Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 29th Feb 2024. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it won’t be the last. This book was a suspenseful read with lots of gripping moments that kept me wanting to read to find out what happens next for example who was sending the notes I had so many questions!!
The characters I felt were well written my favourite one was Belle as I would always what would happen next. Overall, a great book with lots of mystery perfect book for the psychological thrillers lovers alike!
I really the premise of this! The mystery kept me completely hooked. All the characters were HIGHLY unlikeable but because that is the intention, I enjoyed it. It's fast paced and I loved having the book broken down into the different days. It's one of my favourite formats. It really sped the book up and I struggled to put it down.
I didn't really like the "secret baby daddy" storyline but I fully appreciate it added an extra mystery element.
Really appreciated the idea but just felt the execution fella little short for me.
The whole concept of a warring billionaire family trapped for five days on a yacht had a lot of potential - I’m not sure whether it’s because it‘s an uncorrected proof but some of the writing perhaps needed another line read because I felt like I was taken out of the novel when I stumbled over some of the sentences and the way they were worded.
I also wish I had a bit more time to get to know young Belle and Emily - it was hard to really empathise with Emily's dedication to their friendship when I didn't really feel as though I understood them as friends. I did think the backstory of the Scarmado's and their matriarch was a real strong point though!
Some of it was pretty far fetched, edging on the side of plot holes, but ultimately you have to appreciate it for what it is, and it clearly worked because I read it in a day and was excited to see where the story went next.
Thanks to NetGalley and Aria and Aries for the ARC
Emily and Belle used to be inserapable, however an incident three years ago changed that. Now single mother Emily has received an invite to go on a 5 day cruise with Belle who is now married to Mattia Scarmados. Over the course of five nights, this book will take you on an adventure with the Scarmados- a rich family with plenty of hidden secrets.
I found this book slow to start however as the chapters went on I became hooked and couldn't wait to uncover the secrets and lies. I equally liked and despised the characters. I liked the style of writing especially the pace at the end- this made for a thrilling end. I loved the setting, this is a perfect holiday read.
This is an action packed thriller, a good holiday read if you like the genre. The past comes back to haunt, family inheritance is threatened, and in the middle is Emily caught up in this on a ship with no where to run too. Five nights to right wrongs or it might just be the death of her. Thank you to Aria and Aries, Head of Zeus and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

“A powerful family. A luxury cruise. A killer on board…
You’re invited to join the infamous Scarmado family on a five night voyage aboard their glamorous new ship. It’s a chance to see your best friend, Belle, newly married to Mattia Scarmado. You haven’t seen her in years.”
This was such an enjoyable read! Five Nights is a fast paced thriller with characters hiding a lot of secrets from each other and all will be revealed as the book goes on. The characters were dealt well done by Rachel and I enjoyed having the book separated into different days, as it amped up the pace and overall I could not put this book down! I loved the rich people vibes and the drama that unfolded and it kept me guessing all the way through.
Thank you to @netgalley @headofzeus and @rachelwolfauthor for the opportunity to read Five Nights, all opinions are my own. The book will be releasing 29th February 2024!
This is the perfect beach read - I loved it! Easy to get into the story, lots of fast pace stuff, twists, turns, glitz and glamour, what's not to like! Thoroughly recommend it for a quick, easy, but exciting read!
It was difficult to put this book down as Emily, from a very modest background, finds herself in at the deep end when her friend invites her onto the maiden voyage of a luxurious yacht with her wealthy but seemingly disfunctional family. We are kept guessing who is friend or foe throughout as the tension builds and the story gradually reveals all.
This book is great for readers who are new to thrillers or just want an easy read. This plot has murder, affairs, poison, death threats and lots of twists and turns. All elements of a really good thriller. However, I felt that the book starts off a bit slow and at chapter sixteen I wanted to DNF this book. I'm glad I perservered as it got better and the pace picked up from there. The characters each have their own personality and neither one over shadows the other. They all have their own place. Overall this book is good and if I saw another book by Rachel Wolf I would pick it up. I would like a sequel just so I could see how the scarmardo family are after their traumatic five nights on this boat
Rachel Wolf's novel 'Five Nights' is an engaging thriller that takes readers on a thrilling journey through the dark and twisted Scarmado family world. The luxurious cruise ship setting adds to the book's allure, and the author's skilful weaving of multiple storylines keeps readers engaged and guessing until the end. The characters are complex and intriguing, each with their secrets and motives, and the relationships between them are explored in depth, adding an extra layer of tension and drama to the story. The pacing is perfect, with just enough suspense and action to keep readers on the edge. Overall, 'Five Nights' is a must-read for mystery and thriller novel fans, providing a thrilling and captivating read that will keep readers guessing until the end!
Oh I loved this so much ! It was so intense and gripping! I couldn’t put it down. It was also very unique. Full of huge secrets and lies. your can’t trust no one. Even with so many main characters they are written so well you feel like you know each one. Trying to unravel. their lies is crazy you think you have it all figured out but nope the twists start coming. The cruise ship started amazing I could literally picture my self enjoying the sun and food. The Scarmados are one interesting crazy family. Their father marries Belle who’s younger than his 3 oldest not long after their mother dies on a boat accident. Emily if Belle’s best friend but after pirates rob the ship they worked on and Belle is kidnapped for 3 days they don’t talk for 3 years. 5 days on a cruise ship will see this family and Emily go on a crazy wild ride. You just can’t put it down the craziness doesn’t stop. It’s a great mystery book they keeps you so emerged in the story you won’t be able to put it down.
This book had me gripped from the very beginning and on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Although there are many characters, which can become rather confusing, they are all key to the plot and keeps you guessing who the murderer was. I kept changing my mind as to who I thought the murderer was. Short chapters and short sentences quicken the pace of the book and keep you hooked with flashbacks to reveal the ending. The last chapter made me so happy!
4.5 stars rounded up!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher as i LOVED this from the get go. Rich people behaving badly, just my thing!
It lost 0.5 stars for the person in the twist. Just happened way too quick for my liking .
Flew through this. It's worth it
Too many characters. Too much going on. Not all of the chapters flowed well-especially when moving from past to present. Just not realistic, not much suspense. I didn't care for any of the characters. Not for me.
I absolutely loved this book. The cruise, the mysterious deaths and the incoming storm kept me gripped from start to finish.
Lots of twists and turns, a great read
I kept changing my mind to who was the murderer, and I was still wouldn’t of guessed who it was
An immaculately constructed 'locked room' mystery thriller.
Full of suspense and intrigue, best described as 'Succession' on the high seas.
Fast paced and fun, plot driven with bags of tension and anticipation.
Twisty, devious and atmospheric, packed full of untrustworthy characters.
I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter to see who survives.
Expertly written novel, compelling, immersive and satisfying.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley UK for the ARC.
I absolutely loved this book. The Luxurious cruise, mysterious deaths, family secrets and incoming storm all made the perfect story that kept me gripped from start to finish. So many times did I change my mind on who the murderer was I could never have guessed the real culprit. Brilliantly written with lots of twists.
Five Nights is a suspenseful psychological thriller with a range of interesting characters. I loved that the mystery and claustrophobic intense atmosphere increased as you continued to read on and the pacing was great with this as I never felt bored and there were so many secrets to be revealed that kept me hooked. The twists and turns were great and not cliché and I really think this is a book worth reading.
I love a thriller/mystery read and Five Nights by Rachel Wolf was all that and more.
The plot is about Emily who is invited onto a cruise ship by her estranged friend Belle, hoping this will repair their friendship she readily agrees. Belle has married into a powerful family; the cruise ship is owned by her husband and his adult children are all onboard and they hold animosity towards Belle. As tension starts brewing, they are trapped on the cruise with no way of escape.
As the book progresses so does the suspense, the characters are all a range of different personalities in which some you will either warm up to or will readily dislike them. The secrets onboard make for an interesting atmosphere that amps up the mystery and suspenseful air.
Secrets are onboarding with the atmosphere being isolated and claustrophobic with no means of escape especially with their being a threat onboard. Secrets and truths will get revealed and nothing will be the same.
Overall, the story had me intrigued and captivated, I really did enjoy this book and liked the pace of the mystery and suspense, with twists and turns throughout it was entertaining and kept me reading on to the very end. I would recommend this to fellow book readers.
I really enjoyed this book and would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange of an honest review.
