I read this book in one sitting! Kept me up all night! The plot twist were definitely twisting in this one! Absolutely loved it.. Freida never misses!

I LOVE everything about her books. She is fantastic and keeps readers on a rife the whole time. There are twists and turns around every corner and every time you think you know... you don't. That's saying something to....because I've been an investigator haha. I can't wait to see what she does next!

I’m a huge fan of this author. This writing was ok. It did not wow me. The turtle throughout the story was annoying. This is different from her previous writings too.

This is not my favorite by the author, but a descent read. I did not see the twist coming. Fans of the author will enjoy it.

Freida always gets me! I love her writing style. I usually finish one of her books in less than 24 hours, and this one was no different.

This was the funniest thriller I have ever read. The silliness kept me invested and I laughed out loud at the characters. I think The Coworker was both my least favorite book by Freida but also the most memorable one.

McFadden books can be a hit or miss for me but I enjoyed this one. It’s a fast read and enjoyed both Dawns and Natalie’s POV. There were a couple parts of the story that I did guess but overall the story kept me reading and guessing.

I am a big Frieda fan, but this was before her recent social media presence. I feel that since this happened, the quality of her writing has significantly declined. I was with her all the way up to The Inmate and since then, I keep reading, but her writing has changed. The Coworker was ok. The turtles were annoying and while I understood that they were included to highlight the character's neurodiversity, it wasn't necessary. I will keeping reading her because of my OG fan status but I hope now that she is an author full time, she will slow down and stop cranking out less entertaining books.
Thank you to Netgalley and Frieda McFadden for ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lots of twists and turns in this novel about a strange ( autistic ?) woman and her struggles to understand and be accepted. She has the
final laugh in this very enjoyable story.

Absolutely amazing read from Freida! Couldn’t put it down the entire time. Keeps you hooked from start to finish and now I have a weird concern for people obsessed with turtles

Another great thriller from this author. I enjoyed the characters in this story, and the plot twist at the end, I didn't see coming. Really enjoyed this fast paced book.

Although the story held my attention, I found the characters to be a little goofy - almost like they were caricatures, which distracted from the story and made it less enjoyable. I've read other Freida McFadden novels and really liked them, so I think the characters in this case just did not hit the mark with me!

Natalie Farrell and Dawn Shift are coworkers that are totally opposites. Whereas Natalie has a bubbly personality, Dawn is reserved with a strange addiction to turtles. She constantly tells her best friend that no one likes her and have gone as far as to bully her.
Trouble started when Natalie received an alarming anonymous phone call, asking for help. When she goes in search of Dawn, she finds a bloody scene in Her home…but no body. When the police begin investigating, all fingers point to a coworker…one who is an innocent victim in a deadly game of revenge.
This is one of my favorite books by @fmcfaddenauthor. Her books pull the readers in from page one and doesn't let go until the EPILOGUE, because even when you think you know it all, Big Freida hits you with another plot twist. For the first time in a long time, I cannot pick a favorite character, because they are all guilty of something. My least favorite character is a tie between Dawn and Caleb.
Please go get this book!

The Coworker by Freida McFadden – 2 Stars (Kindle, NetGalley)
I was crazy about The Housemaid and The Housemaid’s Secret last year when we picked them up for book club, but unfortunately, I haven’t loved any of the other titles I’ve read from McFadden so far. The Coworker is a workplace thriller – when strange, but consistent Dawn doesn’t show up for work one morning, her deskmate Natalie gets worried and begins to worry that something terrible has happened to her. When she starts to investigate for herself, she gets tangled up in a mess that is not as straightforward as it seems. It just gets more and more outlandish as you keep reading. I love a good thriller, and I just didn’t think this was it.

The Coworker is a fast-paced thriller by the beloved Freida McFadden. Like many of her other books, this title was a quick and easy read. The internet is obsessed with McFadden and her stories, but I continue to not be wowed by her writing or development of characters. They tend to remind me of other popular thrillers by utilizing similar storylines and tropes. I find her books are great palate cleansers as they don’t take much “brain power” to read and can usually be read in just a few sittings.

Freida is my #suspensethriller QUEEN. This one was so, so good as are all of hers that I’ve had the pleasure of #reading so far. You cannot put these down.

Natalie, the top sales rep at a questionable vitamin and supplement company, and Dawn, the company’s fairly new accountant, work next to one another in the office, though they are complete opposites. Natalie is outwardly gorgeous, charming, and seems to have it all - the looks, the sales ability, and a handsome, younger boyfriend who appears to worship her. Dawn on the other hand is a strange character: socially awkward and unable to pick up on social cues, lonely, isolated, and obsessed to a disturbing point with all things turtle related.

Their worlds are entertained, though, when punctual, never miss a day Dawn doesn’t show up to work. The only person concerned, Natalie knows that something is deeply wrong, particularly when she begins to receive disturbing phone calls that lead her to believe something tragic and terrible has happened. Natalie’s search for answers and curiosity, though, will lead her straight into a brutal criminal investigation and a web of lies that goes deeper than she ever imagined.

All in all, you really never know your co-workers, do you? This sentiment rings entirely too true in this one.

This was my first Freida McFadden book; the story was engaging and the mystery kept me hooked to the last page. As a high school librarian I appreciated the lack of "adult context" and feel this would be a good addition to our mystery section and/or our new and full adult section.

I really wanted to like this book. The whole premise was actually great, but by the end of the story it was just so unrealistic. And the turtle talk was a little much. Not one of my favorites, but it did keep me engaged.

Let me preface my review with stating I am a HUGE Freida McFadden fan, I own her merch, brag about her every chance I get, and have read everything she’s written. Which is why I’m upset that this is my first 2 ⭐️ review for her.
I read the book in under 24 hours, per the usual. However, it just missed the mark! Shocking, I know. The book takes place in a workplace and is told by two POVs who both hate each other, I mean - that much is obvious. The discussion of turtles was literally on *every* page just about, the book is 300ish pages, and turtles were mentioned over 200 times, which is insane. I now have an abundance of turtle information, if anyone is curious. The characters in this book were lacking something, I really can’t put my finger on it.
If you enjoy easy and fast paced thrillers, this may be the book for you.
Out of all of Freida’s books this is definitely on the bottom of the totem pole for me. I’ll continue to read everything she produces, but I hope her next book is better.
Thank you NetGally, Mandy, & Freida for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A page turning thriller in the author’s unmistakeable style. Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC.
