I have enjoyed all of the Lovely Mrs. McFaddens books. This one was hard for me to get into and stay invested in. I tried about three or four times this book just wasn’t for me. I appreciate having the opportunity to read this book. I’m going to give it 3/5 as I did not finish it.

Wow! Another GREAT READ from Freida McFadden!

We all have that one coworker who is a little off, a little different. But when Natalie's coworker, Dawn, goes missing, suspicion turns to her! Can Natalie prove her innocence before she is sentenced to life in prison for a crime she didn't commit? Or did she......

This was a quick read for me, as I love Freida's writing style, and the twist at the end really surprised me! Overall, I thought this was one of her better titles with well developed characters and storyline.

This was such a good read. It was a fast read, one sitting.
It's full of twists and turns. I love how Freida details all the characters. She details each one in depth. I love that I can't figure out the ending until the end. She is a phenomenal author. You will love this book! I've already referred this book to so many people. Just read it!

After hearing from many people how awesome this author is, I requested this newest book from Freida McFadden.
The books follows Dawn Schiff, accountant at the Vixen, nutritional supplement company and her coworker Natalie Farrell, top sales rep at the same company. When Dawn does not show up for work one day, Natalie is drawn into the disappearance.

I had a hard time rating this book.

I gave it 4 stars for the story: This book was fast paced and had lots of twists and turns, which I loved. There were some plot twists I did not see coming and it kept the story interesting and kept me reading.
However I gave it 2 stars for the way the characters were handled. The further I got into the story the clearer it became to me that Dawn was autistic and this explained the awkward and “weird” behaviors. The way this was handled in the book did not sit well with me, it did not feel right and took me out of the story.
Overall I gave it a 3 star and I believe that it was a good thriller with interesting twists and turns, however if you are bothered by the portrayal of autistic main characters as weird and strange, I recommend not reading this.
I am interested in reading more books of this author, since I like the writing style and twists and turns of the story and I hope that the main characters in the other stories will be different.

I read this in under 12 hours, I could not put it down! This is my Freida McFadden book but it will not be my last!

Dawn is awkward but always prompt. She follows the same exact schedule every day and she absolutely loves turtles! Natalie is the top sales rep at the company they work at and the only thing they have in common is their desks are right next to each other. One morning, Dawn does not show up to work, and Natalie is worried. Through twists and turns I didn't see coming, Natalie is framed for Dawns murder but the suspense doesn't stop there.

I probably read this in under 24 hours. A tale of a strange coworker who goes missing. Very creative. Very eerie.

I was blessed to receive an ARC of this book.

First I want to say I love Freida and I usually devour her books in a day. This one was a slow starter for me. I really struggled to get into it. I think the beginning is just too slow. The characters are boring and it was not until the second half of the book that I became more interested in the story. I just think it took too long to get it going.

Dawn and Natalie are co workers and Dawn comes up missing. Natalie takes it upon herself to try to figure out what has happened to Dawn and finds herself in hot water because of it.

Dawn is obsessed with turtles and there is so much about turtles in the book I feel like it was overdone. I love turtles too but after this book I am a little sick of them.

The twists at the end were good but a little expected. I still love Freida just not my favorite book of hers.

When golden girl Natalie Farrell meets her new coworker, Dawn Schiff, she realizes that there is something "off" about the young woman. Dawn is obsessed with turtles and covers her cubicle with them. It seems that outside of accounting, Dawn can only speak on one topic-turtles. Natalie at first tries to make some friendly overtures to her weird coworker but finally gives up and exchanges whispers and emails about Dawn with her other coworkers. This behavior is not new to Dawn, who has suffered from an inability to be "normal" her entire life and is used to bullies and their tactics. When always prompt Dawn doesn't show up for work one day, Natalie becomes concerned, especially when she answer's Dawn's desk phone only to hear, "Help Me!" Going to Dawn's house to check on her leads Natalie down a path which ends with her being accused of Dawn's murder. Wait, What? There is a lot more going on here than what readers are lead to believe. Unspooling hints and slowly revealing the connections between Natalie and Dawn will keep readers engaged until the connections and motive are revealed. You'll want to read this in one sitting!

Another great FM book. This book is easy to read and keeps you on your toes. I have yet to figure out a FM book, even though I think about each character as I'm reading, still never get it. I rarely actually read anymore. I typically just listen, but I managed to get my hands on this one through NetGalley and decided that I would make an exception to my normal and I completed it in two days, that usually doesn't happen when I read a book. All the twists and turns in this one, you think this, and then you think that, and you are wrong it's something else you hadn't thought of and that hits a couple of times in this book. A twist like no other! TBR it right now Freida Fans, she has done it once again. The first page will hook you and wanting more. A lesson to always remember kindness matters. This book comes in hot with a mean girl twist that leaves you hanging on till the last page. Can not wait to discuss this book when it hits the shelf!

HOLY COW. I'm kind of thrilled that I read a psychological thriller and that it was GOOD. I'm excited to recommend this book to friends of mine who enjoy this genre.

There were twists I did not see coming. Across the board. Even spoiler tags would literally give everything away. But dang! I will say it is important to note that bullying is a topic that occurs frequently in this book and as such might be a trigger for some. Otherwise it was a fabulous read that I did not want to put down. And I didn't. I read it in a day and a half.

I'll be adding more to this review after the book. Because DANG! No one is likeable and that almost adds to the enjoyment.

Freida McFadden has done it again!
I’ve had my fair share of mystery/thriller/suspense novels but there is something about McFadden’s books that have become my go-to whenever I’m in a slump or just want to reread for enjoyment. I find McFadden’s books to be captivating and alluring while also being enjoyable, and The Coworker is no different. While McFadden’s latest thriller does fall into her formula, which only those who have read her novels will understand, it is still a good book. The suspense always keeps me wanting more and the twist is tactical and smart.
I can’t wait to read what McFadden has next!

I read my first Frieda McFadden book in May of this year, and this one makes number 5! I love this author's writing, it's easily digestible and all of the books have been one sitting reads for me. Her latest is no exception!

Natalie and Dawn have booths next to each other at work, and when the ever punctual Dawn doesn't show up for work, Natalie's concern leads her to check out her co-worker's home. What she finds is blood, and a lot of it and everyone presumes the worst for Dawn- and fingers are pointed at Natalie.

Rumours of bullying begin to surface, and Natalie is desperate to clear her name. Dawn is described as an oddball in the office, and the more we see her perspective leading up the the present, the more Natalie's narrative seems to fall apart.The way the author made me flip from caring about Natalie, to loathing her, to having sympathy return, followed by disgust is a credit to her fleshed out characters and her ability to weave in a good twist or two.

A snappy roller-coaster of a book!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance reader copy of this book. In true Frieda fashion, this book is written to grab the reader and keep them wondering until the end. Who is the good guy and who is the bad guy flips and flops until the last chapter. I hated most (all?) of the main characters, but that is something one should expect in a Frieda book. 5 stars!

Freida McFadden is incredible! Every book that I’ve read of hers has so many twists and turns. Just when I think I have the plot solved she hits ya with another twist. The Coworker would be a great fall book club pick!

The writing here feels beyond cheesy and almost textbook thriller without any of the nuance that’s apparent in contemporary powerhouses like Sally Hepworth and Lisa Jewell. This one feels so so overwrought and the dialogue isn’t realistic. I had no entry point here. Not for me.

The Coworker by Freida McFadden - I always think EVERY Freida Mcfadden book is my favorite until the next one! I REALLY think this is my favorite. I really thought I knew what the twist was going to be at the end and I was SO WRONG! And then.. the twists just kept coming until the end. I read this book so fast because I could not put it down! Easy to read, engaging, unputdownable! Everything I want in a thriller. I am kind of sad the book is over! Freida has done it again!!!

I loved it! Just like I love every book by Freida. Dawn and her turtles are just as weird and unsettling as Sheldon!

Highly enjoyed. The plot was great. It became a little predictable right towards the end and did leave some loose ends for me. I still very much enjoyed it. I will say, the main character seems to be autistic even though it’s never confirmed in the book. I’m still unsure how I felt about that representation. Freida is one of my favorite authors and I will always read her work. This was definitely different from what she’s written before

Freida has done it again! This was a great read with an easy to follow story without too many characters to lose track of and with lots happening from the get go making it an awesome page turner.

I found I was very engaged with this book throughout reading it and really enjoyed the quirkiness of some of the characters. I think this was very well thought out to make everything fall into place at the end and that’s all I really want to say without giving anything away! 😂
