Ah this was so sweet - just the right balance of humour, romance, and lightness. Like Presley, I fell in love with Beckett (and co) pretty quickly. I was left with a pleasant (slight) hangover - a happy ending that still has me craving the next book. (Please tell me Jilly and Grayson get their own stories!) The cast of supporting characters were quirky and endearing and I'm a sucker for opposites attract and small town settings.
Love, Naturally was the outdoorsy escape I didn't know I needed. I love the city dweller/influencer in the wilderness trope, and man was Beckett a dreamy hero! I also love a "save the small business" story, so this book hit all my sweet spots. In classic Sophie Sullivan fashion, it's a really fun romance.
It is instalove, but it's such a fun escape that it was worth it. I didn't love the third-act breakup, but the adorable redemption made up for it.
The side characters are all incredible, and I'm certainly hoping Sophie Sullivan writes more in this world.
I honesty love everything that Sophie Sullivan writes. She has such a way of pulling you into a story and making you love all of the characters. Presley and Beck may very well be my favorite of her couples so far. But I also loved the family dynamic between Beck and his siblings and the found family that Presley saw in them and the other guests. I sincerely hope that we get the other siblings stories too cause I would love that.
The story follows Presley who gets dumped by her boyfriend when she tries to surprise him with a vacation to the Get Lost Lodge. Devastated, she goes on the vacation herself, the one catch is that it was centered around all the things her ex-boyfriend liked to do; camping, fishing, hiking, etc. Presley is determined to have a good time on her vacation even if it's not her regular style. Once she arrives she meets Beckett, whose family owns the lodge, and you can guess where the story goes after that!
This was a love-at-first-sight book in my opinion. It was cute, with the whole opposites attract trope.
What could go wrong when Presley books a vacation for her and her boyfriend to go to a fishing lodge for his birthday? Well, him dumping her right before they leave on the trip is not ideal. Presley vows to take the trip by herself despite not being an outdoorsy person. She might just find a love of the outdoors.. or maybe just love in general?
What I liked:
- outdoor setting
- sweet romance
- Beckett’s family relationships
This was a sweet read that had great summer vibes! The plot was a bit more insta love than I prefer so I had a hard time getting into this book for that reason.
Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s for the advanced reading copy!
This one is cute, I really enjoyed it. It had many things I love. Nature, the great outdoors, a neighbor state as a setting and great characters. Presley and Beckett were great and a lot of fun. After a breakup Presley decides to go out of her comfort zone and take a trip she wouldn't normally go on. She embraces change, tries new things, and discovers things about herself that helps her let go and move on.
It was a great story and I am glad I discovered Sophie Sullivan!
Presley finds herself on a vacation for a now ex-boyfried that is definitely out of her comfort zone - the outdoors. Beckett who works at the place she's staying, of course helps her get over this breakup by being sweet and charming. This is another fun, light, easy read from this author. I enjoyed the characters, the cute small town, and the easy story to finding love.
Are you looking for a book that includes nature and hot mountain men? Then this book is for you! 😂 Presley plans a trip with her boyfriend Emmett to a newly renovated lodge called Get Lost. Emmett turns out to be a major loser and doesn’t go with Presley. She mostly was going to bond with him but decides to take the chance and go on her own. While she’s there, she meets the wonderful owner and his family and quickly falls into major like with Beckett.
Don’t let the amount of time it took me to read this book fool you into thinking you shouldn’t read this, you definitely should! It’s a sweet small town romance that includes a found family too. Beckett is going on the book boyfriend list after this! You will swoon for their love.
Though not particularly groundbreaking, this story was an enjoyable read with a cozy, predictable plot a la Hallmark Channel original movie. Perhaps the story would be better in script form because I truly struggled with the continuous trope of the "hot mountain man".
I wanted to love this- especially with the nod to Michigan and I am a Michigander.. but this just didn't hit the target for me. Insta-love for me is hit or miss, and this just didn't quite hit the target for me. I can appreciate a small town charming romance, however I didn't feel a connection with any of the characters. I liked that this was dual POV.. but other than that I can't say I was really captivated by this story. I felt that it dragged on.
Presley works at a small, boutique hotel - hoping for the promotion she deserves. She is under appreciated and undervalued in her work. Being able to get a few days off of work, she has planned to surprise her boyfriend with a trip to a lodge in Northern Michigan. The surprise doesn’t go as planned and Presley ends up going on the trip solo. She is out of her element being in the outdoors. Her world and everything she had planned for herself gets turned upside down as she grows closer to the family running the lodge. I really enjoyed reading this book. Presley and Beckett’s relationship is so sweet and I love how Presley meshes with the rest of the family.
In support of the SMP boycott, I will be withholding my review of this title until SMP speaks out. If the boycott is resolved, I will update with a full review.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sophie Sullivan and St Martin’s Press for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
This was really adorable and just a great palate cleanser after so many mysteries and thrillers. The characters were amazing and I want to go to Get Out so badly for my next vacation. Sounds so perfect for relaxing. Definitely recommend.
Thanks to Netgally and the publisher for sending me an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
This is in between a 2.5-3 stars for me. It was very much insta-love, which is not my favourite trope. The entire book takes place within a 3 week span, which seems a little fast for me. There was definitely some cute moments throughout the book that is making the rating a little bit higher.

A good book with good characters. This is definite fun read that is well written and has a well thought out plot.
3.5/5 ⭐️
Thank-you to Net Galley, the publisher, and the author for an Advanced Reader Cooy.
This books opens with our main Fenale character stepping out of her comfort zone by booking her and her boyfriend a vacation. It features hikes, fishing, and all sorts of outdoorsy activities. He breaks up with her. However, Presley decides to take a leap and go on the adventure herself.
At first the AC in her room works to well so the family that runs the lodge moves her into one of the brothers cabin. It's Beckett. He ends up sleeping on the couch. From there they begin to get to know each other. Also, Presley takes a photo of French toast however Beck's abs are in the background which draws lots of attention on Instagram.
Presley steps out of her comfort zone by hiking and fishing.
Beckett and her form a bond and an instant connection.
This book features instant love and an instant chemistry between the two main characters.
What could be worse than breaking up with someone you thought would be your person? Maybe having the breakup happen after you have planned and purchased their dream trip! The audacity of him thinking she would still give him the trip... So, our FMC takes her exes dream trip, which is sooooo far outside of her comfort zone. But, it opens the door for so many new things. This was a fun, sweet story about love (obviously), but it also is a story about finding confidence in your abilities, and personal growth. Enjoyable read!
Speaking of books that kept me company during a January that took forever, Love, Naturally was such a perfect book for the beginning of the year. I love that it’s about a woman who has had blinders on for the duration of her relationship with this man and she finally registers that he’s actually kind of awful and then goes on the vacation she planned for him for his birthday by herself. Only the vacation she planned for him was like, catered to his preferences, which means it was intended to be a very outdoorsy type of vacation. I loved the way she decided that she was just going to embrace trying new things on this trip. Ultimately, was it realistic? I mean, not to me, but I did love the message of finding people to appreciate the multitude of gifts that you bring to the table because YES, that’s a great message for the start of the year. And ultimately, I would recommend if you’re in the mood for a romance with that message at the center. (Oh and the love interest really is amazing. I quite liked him. It’s just, I loved her more.)
Presley Ayers thought she had found the perfect birthday gift for her boyfriend of eight months. She booked a week for both of them at the Get Lost Lodge where she could try to enjoy the activities he said he enjoyed including fishing, hiking and boating. Never mind that her favorite activities included shopping. When he told her he couldn't see them spending a week together, she knew they had no future and decided to go anyways, alone. Little did she know this one week would change her life. As it turned out, hers wasn't the only life that changed. Beckett Keller's brother owned the Get Lost Lodge, and he was there to help get it into shape so that it could become a successful business. Nothing mattered more to Beckett than family, that is until Presley came along. Can these opposites find a way forward together?
Beautifully told and well plotted, the author brings together a large cast of well-developed characters. Their stories blend together perfectly, and readers are treated to a delightful tale about self-discovery and the importance of family. Highly recommended.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's and NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
