This Book was CRAZY! This is only the second Frieda book I have read and will not be my last. I thought i had it all figured out, and I would to think i am pretty good at figuring out twists, but i was totally wrong. There were a couple times I had my mouth open and literally said "WHAT"" out loud. this book literally had engrossed in it from page 1 until the end. I could not get enough of it. I have recommended it to my entire family and can not wait to read another one of her books.
I have only read a few McFadden books and this one is my favorite. I liked disliking some of the characters and being unsure about the others. It was a quick read that kept you reading until the end. I would recommend it to mystery readers and obviously the Freida fans that are galore.
I thought this book was good! It was fast paced which I love, the characters were interesting and we had some twists and turns. This didn’t wow me like most of Freida’s books so that’s why I rated it a 4 but all in all I think it’s worth the read!
I was kept interested until the end, which is always a three-star minimum. I did find the narration a bit annoying and hard to deal with at times. All in all., I love Freida and how she continues to bring us new thrillers.
This book was such a ride. I wouldn’t say thrill ride, because it feels like a lot of useless information, but trust me. Every little piece you get is part of the puzzle and the twist! Whew!
I adore Freida's books and this was no exception. I did not see the twists and turns of this book coming. The short chapters make this (and all her books) easy to just keep reading.
I give it 3.5 stars, but rounded up for the purpose of this review. It wasn't as edge of my seat as her others, it wasn't as attention seeking as her previous books and the reader was actually able to kind of guess some of the twists in this one.
The turtle's were a bit much - it became a bit overwhelming, I mean I like turtles, but the amount of turtle stuff was too much - it was filler/fluff designed to make the book longer and this reader didn't appreciate it. The character's weren't exactly likeable and the reader didn't want to root for any of them - they were just annoying at some parts.
The plot was good, it was unique, and it had some really good parts, but also some really eh parts. I will read more by this author because I usually love her books, but for some reason this one just wasn't a favorite. Overall a good read, but not the best. Give it a read and see for yourself!
This was another great book by Freda McFadden. Love her twists you don’t see coming! I try to guess them every time lol!
This was my first Freida McFadden book, and I really enjoyed it! It had plot twists, sketchy characters and an interesting and gripping plot.
Excited to read more from this author ;)
Because of the overuse of the word Turtles, I’m now hiding in my shell! The story was decent but I was just too repetitive talk and omg turtles. I wouldn’t recommend this book.
It was a nice book, and as usual another fast-paced novel by my fav Frieda. Didn't know the twists that were waiting for me. Excellent work!
This one wasn't one of my favorite books by Freida McFadden. It was quick to read but I found it a little bit boring. I just didn't particularly feel attached to any of the characters and I found both of the female characters annoying. Maybe that was the point. But as in typical Freida McFadden style, I did not see the twist coming. I thought I had it all figured out but as usual, I was wrong. It wasn't my favorite book by her but it wasn't bad either.
Freida can do no wrong! She keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the end. Super quick read that you won't want to put down!
This was an incredibly fun quick read because once you start it, there is no putting it down! There were many suspenseful twist and turns which kept me totally engaged and anticipating what was coming next. Classic McFadden surprising ending developments did not disappoint.
Super enjoyable read!
Wow, now this was a goodie, I didn’t expect this. From the characters to the story line and the plot unfolding!
-1st I’d like to say well done with Dawn and the representation of Autism (I’m assuming) but well done, as a mom of a high functioning autistic child, the social interactions, the specificity of things to Dawn and the routine and hyper fixation on her turtles I enjoyed that a lot and for her to be a lot smarter then what her co workers at Vex thought of her.
I enjoyed how the story was told and laid out and the twists were so good!
- and the very end, the greeen emerald that got me lol
Definitely a 4 star read for me!
One of my favorite popcorn thriller authors! This was so much fun and such a fast-paced read. I always love Freida’s twists and two-sided stories. Thank you to Poisoned Press for the early copy!
This is really worth it! I've been a Freida McFadden fan since I don't know when and all her creation is *chef's kiss*.
A bit underwhelming
I give this book 3.5 stars. I can’t say it’s my fav of Freida McFadden. The plot twist was just meh, no wow factor. No the turtle is creepy and Dawn was lowkey annoying.
I absolutely love Freida but I didn’t think I could stand one more turtle fact or reference. Then the emails got on my nerves. I’m glad I stuck with it and finished because I love her twists and humor.
Thank you Poisoned Pen Press for my copy.
I really enjoyed this book. I was looking forward to reading it and glad to get a copy early! I read this book in a day because I had to know what was happening and it did not disappoint! It was fast paced and kept me guessing until the end.
I always know a Freida book is going to be good but this one is one of my favorites!
