If Ebenezer Scrooge had a Pinterest-perfect apartment and ran a multimillion-dollar business, you’d get Alexis Taylor—the queen of efficiency, spreadsheets, and a strict no holiday cheer policy. Christmas is just another day at the office for her—until fate (and a well-timed meet-cute) drags her to a small-town holiday wonderland where everyone is aggressively merry. Suddenly, Alexis is knee-deep in gingerbread house competitions, tree lighting ceremonies, and heartfelt lessons about the true meaning of Christmas. It’s giving "A Christmas Carol" meets "Sweet Home Alabama", but with even more twinkle lights and a romance that practically begs for a movie adaptation.
Schaler knows exactly what she’s doing when it comes to crafting cozy holiday escapism, and she does it well. The town? Picture-perfect. The holiday magic? Plentiful. The romance? As sweet as a sugar cookie, even if the love story leans more predictable than surprising. While Alexis’ transformation from holiday grump to festive believer happens at warp speed (seriously, it’s like she went from bah humbug to fa-la-la fabulous overnight), it still feels satisfying—because sometimes, you just want a feel-good, marshmallow-soft story that delivers all the festive vibes. The side characters are pure small-town holiday gold, though some teeter on caricature territory with their over-the-top Christmas enthusiasm.
So, is this a revolutionary take on holiday romance? Not really. But at four stars, it does deliver the perfect mix of charm, Christmas magic, and small-town coziness. This book practically begs to be read while wearing fuzzy socks and drinking something warm (bonus points if it has whipped cream). If your holiday season isn’t complete without a little Hallmark-esque charm, this one belongs on your shelf.

This was a really well done retelling of A Christmas Carol in a Hallmark style. It's the perfect cosy read to get you feeling warm for the Christmas season.

one of my favourite authors and especially at christmas.
These books are the kind that you need to clear your schedule and get inside the book with the author and submerge yourself.

Every Day is Christmas is the Hallmark version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. A Christmas Carol is such a classic story and I feel like this retelling of that was very well done! This is based on a movie written by the same author, and I really would like to watch the movie and see how it compares to the book. I believe this is one that could really hold up well against the story. It's the perfect book to help get you into the Christmas spirit!

I actually really enjoyed this and can’t wait to see the film version. My heart sank when I read the author’s intro note at the thought of *another.* Christmas Carol retelling but it’s actually done very cleverly and the modernisation and adaptions the author has made work very well and it comes across feeling fresh and innovative rather than shoehorned in.

Another heartwarming book by Karen Schaler! A must read! Check out all the books that she has written covering the joy of Christmas!! Good all rounder

This book was a beautiful breath of fresh air and a cosy Christmas book that will get you in the holiday spirit!

Great Christmas book by a great author. I loved the setting and the pace of the story. A lovely festive tale based on the timeless Christmas Carol and teaching all the same lessons

what a brilliant book to read same lines as christmas carol but a rude awakening for alexis as her journey begins through her life giving happiness and sorrow with a tear along the way for everybody concerned never read a book so quick in a long time

Great Christmas book by a great author. I loved the setting and the pace of the story. Will definitely check other books by this author.

Every Day Is Christmas is sort of a retelling of the Dicken's classic, "A Christmas Carol" which reminds us how important that family is in the grand scheme of things. I found this to be a heartwarming read, and would suggest it to others.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, I am leaving this review voluntarily and the opinion expressed here are my own.

A lovely festive tale based on the timeless Christmas Carol and teaching all the same lessons. Brilliant to get you feeling all christmassy.

A sweet Christmas story to add to the repertoire of Hallmark-like plot lines. We can all use a little reminder that a do-over is possible.

I rarely tear up over a book, but this one got to me. The story is very predictable, but it's merry and heartwarming, especially toward the end. It was really nice when Alexis opened her heart up for love again, but it was also funny how she had a complete personality change on Christmas. I've read countless versions of this same story, but I think it's also the kind of story that never gets old to me.

Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed it. It was also a quick read.

I found that this book was a tad predictable. It was a sweet book though, I am glad that I read it. I do like to read seasonal books here and there. It was fast and I was not bored. If you are looking for something that you don’t need to think about to much this is the book for you!

Every Day is Christmas by Karen Schaler is a modern take on the classic Christmas story 'A Christmas Carol'. Alexis Taylor is a super successful woman at the top of her field working in finance. She seems to have it all, but in reality, she doesn't have love in her life. Not only with a man, but she also has no family and it seems, no other meaningful relationships. This Christmas though, her past, present, and future collide with the arrival of a special visitor. Alexis takes a hard look at her life and makes some tough decisions. I read this after Christmas so wasn't sure I would be in the Christmas mood still, but I easily got into it and loved the story.

A fun and lighthearted A Christmas Carol retelling with a modern twist. This is a book to put you in the Christmas spirit.
