This is one of my favourite Freida McFadden books, I was able to get a copy of the ARC a few days before the publishing date but just finished it today and omg I truly cannot stop thinking about it. If I didn't have to work, I would not have put this down. Love it!
The Coworker👠
By Freida McFadden👀
Review💯
I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this one. This author has some of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. Every time I start a book by her, I know I’m in for a hell of a ride. This one was no different and was absolutely twisted! I love good plot twists, and this one has multiple. The characters were fantastically well written, and the story had my heart racing. There is never any down time, and it’s a constant go, go, go from beginning to end. Please go read this; it’s a masterpiece! I can’t wait for her next book!

4.5 which I will gladly round up to 5.
The Coworker is a fast paced twisty read full of nasty characters and some nice.
Everyone in the office has secrets: some more than one.
Dawn who is the social outcast is missing and Natalie the most popular in the office is the main suspect.
The trail does lead to Natalie.
Red herrings with twists and turns (some you will see coming ) followed by an ending that will have you gasping.
Move The Coworker to the top of your TBR pile and settle in for a crazy wild ride.
Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for a page turning read.

I was really curious and interested to read the latest release from McFadden. I didn’t always had the best experiences with her books so far, there are a few I liked (like The housemaid’s Secret)) but also others I didn’t liked at all.
The coworker started out really exciting and with some tension and lots of things which give you a shady/suspicious feeling. But unfortunately it fizzled out real quick and kept being a slow burn throughout most of the story. The two female MCs are total opposites, popular vs shy/social disability which keep the story interesting and varied. Sadly, I couldn't connect with them or any other character in the story. It contains A LOT of turtle facts, and I missed some more background information from the characters from the start to get fully invested.
Eventually the story surprised me with a twist I didn’t expected, which piqued my interest again to keep on reading. If it wasn’t for that, it would be a dnf read.
For me McFadden is a bit similar to CoHo, you love or despise their books. And all their new releases are always a bit overhyped in my opinion. But if the blurb pleases you, then you should definitely read the book despite the hype or unpopular opinions (that’s what I always do).
If you like turtles, stories involving sales environments and girls taking revenge and slow burn stories: give this one a go!
Thank you @netgalley & @bookouture for this ARC.
This was my first book by Freida McFadden and definitely not my last! I now understand why so many people recommend her books to me. She’s fantastic at creating tension, unease and mistrust. This book kept me attention the whole time and I found myself glued to the pages! If you like thrillers with great twists, don’t hesitate to pick this up!
I read this book in one sitting it kept me hooked! I loved all the twists, some maybe a little predictable but it came together well for an unexpected ending.
Another great read by Freida McFadden! As usual her book is full of twists and turns that one cannot predict. The Coworker is a story about vengeance and how it can wholly consume every part of your life. Dawn has an unhealthy obsession with turtles and everything about Natalie, her coworker.. Most would describe Dawn as an extremely odd person. Natalie is the exact opposite; beautiful, well spoken; popular with women and even more so with men. Do two wrongs make a right?? Does a bully grow up to be a murderer? These are the questions you will be asking yourself when you read this captivating thriller. You will not be able to put it down!
always have been a huge fan of Frieda McFadden ever since I discovered the author on Kindle Unlimited. I knew I was to enjoy this novel and it did not disappoint. There is always some sort of unexpected twist that I love about McFadden's work. I look forward to more from Frieda McFadden.
Thank you, NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for approving my request.
This was a really interesting one. I was really nervous to read another McFadden after how much I loved The Housemaid, but this definitely lived up to it. Yet again, the book was a bit easy to guess the twist, but it was tense and interesting throughout. I was a bit iffy with the main characters and their likability, but that really didn't matter in this book, which was nice. Overall a super quick and fun thriller which I definitely needed.
This is a fun fast paced thriller that i could not put down. This book was a wild ride even though some of the characters i didnt care much for. Overall i had a good time reading this book and can't wait to drive into more of this authors books.
Freida McFadden”s books never disappoint. When you think you have it all figured out there a curve ball and then then another curveball. The coworker is a fast paced suspense story about Dawn and Natalie. Who work together until Dawn goes missing.
An engaging thriller with twists until the very end!! I absolutely didn't see these twists coming, and audibly gasped at a few of them! I was really attached to these characters and couldn't figure out who to trust. It was a quick and fun read!
Freida did it again!!! The CoWorker is a brilliant psychological thriller!!
Natalie and Dawn seem to be something like frenemies. Dawn is the "weird" coworker that annoys everyone, especially Natalie, the beautiful and popular top saleswoman at their company. When Dawn doesn't show up to work one morning, even though she always is at least 15 minutes early, Natalie goes to her home to search for her, but finds a crime scene instead. The whole story unravels more and more each day, especially when Natalie is being looked at for murdering Dawn.
This book had me from page one all the way to the major plot twist at the very end that is so Freida-tastic! There are multiple twists close to the end, but the last 2-3 pages are quite shocking. Freida is the MASTER of multiple plot twists and making them even better with each one that happens.
The Co-worker by Freida McFadden was absolutely crazy! I have anticipated this release for a few months now and it's truly mind blowing. You're always on edge trying to figure out what's actually going on. However with Freida McFadden you never actually know what's happening until the end-end!!! I cannot wait for my next Freida fix! If you love physiological thriller books that keep you guessing the Co-worker should be your next read!
I was so excited to get a chance to check out this book because I've been hearing it talked about forever now and I wasn't sure if I would be able to wait until the release date before I had to read it. Not only for that fact but the fact that Freida McFadden is the queen of thrillers I was ecstatic. To say that I went into this book with high hopes as an understatement however if anyone can live up to the hype it is Freida McFadden herself and to say she hit it out of the park with this one is a bit of an understatement. One of the things that McFadden does so well in all of her books and this one is no exception is she makes characters that you can relate to. Not only that but her characters become so real and her writing is almost like you were listening to someone tell the story themselves instead of reading a fictional story. This thriller pulled me in from the very first chapter and I couldn't bear to put it down for anything until I got to the end. Well this isn't a surprise from her novels it's was still amazing to see that even after all of the book she's written she still manages to hook the reader just to strongly. There were so many twists and turns in this novel that I have come to expect from her but even knowing that going into this book I was still surprised and nonetheless when they all came to light. This book starts Dawn doesn't show up for work one morning it leaves her co-worker (our main character) Natalie confused. Dawn has never missed a day in her life so what is going on? This leaves Natalie to take matters into her own hands to try and figure out what is really going on with Dawn. Is she okay and if she isn't what happened to her? That is when things take a turn for the worst for poor Natalie. Everytime I thought I had it figured out I was thrown a major curveball that completely changed the directory of the plot. Great read I loved everything about this book and I can't wait to add it to my collection when it comes out.
I have loved several of Freida McFadden's books in the past. This one, though, just wasn't for me. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.
It's a quick read, much like her others. I felt like the first half of the book drug. There are lots of certain details that I think were unnecessary. I also just didn't enjoy the main characters.
It did have a twist that I didn't see coming. Which made me keep reading.
Then, the ending wrapped up too fast after the slow pace at the beginning.
I think a lot of people will love this. Just wasn't for me.
Thank you @netgalley & @poisonedpenpress for allowing me to read and give my honest review.
Truthfully, I’m rounding this one to a 4-star rating. I’ve read the Housemaid and the Housemaid’s Secret, so I found the plot too much like her previous work. Perhaps I need to dabble more in the McFadden universe. I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t feel like it beat the other two I’ve read by her. I guess because the plot felt the same that I wasn’t fully loving it. Granted, the twists and turns were great. A good whiplash for all the right reasons in a whodunnit is always a good thing, but I found it somewhat predictable and sometimes repetitive. Still, I have to say that McFadden doesn’t fail to make her books page turners because you do become invested. Even the ending surprised me, especially when I thought things were becoming a little too “happily ever after.” There’s darkness here for sure, and so that bit at the end did leave a lasting impression. Definitely still recommend this one, though.
Two coworkers, countless secrets.

Vixed is a nutritional company that Dawn and Natalie both work at where Dawn is an accountant and Natalie a saleswoman. When Dawn goes missing one day, her cubicle neighbor, Natalie, finds it odd, especially when she wanted to speak with Natalie about a matter of great importance the day before. When Natalie goes to Dawn’s house looking for her, she finds a bloody mess instead. With no body, the police start questioning everyone in the office, wondering what could have happened to Dawn Schiff, but her disappearance is just the beginning of the secrets unveiled in each chapter of this book all the way until the very end.

Honestly at this point I believe @fmcfaddenauthor can do no wrong. I started this thriller on audiobook the way to work and finished it this evening. All my guesses were wrong and McFadden surprised me with each twist and turn. If you’ve read and loved her books before you’ll love the latest release!

Thank you NetGalley, Freida McFadden, and Poisoned Pen Press for allowing me to read an advanced copy of The Coworker. I received an advanced reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The beginning was not completely captivating but the chapters were short, which made the story feel like it was moving quickly. I was completely unsure of the direction the twist would end up going. When it finally happened, the plot got a whole lot more interesting.
I read this book in only a couple of sittings because I just had to know how it would end. This one was enjoyable. It had an intriguing cast of characters with just enough mystery to keep one's attention. The overall ending might be a little unrealistic in terms of the legality of the main scenario, but it was a good ending nonetheless.
First off I want to say thank you to NetGalley, Poisoned Pen Press and Freida McFadden for my ARC! Natalie is the top sales person for Vixed, a nutritional supplement company. Her coworker Dawn, who is the accountant, is very punctual and a little strange. Dawn is always at work by 8:45am on the dot. So when she doesn’t show up for work one day, Natalie is surprised and worried. Natalie receives an unsettling phone call which sends her into a crazy game of cat and mouse. Dawn was being targeted by someone close to her. Someone disliked her. Enough to kill? But who’s the real victim here?
Freida McFadden does it again! I couldn’t put this one down and finished it in one day! Definitely an entertaining read that kept me guessing. Not going to lie, I was excited to see a character with my name :P Freida always leaves me wanting more!
