Very fast paced read full of twists!
I’ve been looking for another book similar to The Guest List since I read that and Five Nights definitely fit the bill! While the stories are entirely different- the way everything unravels and ties together is the same and that’s what I really enjoyed.
Every character you meet has a secret or two and they slowly start falling apart throughout the book. I was hooked because of this and thanks to the short chapters I managed to tear through the book too!
I really liked the authors writing too so I’d love to read more of their books in the future!

Five Nights by Rachel Wolf
3 STARS
I was expecting to enjoy this more. The premise is interesting - a sort of Death on the Nile for the modern age. However, it doesn't quite deliver. The characters feel like exaggerations of familiar tropes, the pacing feels off and the plot becomes a bit unbelievable towards the end. Interesting premise but fails to deliver a satisfactory conclusion.

I read this one quite quickly and enjoyed it, without being really challenged by it. It had a clear plot line and structure and though I guessed the wrong Dad for Finn, I was close. The character backstory I enjoyed most was Viola’s but frankly, Belle wasn’t a character I liked or sympathised with. Nice to have a peek at how the other half live and I do love a cruise! Light, entertaining read which did try to add drama and darkness but struggled to do that. Thank you to the publishers and #netgalley for allowing me a preview read.

Thanks to #NetGalley and publishers for an #ARC of #FiveNights.
This book had me captivated from early one. Emily has been invited to board a luxury cruise liner to New York by her best friend who she hasn't seen in years. Oh and the ship is owned by her best friends husband!
Following the five nights on board where there are attacks, threats and much more, we follow Emily and Belles history as well as some family secrets from Belles new family.
Who us behind it all.
While I thought I was a budding detective, there were parts of this book that did make me gasp with a twist or a trick thrown in. Very readable book which I would highly recommend. 4.5 stars.

An impressive plot that believe it or not takes place over only five nights. Brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed it especially as it was in the totally different environment of a cruise ship! Full of mystery and twists where you never know what is going to happen- to whom or by whom.

I don’t typically read mystery:thrillers but this book had me hooked from the beginning, I couldn’t put it down, a real page turner, kept me guessing all the way through. Will be reading more books like this in the future.

This book is a little slow to start but once it gets going you can't put it down! If you're a fan of whodunit murder mysteries with twists you don't see coming, this book is for you.
The book follows Emily as she's invited to a 5 day luxury cruise by her former best friend who married into an incredibly rich powerful family (the Scarmados). But shortly into the cruise, not everything is as it seems.
I can't say I really liked most of the characters aside from Emily and Jimmi (one of the Scarmado sons), but that's partially the point of the book with the rich kids and their business focused father mostly having rich people problems. I didn't see half of the twists coming and I loved that. It ended up being a good fast paced read that I couldn't put down as I needed to find out what was happening.

Had me gripped from start to finish. Great read and I didn't want to put this down. Have already commented on tiktok videos regarding this and will recommend.

This book took me a bit out of my comfort zone, but the title and the description was enticing. I'm glad I took a chance. I like the authors style of writing. It is easy to follow while at the same time you need to concentrate a little to remember the relationships.
Emily and Belle are best friends They grew up together. Something terrible happened three years ago that tore them apart. Can they mend their friendship?
They are both on a cruise ship for five nights owned by the wealthy scarmardo family who are also on the cruise. Strange things keep happening who is to blame?

I like stories set on ships and the premise of this novel was interesting. However, a slow narrative, multiple disposable characters and an unbelievable plot meant I could not finish. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

I find any types of boats or cruises claustrophobic so god knows why I requested this but it ended up being sun a fun, suspenseful read! Highly recommend for thriller lovers.

WOW!!!
This book had me in a head spin.
It is everything it promises to be.
An insanely twisty thriller that keeps you guessing.
I was constantly changing my mind on who done it.
Props to Rachel Wolf.. she knows how write a thriller!!!
I will be pre ordering this as I need a physical copy in my life!

Secrets have a way of coming out. Emily just wanted to move on from the past but she is about to be dragged back into it. Emily knows that she can never make up for her choices but she needs to be here for Belle. The cruise doesn’t go according to plan as someone wants Belle to take the fall for everything that is going on but Emily can’t believe that she has misjudged her friend that much.
She needs to keep her wits about her as she can’t allow her secret to come out especially around this family.
Will they be able to make it out alive?
A good read. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the copy. This is my voluntary review.

Emily is invited on a cruise by an old friend Belle and her husband Mattia. Threatening notes, people becoming unwell, death and no way to escape off the boat in the middle of the ocean....
I enjoyed Five Nights - I love thrillers set on places that cannot be escaped from, and this had the additional element of the glitz and glamour of a cruise ship. I enjoyed the pacing of this book, not too slow but not too over the top with the twists and turns. The flash backs added a nice element, as did the back story of why Emily and Belle aren't as close as they once were.
An easy beach read that will keep you guessing.

Exciting premise and interesting story but just didn’t do it for me sadly. I did like the prose and the characters but it just didn’t hit like I thought it would.

Mattia Scarmado, media and shipping empire mogul and head of the most famous family in Britain, is about to retire. He’s taken his four children and new young wife Belle on the maiden voyage of his new luxury cruise ship. The tabloids are buzzing: is he about to announce his successor?
Belle insists that best friend Emily join the party. She needs an ally against her feuding stepchildren. But from the moment they set off, sinister things start to occur.
The question begs, what really happened three years ago?
An interesting read, that I found a little slow to begin with. I won’t lie, it took me a little while to get into and for the book to feel like it got going. The premise and set up was fascinating and I pushed through hoping it would pick up, and it did.
It was twisty and turny, and while I kind of wished that the information about their background got told a little earlier (I definitely felt like I was missing some bits of info for the first third to half), it gave an interesting backstory to the events occurring.
Despite this, I did enjoy it and found the ending somewhat surprising and unexpected, which is always a win with a thriller-type story.

I really enjoyed this ‘whodunnit’ mystery. It actually kept me guessing until the end and wrapped everything up nicely.
The characters and story were well written, the Scarmados especially, whom I hated at first but warmed to certain members as the story went on.
Great setting on the cruise ship, the ambience was perfect with the right amount of claustrophobia and hopelessness.
I will read more from this author.

This book had real potential, i did enjoy it but found some of the ‘twists’ a little unbelievable and the ending seemed a little rushed. Easy holiday read though. Solid 3 stars.

The book in question proved to be an enjoyable read, although I found myself able to anticipate the direction of the plot. Despite this, the author's skilful character development and a handful of unexpected plot twists kept me thoroughly engaged. Overall, I would consider this a well-written and engaging piece of literature that I would gladly recommend to others. Unfortunately for my preferences, it didn't have the 'WOW' factor I was expecting.

This is a fun and easy beach read! The killer sort of both felt obvious in present day and came out of left field in flashbacks so I think it would have been even better with a bit more backstory to the motive and character. The setting was fantastic and it kept my attention!
