story line behind it. I never saw Part Two coming! As soon as I started reading part two, my mind was blown! This book is definitely five stars and I will recommend it to anyone who will listen!
Frieda does it again! She’s my go-to author and this book is yet another that will have you racing through the pages to find out just what exactly it going on. As usual with Frieda’s books, it’s not what you expect. Our heroine Dawn is having a tough time at work - showed through a series of emails to her friend. But there’s a whole lot more going on in that office and in the private lives of our cast of characters. Another five star read!
The queen can do no wrong! Another unstoppable page turner- definitely preorder this one and be ready for a reading marathon because you will not want to put it down!
A twist like no other! TBR it right now Freida Fans, she has done it once again. The first page will hook you and wanting more. A lesson to always remember kindness matters. This book comes in hot with a mean girl twist that leaves you hanging on till the last page. Can not wait to discuss this book when it hits the shelf!
Such a fast read that I finished overnight!! I was left shocked at a lot of parts, and I am happy that this was the book that introduced me to this author! I will definitely be reading more of her books now.
Freida does it again!!!
There is one thing I can be certain of in life...I will never correctly guess the plot twist of a Freida McFadden book.
I was very excited to dive into this book as I have read all of Freidas books and not a single one has disappointed me. The Coworker was a very fast read for me, it is one of those books that force you to keep reading so you can see what happens next. I knew I had to get to Part Two so I can see what twist Freida had in store for us this time and boy was I surprised! I love the style of Freidas writing and how she keeps you engaged by forcing you to question the motives of every character. I highly recommend this latest novel of hers and am excited to see what the future holds for us Freida McReadahs!
Special thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for offering me the opportunity to read and review this gem.
I have never read a book by Freida McFadden until The Coworker. I will now be reading every book by Freida McFadden.
Aside from all the technical things, it’s written, well, it reads quickly, it reads easily, the story hooks you from page one… this book was incredible. The way the storyline was woven into and between Natalie‘s life, and Dan’s life was so well done. The storyline itself was unique, and I didn’t see it coming. And although we figured out “who done it“ several chapters before the end of the book, there were still so many twists and turns before we got to the end. And the way everyone lived their lives after they all figured out how they were involved? Oh, my gosh!
I can’t wait to read every other book by this author, and by the way, I think The Coworker would make an excellent movie!
