I really wanted to love this one because the premise interesting and different for a rom com. But Presley got on my nerves from page one. I'm sorry there's no way any female can be that stupid. To not notice that her boss doesn't like her and is taken advantage of her if you've earned the time your allowed to take it. So no she wasn't a believable heroine and I felt sorry for the hero being stuck with her.
Presley Ayers’ idea of a great vacation would involve shopping and not the outdoors. Her boyfriend of eight months is celebrating a birthday and she’s planned the perfect getaway…ten days at Get Lost Lodge. He makes it clear that he would rather go on a vacation like this with someone other than her, someone he gets to choose, which ends their relationship. Since she has the time off work, she decides to go on the vacation by herself even if it means taking many modes of transportation to get there, even a boat.
Beckett Keller spends his free time helping his brother, Grayson, to get Get Lost Lodge more operational; temporarily setting aside his own goals and dreams to help his brother with his. Beckett’s heading from the mainland back to the island when a guest appears to be completely out of her comfort zone on the boat; she looks like she belongs in a magazine instead of a secluded nature resort.
Presley and Beckett are drawn to each other from the first time their eyes lock. Beckett loves nature and well, Presley’s not much of an outdoors person although she’s determined that she’s going to try all the things that Get Lost Lodge has to offer. They often say that opposites attract…
I really liked this novel and will recommend it to others. I would love to see it turned into a Hallmark movie!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #LoveNaturally
Love, Naturally started off with a jump. I was hooked in the beginning, but as the story went on, it seemed very fast paced. I think this book was just not my style due to the tempo of the love story. I give two stars, but there are definitely people out there that will enjoy it!
Presley Ayers finds herself on a dream, nature-filled vacation after breaking things off with her boyfriend. And well maybe it wasn’t HER dream vacation but she’s committed to enjoying it one way or the other. Although, she may get a little sea-sick from the boat and lock eyes with a cute, local named Beckett.
This was a bit slow at times but I invited the pacing as really kind of flowed with the setting. The story is reminiscent of a Hallmark-esque tale of city woman meets small-town man. It was predictable and completely enjoyable despite the insta-love romance/attraction.
Presley and Beckett provided enough chemistry to stay interested but they probably won’t be the most memorable characters I read about in 2024. I will definitely give some of Sophie Sullivan’s other works a try!
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Sophie Sullivan is an auto-buy author for me, and Love, Naturally exceeded all my expectations.
After her long term boyfriend breaks up with her, Presley decides to take his dream trip as the ultimate revenge. The only problem is the exact opposite of her dream trip. An extended stay at Get Lost - basically a wilderness lodge filled with fishing, hiking, boating, and nature.
Beckett, the grumpy brother of the owner of the lodge, decides to take Presley under her wing and show her the ropes around the lodge.
This book was great. I loved seeing Presley define herself post-break up, and the found family she gained from Beckett’s family, the local community, and the guests at Get Lost lodge.
LOVE, NATURALLY - SOPHIE SULLIVAN
GREAT CHARACTERS! - 4 stars
Plot - 4 stars - When Beckett Keller helps the gorgeous woman off the rickety boat and onto Lodge territory, it’s clear she’s made a mistake. She doesn’t like hiking, fishing, or nature in general, so why did she go on this trip?―but he’s got other things on his mind. A crumbling lodge, and his own plans and dreams that are forever deferred―so he doesn’t have time for Ms. Fish-Out-of-Water. But neither Beckett nor Presley can help that inexplicable draw they feel towards each other. He’s all rough stubble and plaid shirts, while she’s all high heels and brand-name athleisurewear.
Writing - 4 stars - I was caught up in the story right from the first page. And because I loved the characters, I was invested in their activities and wanted to turn the pages to see what would happen and how things would turn out.
Characters - 5 stars - This is where the story shone for me. Presley has come to the Get Lost camp for all the wrong reasons, but when she arrives, she finds what she needs. She becomes entrenched in the family vibe, fitting right in. I loved her enthusiasm, her need to achieve, and her kindness. She is strong, but she's not afraid to admit her vulnerabilities, especially to the reader. Beckett is the typical hot, sexy hero. But he's also friendly and active. And I'm always a sucker for a guy who loves his family and wants to hang out with them, caring for them.
Title - 4 stars - Presley has mentioned, more than once, that her relationship with Beckett feels so natural, something that just flows rather than having to be worked at.
Cover - 3.5 stars - I'm not a big fan of these cartoon-y covers, but they seem to be popular at the moment. The bright colors definitely catch the eye.
Overall - 4 stars - This was a win for me. The main characters are warm people that anyone would want to hang with. And the secondary characters (of Jill, Gray, and Ollie in particular) add a lot of heart to the story. The story makes sense. Presley has been unhappy with her job, but she's good at it. The fact that she ends up at a struggling hotel/lodge is fortuitous for everyone involved. Plus, she starts to reevaluate her choices and starts to understand that she's spent more time trying to stick to her life plan rather than seeing what's right in front of her. Beckett is in a similar spot. He's spent all his time with "family first" as his motto, without ever thinking about what he really wants to do in life. Their connection is beautiful to watch. It's sudden, but it seems right from the beginning, and it was fun to see them come together so naturally. I've read other Sullivan books, but so far this has been my favorite.
Honestly, this wasn't a bad book, it was just incredibly slow moving. I felt like I was reading this book for like forever, but I wasn't even halfway through at a certain point. The really slow pacing of this book was made even worse by the fact that the romance itself moved very quickly. It was extremely insta-love, and incredibly underdeveloped. So it felt like we were moving at high speed, until you looked how much more you had left, and you realised you barely moved at all. If the slow pacing isn't for developing the romance, then why is it there?
Anyway, like I said besides the pacing, this wasn't a terrible book. I did quite like our two main characters, and they had their cute moments together despite the romance being a bit underdeveloped. I also adored the setting of this book. The lodge was such a beautiful setting, and I loved all the different guests they had. It really made this book come to life. On top of that I also just really loved Beckett's family, and if either of his siblings were to get their own romances, I wouldn't be opposed to checking them out. So yeah, the pacing killed this one for me, but there was a lot of potential for this book in my opinion.
I love reading anything by Sophie Sullivan. Her writing and storytelling are addicting. I literally read Love, Naturally in one sitting because it was really cute. I really enjoyed the main character Presley. She goes on a trip meant for her and her boyfriend. Unfortunately, her boyfriend breaks up with her and she is now stuck in a trip that’s out of her comfort zone dealing with camping, hiking, and fishing. Presley meets Beck whose family owns the cabins and falls for Presley. Their relationship was very sweet and full of chemistry. I loved both of them and the family dynamic represented in this story. Thank you NetGalley for giving me this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to have a physical copy for my personal collection.

This wasn't bad, but it wasn't really my cup of tea. Insta-love immediately following a break-up tends to feel only like a rebound to me, and not a real romance. But the characters themselves were endearing and the setting was super cute, and in another setting I think I would have liked this a lot more!
Love, Naturally follows Presley Ayers as she goes on a 10 day trip to a remote cabin/outdoorsy getaway... except she's not outdoorsy at all. Like me, Presley's main form of roughing it is a dingy motel with unstable WiFi and questionable sheets, not over a week spent fishing, camping and doing all manner of outdoor activities.
Presley is on this trip alone after a rather unexpected breakup with her boyfriend right before the flight to leave, which leaves a perfect opening for our MC Beckett to help her explore what she's been missing - both in life and in love as they explore all that the Get Lost Lodge has to offer.
Love, Naturally was published on January 16, 2024. Thank you to St. Martin's Press, NetGalley and the author for the digital advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sophie Sullivan is taking us on a journey to Smile Michigan the home of Get Lost Lodge.
Presley Ayers had planned a romantic trip for her boyfriend to show him that she can try his interests even though she’s not an outdoorsy person. She wasn’t expecting to break up with him though.
Beckett Keller is helping his siblings get their lodge up and running. He has his own dreams but wants to help his family too.
Presley works in boutique hotels and can’t help but offers ways for the Lodge to improve their marketing and social media interest.
While Presley is trying to make the most of the outdoor adventures isn’t not her idea of a good time but the Hot Mountain Man that is Beckett allows her to enjoy the views.
This was a fun read, with a feeling of family, starting over, finding your path while also finding a bit of romance. If you loved Katherine Center’s Happiness for Beginners I think you’d love this one.
Have you ever made an “out of your comfort zone” decision that turned out to be the best decision of your life? Presley Ayers did exactly that when she planned a trip for her boyfriend to spend 10 days at the Lost Lodge relaxing and fishing. Except said boyfriend had different plans and wanted the trip but not with her because she would be too annoying. Presley packs up and heads to the Lost Lodge on her own. Presley decides to make the most of the experience by trying to make the vacation an adventure. In the end, she not only finds herself, she finds a family and a new love that she deserves.
Love, Naturally is a heartfelt story with wonderful characters who have bring life to the story. I am looking forward to learning more about each of them as Sophie Sullivan develops more stories within this series.
Thank you Libro.fm for the advanced audiobook. The dual narration was excellent and easy to follow.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced ebook edition. These opinions are my own.
Presley Ayers is a concierge for a boutique hotel who struggles not to be taken advantage of by her boss. She fights hard for a few days off to take her boyfriend on a surprise birthday trip to a remote lodge. When he surprises her by not only being thrilled with her gift, but actually dumping her, she decides to go anyway, despite the fact hiking, fishing, and rustic are just not her thing. It gets off to a rocky, or rough, start, on the boat ride over but a handsome passenger offers her a barf bag.
The handsome passenger turns out to be the brother of the owner, and Presley quickly becomes enamored of Beckett, the lodge, his family, and even fishing (but not hiking). She and Beckett agree to give in to their mutual attraction for a vacation fling, but is it more than that? Their connection is instantaneous and deep. Presley finds herself falling in love with Beckett and his entire family and the aptly named town of Smile.
But she is true to their pledge that this is only a vaction fling and returns to her normal, unsatisfying, life, which seems even more dreary.
This is a charming romance with an enticing setting. Off to check out Michigan vacation destinations! #LoveNaturally #NetGalley
Cute!! This was a feel good story of essentially starting over and realizing what it is you want out of life without settling. Biggest advice in it— a man is not worth all that drama. If you’re trying too hard with no reciprocation— leave. You can find better, and you will.
She found someone who values her for her, and they work so perfectly together. Dreams change, and sometimes it’s to something bigger and better. Change is good sometimes. Also her job sucked anyways. All the things her boss wanted, I was like girl both your professional and personal relationships are toxic, dang. Except her bestie, Rylee can stay. I’m not normally one for insta love, and this happened over the course of 10 days, but I made an exception for this one.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the arc!
First thought: A cute outdoorsy romance about living in the moment and pursuing your dreams. This book left me wanting to go explore the outdoors with my very own #hotmountainman. If you want a vacation without the travel you can totally #getlost in this one.
Presley had everything planned for the most epic surprise for her boyfriend’s birthday. She took the next 10 days off from her job and she planned to surprise him with a trip of his dream, even if it meant not doing what she liked. But things didn’t go as planned and now she’s on a small plane headed into the great outdoors single, alone and a bit lost. How did things go this wrong?
Beckett puts his family above all else, even his own happiness so when his brother needed his help he came. That’s how he ended up at Get Lost Lodge helping his family fix up the place during his time off. He has a lot to think about the next few weeks as he decides what path he wants to take with his career and future.
So what happens when the city girl collides with the mountain main at Get Lost Lodge? She will be pushed outside her comfort zone and try new things, and he will learn what it means to be an accidental internet hashtag. They’re both single so why not mingle and have a vacation romance? It’s a case of insta love with an expiration date. What could ever go wrong…

I loved The Guide to Just Being Friends but couldn't get into this one. The writing style seemed different - just long blocks of narration that didn't help me connect with Presley, the main character. I requested this book as an ARC because I loved the authors other book but didn't spend much time reading the blurb. It's probably my fault that I didn't connect with this. If I read this blurb and it was written by an author I didn't know, it would have been my cup of tea.
I have so many books on my TBR so I decided to move on at the 10% mark.
3/5 stars
This book was cute, and I really liked the concept and plot, but the writing slowed everything down. The balance of descriptive text vs. dialogue was off, which slowed down the plot a lot. I found by the time I was 80% through this book, I didn't really care about the ending, which is usually when the reader is getting excited to see how everything plays out.
That said, while I didn't vibe with the writing, I do think this book is cute and that plenty of readers will enjoy it. It just wasn't for me. I like novels that are faster paced.

This was a great Rom-Com book! I really enjoyed it. I read it in one day and immediately went and looked for more books by this author. I would definitely recommend this book!
LOVE, NATURALLY by Sophie Sullivan hits all the promised plot beats of a modern romantic comedy. A career-driven go-getter woman, scorned, an impending vacation/event/Hallmark town bake-off, and a vanilla small-town local hero who swoops in to save the day, despite his best efforts to resist being drawn to a woman, ANY WOMAN.
This is my second novel from Sophie Sullivan, and I have yet to find my groove with her or leave the last page impressed. Not just impressed, but impressed upon in any way. Like previous romps with this author, I left this book with a bit of a "so what" feeling. "Meh" is not my favorite reaction to give to a contemporary romance, but alas, here we are.
Love, Naturally is a heartfelt read, set in a small town of Smile, Michigan. Presley plans a getaway for her less-than deserving boyfriend, which results in her dumping him and going on the fishing vacation herself, despite it being completely out of her comfort zone.
Sophie Sullivan has a way with her words and wrote the most charming setting, Get Lost Lodge, and makes a weeks worth of fishing and biking sound desirable. Presley, the FMC, who although was bit naive at first, has so much growth and such a big heart she was really enjoyable to read. And If there’s anyone who makes my heart swoon, it’s a man named Beckett. I loved that he was immediately mindful of her feelings and protective of her heart. I also enjoyed that the Instant chemistry between Presley and Beckett was presented as a slow burn and not an “insta-love” way. I enjoyed reading about the whole Keller family and hope there are other books to follow with the other siblings!
I definitely recommend this closed door read with just the right amount of spice, with found family and fake dating.
I really liked this book. The characters were great and easily lovable. It was also clear to see that she deserved better and clearly would have a spot at the families farm/lodge. I loved his niece. she was a great addition to the story. #hotmountainman
